Chapters 1898.

However, after hearing what Gerald said, both Rey and Yann immediately took a cold breath.

"...W-what do you mean we'll end up like them, Mr. Crawford...? Are we gonna die here."

Rey muttered, looking very anxious now.

"Hey now, don't make us shit again! Have a little more faith in Gerald! I'm sure he'll figure out a way to get us out of here!" Reply Yan.

"I want to know about that. Based on what we have gathered after taking a look, it hurts me to say that there is a pretty high possibility that we will actually die trapped here!" Answer Gerald.

Hearing that, Rey and Yann's eyes instantly widened. Although Rey was expected to say such things, when Gerald said it, it was only depressing.

However, after saying that, Gerald then continued walking deeper into the cave. After all, with how big the cave was, there was still the possibility of another exit at its end.

Of course, Rey and Yann followed him, and before long the three began to hear the sound of clear and pleasant water dripping deeper inside the cave.

There was something very soothing from the sound of those beautiful water droplets. It was definitely not a voice that people in the city could hear.

"You heard that, Mr. Crawford's? What a beautiful voice!"

Rey said with a almost dreamy tone.

"I know? The sound of the droplet itself made me feel like I was drunk in the middle of a magical forest!"

Added Yann, a listless grin on her face.

Upon hearing that, Gerald couldn't help but raise an eyebrow as he turned to look at his two drunk-looking allies.

While Gerald personally felt that the droplets sounded normal, he was immediately able to tell that the sounds affected the other two, almost hypnotizing.

With that in mind, he quickly began to shake the shoulders of the two of them while shouting,

"Hey, stop! Something's wrong with the sound of the drops! Rey, Yan! Wake up!"

However, it is useless. Both did not respond at all. Sighing resignedly, Gerald decided to return to where Tye and his men were.

At the very least, they could help her take Rey and Yann to a safer place. To Gerald's dismay, Tye and her men are apparently already exposed to the same hypnotic spell as Rey and Yann!

Just standing in place with silly expressions on their faces, none of them seemed able to recall anything Gerald said or did to them.

From the looks of it, as long as the sound of the droplets remained, none of them would come out from it.

With that in mind, Gerald knew that the only way to restore their consciousness was to search for the source of the sound and eliminate it.

Still, to think that everyone - who had previously been trapped here - had fallen victim to that drip sound as well.

With how embarrassed everyone grinned, Gerald could guess that the hypnotic effect was somewhat euphoric. Filled with happiness until death. What a cruel murder tactic.

Shaking his head, Gerald then quickly began heading towards the deepest part of the cave where the sound of droplets seemed to originate.

About ten minutes later when Gerald found a pond in the deepest part of the cave.

There seemed to be some kind of stone pier in the middle of the body of water, and on that pier, lay a jade board made of jade.

Raising his eyebrows slightly, Gerald then watched as a drop of water fell from the stalactite and right onto the jade board, producing a sound that strangely felt euphoric. Then again and again.

With how resounding the cave walls were, it was no wonder why they could hear sounds from such a far distance.

With that in mind, after some thought, he finally decided to take the shirt out of his backpack.

After which, he carefully aimed at the jade board, and with a throw, Gerald's shirt covered it up completely!

Although he could not destroy it safely, it did not mean he could not stop the sound of the droplet, at least that was what he expected.

Staring anxiously as the next drop of water fell from the stalactite and quickly descended towards the now-closed jade board... Gerald finally found himself sighing in relief when no sound was made.

Now that he was done, Gerald quickly rushed back to Rey and Yann's place to check on them.

After realizing that the two were still in a daze, Gerald quickly began to shake their shoulders while shouting, Shaking,

"Hey, stop!"

Fortunately, it seems to work.

Recovering shortly after, Rey shook her head before asking in a slightly sluggish tone,

"...Huh uh.? Mr Crawford.? L'm... What's going on.?"

"Indeed, Gerald. What the hell is going on in there.? The last thing I remember was hearing the pleasant sound of water droplets. After that everything was foggy."

Yann added, groaning as she slowly regained her position.

"Well, basically, you two became unresponsive after hearing the sound of water droplets! From what I know, the sound itself has a hypnotic effect!" Answer Gerald.

Now getting the gist of what's going on, Rey is asked to ask,

"Then, the sound."

"Don't worry, you won't be hearing those drops again for a long time! Anyway, I have a feeling that everyone who previously died here passed by happily. At least, that's what I assumed because you all had silly grins when you guys were enchanted earlier." Gerald.

"...come again? Euphorically.? To think that we could die like that too!"

Rey exclaimed in disbelief.

"Indeed. Whatever the case may be, we need to refocus to find a way out!"

Gerald replied, not wanting to stay in this place any longer for fear that there would be more danger waiting for them.

Hearing that, the two men nodded before continuing to explore the cave together with Gerald. Thankfully, Gerald was able to find a way out this time!

"Rey, Yan! Right here!"

Shouted Gerald as the two immediately ran over to see what happened. Upon seeing the light coming from the exit, Rey and Yann were very excited.

"Thank God! There seems to be another way out, Mr Crawford!"

Rey exclaimed, now feeling like she could trust Gerald with anything. After all, both Rey and Yann had almost lost hope of finding a way out early.

Thanks to Gerald, they could see the light of day again.! Yann himself could not help but praise, though,

"Looky! I've got to say, nothing is impossible with you around, Gerald! Anyway, let's get out of here while we can!"

"Hold it!"
