Chapter 1824-1825

Chapters 1824.

While Rey knew something was wrong with the innkeeper, she couldn't be sure what it was, and to be honest, it drove her crazy.

Shaking his head in response, Gerald then replied,

"Although I'm not too sure where he's bad or not, I'm at least sure there's a problem with him. After all, I saw him constantly looking around our room before, almost as if he was looking for something. My guess is he must have a secret here!"

Moreover, the fact that the innkeeper had told them not to leave their room tonight only made them even more suspicious of him.

With that in mind, the curious duo is now interested in uncovering its true nature tonight!

"Let's go to Miss Zorn's room for now!" Gerald.

Rey thought the same thing, and with that, the two then walked out and started knocking on the door opposite their door.

"Who is this.?"

Juno asked in a manner similar to Gerald's previous question. It was a clear sign that he was also on guard.

"It's Gerald!"

The young man replied as Juno opened the door a few seconds later. Seeing that Rey was also there, Juno was compelled to ask, saying,

"What's up...?"

"Let's talk inside,"

Gerald replies when he and Rey enter his room, only to see that Yrsa herself is watching television in bed.

As soon as he locked the door behind them, Juno went straight to the point when he asked, Juno said,

"So. What's going on?"

"Basically, both Rey and I felt that the innkeeper was a bit strange. With that in mind, we want you two to sleep in our room later. We'll leave this room empty for tonight" Gerald said.

"I assume you're trying to use our current room as bait to test the innkeeper for a dirty game..?" Juno asked who quickly caught up.

"I couldn't have said it better myself,"

Gerald replied with a firm nod.

"Well, fine then! Give us some time to shower! We'll head to your room when we're done!"

Juno said, now fully in the plan.

Once that's done, Gerald and Rey then go back to their room first. About ten minutes later Juno and Yrsa came too. Although it must have been cramped, the four of them sharing a room would definitely make things safer.

After all, if the innkeeper was truly a despicable and lustful person, then letting the two girls sleep in their own rooms was definitely a bad idea.

While it was true that Juno was a strong cultivator, none of them were able to say for sure that the innkeeper did not have any special means to deal with them.

Whatever the case, now that the four of them were here, Gerald then said,

"Well, you guys sleep in bed while Rey and I sleep at the table. If you're worried about a midnight attack, Rey and I will take turns keeping watch all night. If anything happens, we will definitely warn you!"

After saying that, Gerald and Rey then sat down at the table. Juno and Yrsa themselves got into bed and fell asleep instantly. It will be a long night for the kids.

Fast forward to a few hours later, it was already late at night, and not a single sound was heard. Honestly, it's kind of scary.

Staring at their bedroom door, Gerald and Rey were now completely on guard.

Slowly moving towards the door, Gerald then peered through the peephole.and soon after, his eyes widened as he realized that the innkeeper was standing right in front of Juno's room!

Taking what looked like some sort of incense from his pocket, Gerald noticed the innkeeper then lit it up before placing it near Juno's door.

From the looks of it, he did so, so that his smoke would seep into his room...

After that was done, Gerald quickly retreated when he realized that the innkeeper was now walking towards his room!

At this point, Juno and the others were awake. After seeing Gerald's reaction, Juno could only whisper,

"...What's up, Gerald.?"

Cupping his hands to his mouth, Gerald then took a towel before smothering his mouth and nose with the towel.

Immediately understanding what Gerald was trying to convey, the others took their own towels and did the same as Gerald made sure to open the room window as well.

Shortly after, everyone watched as white smoke began seeping into the room through the bottom of the door. Had Gerald not opened the window, the room would have been filled with smoke in a matter of seconds!

However, Gerald and Rey's premonition turns out to be true. The owner of the inn really had evil intentions. After all, why else would he do something this shady in the middle of the night?

Luckily they suspected him. Otherwise, they would have been completely unconscious by now.

Either way, Gerald peered through the peeproom again after a while to see if the innkeeper was still around.

While Gerald was grateful the innkeeper was no longer there, Gerald was at a loss as to why he had just left. After all, he had already gone through the trouble of doing all this!

After thinking about it for a while, Gerald then headed to the bed before lying down. And right after that, he freed his soul from his body!

Naturally, Rey does not know that Gerald is having an out-of-body experience, causing him to instantly widen his eyes in shock when Gerald is suddenly very unconscious.

Just as he was about to check on Gerald, Juno raised her hand, gesturing for Rey not to move.

Upon seeing that, Rey realizes that Gerald did this on purpose. With that thought, he then returned to his seat.

As for Gerald, his soul had already floated around the inn. He would know the vile things that the innkeeper had planned if it was the last thing he did!

Soon after, he found the innkeeper leading the two men upstairs. Raising an eyebrow, Gerald then followed the three all the way to Juno's starting room!

Of course, no man could see or even detect Gerald's presence in his current form.

"The two women are in the room, Mr Panther! The two of them have been destroyed with incense bewitching me!"

Said the innkeeper with a sinister smile as he looked at the sturdy-looking man beside him.

"Great work!"

Replied Mr. Panther while nodding in satisfaction, encouraging the innkeeper to take the spare key of the room.

As soon as Juno's initial room opened, the three men entered. However, they quickly found themselves dumbfounded when they realized that the room was completely empty!

"...And where are they?"
