Chapters 1796.
Shortly after, the two arrived at what appeared to be a suspended platform. Looking up and pointing at him, Gerald then shouted,
"At the top there!"
As Ray turned his head to look up, he was surprised to see a woman's hair hanging on the side of the platform!
It didn't take a genius to know that the woman lying there was none other than the bank staff member they had previously saved from the ATM machine! He was arrested again soon after he was discharged from the hospital. What a poor woman.
At that moment, the two realized that a figure had been staring intently at them from some nearby rock formation. Seeing that, Gerald commanded,
"Go save the woman, Ray. I'm hunting that guy!"
Afterwards, Gerald immediately ran towards the figure, believing that he was the culprit behind all of this!
As he quickly caught the man now fleeing, the frustrated Gerald couldn't help but scream, saying,
"Stop running, coward!"
To Gerald's surprise, the man did what Gerald said. After suddenly stopping, the man then slowly turned to look at Gerald - who also stopped his steps - before saying in a sinister voice,
"So, we've finally met, Mr Crawford!"
"Who are you." Gerald growled while glaring at the man.
"Well! I'm just someone who's gonna die!"
The man replied as he slowly opened his hood to reveal his face.
Only for the now stunned Gerald to realize that the person was faceless! Empty, refined, and white, an expressionless person would scare an ordinary person to the point of fainting! Fortunately, Gerald was no ordinary person.
"You. You're not human, are you!" Shouted Gerald while staring at the faceless man.
"That's not me! Although the same goes for you as well, right? Still, unlike you who are only half a ghost, I am a drowning dead person!" The strange man's ejek.
"Alright, so. Why did you come looking for me.?" Ask Gerald who is now more confused than anything.
"Listen! My name is Yorrek Gurland and I drowned in the river three years ago! The person who drowned me was none other than the chairman of the Ember Lord Group, the Ember Lord himself! After all, after learning that you have killed the God Bucket, I cannot accept it, which is why I came looking for you!" Yorrek.
Now understanding that this person had come looking for him to kill the Ember Lord, Gerald then replied,
"Can't make peace? I'm not sure what your thought process is, but aren't you supposed to thank me now? Besides, I technically got your revenge by killing him!"
"Shut up! He should have died in my hands! You ruined everything!" Raung Yorrek is almost hysterical.
Hearing that, Gerald could instantly tell how deep his hatred towards the Ember Lord was. Thinking that Yorrek would be very reluctant to let go, even after the death of the God Ember.
"...Well, whatever the case may be, he's dead! What else do you want?" Ask Gerald.
"God! When he died, you were still alive! Since you were the one who killed him, I hold you responsible for all this! With that said, I'll kill you in his stead!" Reply Yorrek with a cold tone.

Forget to get rid of him, Yorrek might not even be able to hurt him!
"While it's true that I can't kill you personally, I can still get rid of others!" Yorrek ejeked before immediately running towards Gerald!
Seeing that, Gerald quickly unsheathed the Astrabyss Sword, ready to slash at Yorrek while he was within range!
However, in the next second, Yorrek seemed to just disappear! Although Gerald had prepared his sword, Yorrek seemed to have managed to escape.
Although disappointing, Gerald believes the match between himself and Yorrek is not over. In fact, this encounter may symbolize the true beginning of the game.
Fast forward to some time later, Ray-who seemed quite confused-willing to see Gerald, his tone full of admiration as he said,
"You're really amazing, you know, Mr Crawford?"
"Am I?" Gerald replied in a humble tone.
To explain what caused this exchange of words, let's go back to when Gerald first regrouped with Ray in the parking lot.
By then, Ray had already saved the woman and he was just waiting for Gerald to return. When he finally sees Gerald, he'll call when suddenly, Gerald disappears!
The next thing Ray knew, a gust of wind blew past him, and a second later, all of Tyson's men who had been lying down to ambush were lying on the ground, defeated.
Gerald was the only one who remained standing in the middle. Of course, it takes Ray by surprise, and he becomes more convinced than ever that Gerald is actually some kind of mystical creature.
Thinking back, it was a wise decision to stay by Gerald's side. Gerald himself considered those people a trivial affair.
After all, it only took him a few seconds to defeat all of them. While her past self would definitely be scared in that situation - due to her lack of ability back then -, her present self was different.
He was no longer afraid of fighting people like Tyson or anyone who possessed that level of strength.
"Of course you are! You were able to defeat those ten people as if they were nothing! Moreover, you are so fast that I can't even watch you defeat all of them!"
"Almost not commendable. They are too weak! By the way, call it a hunch, but it seems like those people are just trying to steal something from you. Am I right? And if so, what are they trying to get?" Gerald replied rather curiously.
"..That's..." Ray muttered, sounding somewhat hesitant to reply.
Seeing Ray's hesitation, Gerald then said,
"If it's uncomfortable to share, forget it. I won't force you!"
The fact that Ray was very careful in sharing that information must have meant that the item was very extraordinary and special to him.
"Rather than making me uncomfortable, I'm just worried that it will bring trouble for you! For context, the items I have are unique, at least." Answer Ray.
Ray also did not lie when he said that. After all, if he ended up bringing unnecessary trouble to Gerald's doorstep, he would definitely be filled with self-deprecation.
Even so, Ray's warning only made Gerald more curious.
"Now I'm very curious. It's been... Just tell me what it is. Don't worry, I'm stronger than you can imagine. Who knows, I can even help you solve what is bothering you! Besides, I'd rather you don't bear such a huge risk alone!" Gerald.
