Gerald Crawford, The Invisible Rich Man

Gerald Crawford, The Invisible Rich Man
Chapter 1790-1791

Chapters 1790.

Gerald cursed the man angrily.

"Hehe, relax, sir. Crawford's. I was just kidding with you. After all, you're the one who doesn't want to play games with me."

The man laughed and replied in a scary voice.

It was just a joke?! It was a huge explosion, but this man actually said that it was just a small joke. That really drives Gerald crazy.

"What exactly do you want to play?"

Gerald calmed himself down and questioned the man over the phone.

"Hehe! Sired. Crawford, I know your abilities, and I'm very impressed with your strength. So, you are the only one who can play the game with me. Do you remember the purple letter? There is a Star of David pattern on the paper. The pattern represents each different area, and different things will happen in each area. It may be someone or something, and it all depends on you to find it yourself. Right, since it's a game, there's definitely winning and losing. If you win, I'll give you an address to save someone so you can go and save him. Of course, if you lose, that person can only die!"

The strange man explained the rules of the game to Gerald.

"You b*star! What if I don't agree with that?" Gerald shouted furiously again.

"Ha! Ha! Ha! Sired. Crawford, maybe you've felt the power of his explosion? If you don't play with me, I can't guarantee where the next blast will be. And you must be responsible for those people's deaths because you are the cause of their deaths!"

When the strange man heard what Gerald said, he burst into laughter as he replied.

"Okay, Sir. Crawford's. The decision is in your hands. There will be another letter for you tomorrow morning. You can decide whether you want to play with me or not!"

Then, the strange man reminded Gerald once more before hanging up the phone. He didn't give Gerald a chance to speak. Gerald threw away his phone in anger.

"Gerald, what does he really want?" Ray asked with a frown.

"It looks like we have no choice but to play with him!"

Gerald had no other choice but to compromise helplessly. Moreover, he still did not know the identity of the man.

Therefore, he could only search for clues based on what he had told him. From what he said, Gerald was convinced that the strangers had some hostages in his hands.

If Gerald doesn't play the game, the hostages will be in danger. At that time, Gerald would really be a sinner.

That night, Gerald didn't sleep, or rather, he couldn't sleep at all. The next morning, Gerald went to the office alone.

As he arrived at the doorway, Gerald saw an envelope lying on the floor in front of the door. It was a familiar purple envelope again. Gerald immediately took the envelope. He opened the door and began to read the letter.

Once opened, there was a paper with only one sentence written on it.

"Water flies straight down three thousand feet." Seeing this expression, Gerald became confused. Isn't that a classic poem? What does he mean by this? What is the hidden message behind this?

Soon after, Gerald turned on his computer and began searching for information about the poem's phrase. However, Gerald was unable to understand the meaning of this phrase in the poem at all.

Beep it! At that moment, Gerald's phone rang. Gerald immediately took it out and saw a news message.

Upon seeing the message, Gerald couldn't help but pause for a moment.

"Water falling from a height of three thousand feet. Could it be hinting at some kind of waterfall..?"

After thinking about it for a while, Gerald immediately stepped out of his office - making sure to lock the door behind him properly - before going to the newest waterfall on the Leicom Continent.

Whatever the case may be, after about half an hour, Gerald arrives at Mount Durduff where the newest waterfall is located.

The area itself has the largest mountains in the entire Leicom Continent, making many tourists vacation here.

After all, upon entering the mountain, Gerald mingled with the crowd. After following them for a while, he finally arrived at the newest waterfall...

Looking up, Gerald saw that he was barely a hundred feet tall. Although it certainly did not have a height of three thousand feet, Gerald was well aware that the description of the ancient poem was merely a hyperbola. After all, does the three thousand feet tall waterfall exist?

With that, Gerald immediately went on searching for clues while everyone was still mesmerized at the waterfall.

Looking around, the corner of Gerald's eye caught a glimpse of what looked like a rather narrow and mysterious boulevard to the left of the waterfall.

From the looks of it, only one person could pass through it at a time. Still, Gerald felt he had to go there, which is why he immediately did just that.

After walking for a while, he finally arrived at the opening of a large cave. However, before he could even enter, he suddenly heard someone from within shouting,

"PLEase..!"

Hearing how anxious the cry of the feminine voice was, Gerald immediately concluded that he was in grave danger. With that, he darted towards the source of his voice without hesitation!

As the scream grew louder, Gerald immediately saw a woman who had been tied to a stone pillar. With the water seemingly constantly dripping from it, it clearly explained why he was so drenched.

Running to free her, Gerald also notices that her eyes are red, signifying how long she has been stuck here.

Either way, after seeing Gerald, the overjoyed woman immediately shouted,

"Hello! Please, save me..!"

Nodding in response, Gerald then retrieved a small knife from his backpack before easily freeing the woman from the rope.

Realizing that she was finally free, the relieved woman immediately hugged Gerald tightly. Not even flinching from it, Gerald did not ramble and immediately asked,

"You're safe now. Anyway, may I know how long you've been stuck here, miss?"

Hearing that, the woman shook her head before replying,

"...That's... I'm not too sure. To be honest, all I remember is that I was knocked unconscious by someone when I was heading home last night. When I woke up, I was here."

Upon hearing that, Gerald immediately frowned before asking,

"...That's so... Before being knocked out, were you really sure you didn't find any strange situations on the way home?"

Shaking her head again - and feeling a little confused as to why she was being asked all of this -, the woman then replied,

"Not at all. After all, I always come home from work around eight. While it's true that I left work alone, I also drove, you know, and I used to go straight home after office hours."

As Gerald noted his answer, the corner of his eye suddenly caught a glimpse of what looked like a purple envelope that had been tucked into a stone with a small crack in its side.

Raising his eyebrows slightly, Gerald then walked over and took it...

"Huh? An envelope.?" The confused woman murmured."

"...Whatever the case, you're safe now, miss. Even so, I want you to report what happened to you to the Supreme Council. Also, please be more careful in the future!"
