Gerald Crawford, The Invisible Rich Man

Gerald Crawford, The Invisible Rich Man
Chapters 1895-1897

Chapters 1895.

"Just leave the boy, Gerald. I, for example, appreciate its liveliness because everything here is miles and miles of boring beautiful scenery." Yann.

Upon hearing that, Gerald could only sigh in agreement. After all, it was estimated that it would take at least two hours before the group could cover five miles and eventually arrive at the Officer Observation Deck.

With that in mind, Gerald must admit that Rey's childish will-at least-make the trip still enjoyable.

After all, it was almost noon when the group arrived at the Officer Observation Deck.

The Officer Observation Deck is located quite high on Mount Dakriont, and is thought to have gotten its name because an officer used to come here to enjoy the scenery, centuries ago.

Although it is the official name of the deck, it is also colloquially known as a cloud display platform. As the name suggests, all kinds of clouds are also visible from up here.

Whatever the case, upon arriving, Tye turned to look at the others before saying,

"All right, we've arrived! Let's take a break and eat first! Remember that we will start taking the rough mountain roads after this!"

While the others seem to agree, Gerald, on the contrary, walked towards Tye before asking, Gerald,

"Can I see the map, Chief Lamano?"

Although he was surprised to hear the request, Tye handed the map to Gerald.

"Thank you!" Answer Gerald before immediately checking the map.

"Is there a problem, Mr. Crawford..?" Tye asked in curiosity.

Moments later, Gerald then pointed to the map before saying,

"Well, after looking through the map, I feel we can get to the destination sooner if we don't take the road to the Officer's View Deck. After all, from this moment on, all that awaits us is a rough mountain road, and I can assure you that it will slightly hinder our progress!"

Hearing that, Tye looked at the map closer. And true to what Gerald said, they could get to their destination sooner if they took an alternative path. Why didn't he realize it before?

"...So. Correct me if I'm wrong, Mr. Crawford, but are you suggesting that we go back to where we started?" Ask Tye.

"Indeed, even if just to clarify, it's just a suggestion. Naturally, it is you who will make the final call. That's all I want to say, now excuse me,"

Gerald replied before walking to where Yann and Rey were.

Gerald wasn't too keen on helping them, to be honest. If it wasn't for the fact that Yann was cooperating with them, Gerald would have taken Yann and Rey for granted, making it a three-man party that could be arranged.

Regardless, as Tye watched Gerald reunite with his group, Tye herself began to ponder what Gerald had just said.

While it is true that technically they can arrive at the destination faster if they retreat, Tye concludes that retreating at this point will only waste more time.

With that, Tye decided to continue down the path she had chosen. So what if it's a little further? The important thing is that they get to their destination.

Shortly after, the group continued their journey. However, it was not long before the weather suddenly began to change rapidly. Seeing such a drastic change, Rey could only murmur,

"Didn't the weather change too fast.? It wouldn't surprise me if we were hit by a sudden thunderstorm!"

Rey's second sentence ended, a low rumble could be heard from the sky, prompting the rest of the party to stare at Rey.

After realizing that he shouldn't have brought bad luck, Rey simply lowered her head, feeling embarrassed.

Even so, Gerald was used to Rey saying such a thing. With that, he distracts everyone from Rey by saying,

"After all, let's focus on finding a place to avoid the rain!"

After all, walking around so many trees in a lightning storm is a recipe for disaster. Fortunately, the group soon found a cave to shelter.

Upon entering, Rey could not help but exclaim, saying,

"Holy! This place is huge!"

According to Rey's words, several hundred people might be able to fit in this place.

"...Hey, comehere! Hurry up and see all this!"

Excited one of Tye's men who had previously lurked.

After hearing that, everyone followed the source of the voice, and before long, they all widened their eyes in astonishment.

A little deeper into the cave, a kind of bright light could be seen sparkling beautifully. Moreover, all kinds of natural jade and jade could be seen growing everywhere!

"Cr*p."

Rey muttered as she rubbed her eyes in disbelief.

He had never seen jade and jade so pure and natural-looking in his life! That sentiment was, of course, shared by everyone there.

Think that such an amazing place is here of all places... It's truly magical!

Quickly picking it up, everyone immediately began to look around at the puzzling cave.

Shortly after, Gerald is just in time to realize that one of Tye's men has pulled out a hammer! Knowing fully where he was heading, Gerald immediately shouted,

"Stop!"

Hearing Gerald's voice-and realizing that the order was directed at him-, the man then raised his eyebrows while glaring at Gerald while asking, the man said,

"...Whahuh? Go get it yourself!"

"No one can take this jade or jade! They belong to nature!" Reply Gerald.

The man pouted before pointing his hammer at one of the jade slips! Realizing that his advice was not working, Gerald immediately ran towards the man, hoping he could stop him in time!

