Gerald Crawford, The Invisible Rich Man

Gerald Crawford, The Invisible Rich Man
Chapter 1792-1793

Chapters 1792.

Gerald purposely avoided his question lest he ask too many questions. Getting the hint, the woman then nodded before quickly leaving the cave.

Seeing that he was now gone, Gerald quickly opened the letter and began to read it.

'Congratulations on finding the first hostage, sir. Crawford! Now hurry up and find where the next hostage is! There is no money hidden here!'

After reading the letter, Gerald could not help but frown. Another ancient poem.? The culprit really enjoyed using ancient poetry as a clue, didn't he? Regardless, the clues this time were quite easy.

Since the poem included the word 'money', it was only natural to assume that the next hostage could be found in the bank. But which bank?

There were too many banks in the Leicom Continent for Gerald to find the right bank in such a short amount of time.

Realizing that he won't solve anything just by speculating here alone, Gerald soon leaves the area, intending to study the clue with Ray in the office.

But as soon as he got into his car, he immediately received a call from an unknown number.

"It appears you've rescued the first hostage, Mr. Crawford. I guess you've found the purple envelope too, then?"

While Gerald knew that the speaker was male, his voice was strange, to say the least. Whatever the case, Gerald then retorted,

"Me too, your ck. You won't get away with all this! I'll make sure I catch you if that's the last thing I do!"

Afterwards, Gerald immediately hung up the phone, not wanting to waste his breath on this strange man.

With that, Gerald then drove Juno's car back to his office. Since his own car had previously been blown up, he could only use hers for now.

However, upon entering his office, Gerald is immediately greeted by the sight of Ray and the other two people inside.

Seeing that Gerald was back, Ray took the opportunity to ask, saying,

"Mrs. Crawford, you're back! Where did you go so early in the morning?"

Since the three of them hadn't seen Gerald all morning, they all had a hunch that he might have gone to conduct a personal investigation.

Either way, regardless of Ray's question, Gerald simply ordered,

"Ray, I want you to immediately start investigating the sentence, There's no money hidden here'!"

Without even bothering to ask why, Ray immediately headed to his computer to start working while answering, Ray said,

"Hard and clear!"

While Ray is used to not getting answers directly from Gerald, Juno is not. With that in mind, he quickly walked towards her before asking,

"What's up, Gerald...?"

Hearing that, Gerald took the purple envelope from his pocket before handing it to Juno. After reading it, he momentarily looked surprised, even though it was foreseen.

What Gerald did not expect, however, was the fact that Juno suddenly said,

"...I think I know where the letter points! If my guess is correct, it must be referring to a bank or a tax building. And there's only one place I can think of where those two buildings can be found close together!"

Hearing that, Gerald instantly knew the area Juno was referring to. With that in mind, he patted Ray on the shoulder before saying,

"You heard. Let's go there now!"

With that, Gerald and Ray darted out of the office before quickly driving towards the tax building Juno was talking about.

While they were on their way there, Ray could not help but ask,

"So, please tell me, Mr. Crawford..?"

Turning to look at Ray for a moment, Gerald then replied,

"Remember yesterday's call?"

Nodding in response, Ray then said,

"Yes. That guy said he wanted to play a game with you. Don't tell me it's already started?"

"really. That man had challenged me to rescue six hostages, and I had already saved one this morning. We're on our way to save the second one!" Gerald.

Hearing that, Ray fell silent for a moment. No wonder Gerald wasn't there this morning. He had already saved someone when they were still not awake!

Ignoring how surprised Ray looked, Gerald later added,

"After all, the sentence I said to you to investigate earlier, There is no money hidden here, directly related to the location of the second hostage, which is the location of the second hostage, that's why we're currently targeting banks near the tax building!"

Just as Gerald finished his explanation, the two arrived at the entrance of the tax building. After descending, the two started looking around for the bank, and soon, they found it.

However, because it's a weekend, banks are closed, and only self-service banks - on the side - remain open.

"Closed, yeah. What should we do now, sir. Crawford?" Ray muttered as he looked at Gerald.

"I'm sure the culprit also anticipates the bank being closed today. With that in mind, the second hostage should be in the only operational part of the bank at the weekend... Self-service bank!" Shouted both simultaneously.

Now that they had come to this conclusion, the two men rushed to the supermarket bank and immediately began to look around.

Moments later, Ray - who had been searching for clues as to where the hostage was - inevitably said,

"..Looks like there's nobody here, Mr. Crawford. Could we be wrong..?"

"negative. I'm sure Juno made the right guess!" Gerald replied without hesitation.

The hostages must be here. They just haven't found it yet. Fortunately, as there were not too many people around - as this was the weekend - after the two fell silent for a while, they could hear a faint knocking sound from behind them!

Turning around, Ray sharpened his ears before pointing to one of the ATM machines and shouting, Ray said,

"That's from the third ATM, sir. Crawford!"

Nodding in agreement, the two then rushed to the machine. As Gerald crouched down and began investigating the ATM, the two were a little off guard when they heard a voice coming from the area where people usually slipped their cards!

The voice itself is feminine, and it calls out in a weak voice,

"Please. Please." Please."

Hearing that, Ray immediately shouted, saying,

"We have found a second hostage! We really came to the right place!"

"Indeed, but it's too early to celebrate! Call the Supreme Council, Ray! Tell them to send someone to open this machine!" Gerald's Order.

"Accepted!" Rey replied as she quickly pulled out her phone and started calling the Supreme Council.