Unfortunately, Gerald was only a second late. As soon as the jade was dislodged from the earth, a low rumble could be heard immediately, and after that, the entire cave began to tremble!

Gerald had a feeling that something bad would happen if someone tried to take one of those precious stones, and unfortunately, he was right.

With how much the cave trembled, everyone became even more anxious. Just as they were about to start leaving the cave, a huge boulder suddenly collapsed, completely blocking the entrance!

Everyone is trapped here! Unable to hold back his anger, Gerald immediately vented it to the person who had caused all this before hitting him right in the nose while shouting,

"You're b*stard."

As soon as the man fell to the ground, the other Tye's men directly pointed their weapons at Gerald!

"Stop! Everyone, relax!"

Shouted Tye while trying to keep the peace between the two sides. After a few seconds, Gerald took a deep breath before narrowing his eyes at Tye while asking,

"...My correction if I am wrong, Chairman Lamano, but I specifically remember that my condition for leading you here is that you listen to every word!"

While Tye was stunned for a moment to hear that suddenly, she had to admit that she had actually made that promise. Understanding that he was the one who was wrong, Tye quickly shouted,

"Male! Get rid of guns!"

As soon as Tye's men reluctantly kept their weapons again, Tye smiled subtly at Gerald while saying, Tye,

"Mrs. Crawford's... I really hope we can work well together... With that in mind, since my people have pulled back their weapons, can you avoid pushing the matter further.?"

While Gerald knows where Tye came from, what's the point of saying all this now that they're stuck? Whatever the case may be, they need to find a way to leave the cave as soon as possible.

Chapters 1897.

After a short pause, Gerald then looked at Tye before replying, Gerald,

"...Good. In any case, if you want to leave this place safely, I implore you to tell your subordinates to be more obedient. No more randomly touching things! Trigger one more trap and we'll probably be stuck here forever!"

Knowing that he had made himself very clear this time, Gerald then turned around without saying a word. Whether Tye decides to listen or not, it's up to her.

While staring at Gerald's back - as the young man walked away to find another way out - Tye inevitably stared intently at the man who caused all this. Had he not been so greedy, none of them would have been trapped here!

The man himself quickly lowered his head to avert his gaze, not even daring to look Tye in the eye.

Gasping for breath in response, Tye then looked at all her subordinates before stating,

"Alright, listen! If any of you dare to touch something randomly again, I'll personally cut off your hand! Understood?"

With how resolute Tye's orders were, her subordinates knew that she was serious, prompting each of them to quickly nod in response.

While this is happening, Gerald, Rey, and Yann are already lurking in front, hoping to find another passageway they can use to leave the cave.

Unfortunately, even after looking around for quite a while, none of them were able to find another way out!

From the looks of it, this place seemed to be mostly closed off from the world, except for one exit that was now blocked.

"...Not to give up, but there seems to be no other way out here."

Rey murmured, clearly getting more anxious by the minute.

"...Even though I hate to admit it, Rey is right! We're really stuck here!"

Added Yann before sighing in frustration. At this point, Yann had already begun to regret working with Tye to get here.

Had he known that one of Tye's men would have brought them so much trouble, there was no way she would have considered Tye's help!

"Well, since there is no other way, let's take the time to think about the mechanism that caused the rock to shut the cave's mouth in the first place! After all, there was no way that the cave could be perfectly sealed in a natural way!"

Gerald replied in a calm tone.

"agreed. After all, didn't you find it strange that no one had found this cave before despite the many jade and jade stones here? To be honest, the strangest part of all this is the fact that no one has yet dug this place up!"

Said Ray with a slight frown.

Had this been another cave, some people would have gathered here centuries ago after finding out about all the precious stones here. If that happened, then this place would have been left barren by now!

Chuckling in response, Gerald then replied,

"The fact that the precious stones here remain largely untouched makes it clear that there is something strange about this place."

As soon as his sentence ended, the corner of Gerald's eyes suddenly realized something disturbing. Raising an eyebrow, he started walking towards the place where many jade and jade were growing.

And upon closer inspection, it seemed that his eyes were not toying with him. There was a bit of human bone inside the jade and jade!

Walking closer to see what Gerald was so interested in, Rey's eyes instantly widened as she took a closer look at the 'valuable stone' that Gerald was looking at.

"Mr Crawford. It... human bones, right.?! Why were they enveloped by jade and jade ?!"

Rey should have been shocked.

"My guess is that after being stuck here like us, this guy ends up dead. Once he was just a bone, all it took was a few years for jade and jade to start growing on it!"

Gerald answered, proposing his theory. However, if Gerald's theory is correct, then it means they are not the first group to get stuck here. After all, that was the only plausible explanation for these bones being here!

Still, to think that the jade and jade here grew with the help of human bones.
