Gerald Crawford, The Invisible Rich Man

Gerald Crawford, The Invisible Rich Man
Chapter 1873-1874

Chapters 1873.

"...What..what exactly are you doing, brother Gerald...?" Rey asked confusedly.

"I'm transferring some power into you so you'll be able to see ghosts like me from now on. However, be careful that these evil spirits can be far more terrifying and fiercer than you ever imagined. With that in mind, I advise you to strengthen your will!" Gerald.

As this will be Rey's first time seeing a real evil spirit, Gerald knows that the experience can be quite frightening.

With that, she makes sure to tell Rey to prepare herself in the hope that her student will not end up wetting her bed and fainting on the spot...

"Understand me, brother Gerald! I will take care of myself!"

Rey replied, determination in her eyes.

Nodding in response, Gerald then led the way to the Elysian Labyrinth. Once inside, Gerald quickly summoned the Astrabyss Sword before saying,

"Spirit Summoning Chantra!"

After that, he started to change some sort of spell to summon the ghosts nearby. After the spell was successfully completed, any lingering spirits would be instantly forced to head to the Elysian Labyrinth..

This was also the reason why Gerald placed so much emphasis on Rey who strengthened his spirit earlier. After all, none of them knew what kind of ghost would appear.

After all, with the completion of the spell, Gerald and Rey then waited there in silence...

However, not long after that a cold wind blew on the back of Rey's neck, causing shivers all over her body!

"Sister Gerald..." Whine Rey.

Hearing that, Gerald directly swung the Astrabyss Sword towards the evil spirit that appeared right behind Rey!

Rey herself quickly turned around to see what Gerald was attacking... Only to find his eyes widening in shock when he saw an evil spirit with a petite face glaring at him!

While the tiny face was glowing deep blue, the spirit eyes were blood red, making the evil spirit even more terrifying to look at!

Realizing that Rey was so frightened that she couldn't even breathe properly, Gerald quickly pulled his student to her back before shouting, saying,

"Stay behind me! I'll face it!"

Now that Rey is in a safe position, Gerald jumps forward to attack the spirit again!

Even so, that evil spirit would not allow itself to be attacked that easily. Quickly turning into black poison, he immediately started trying to escape!

Of course, Gerald wouldn't give it that chance. Stretching out his arm, Gerald then shouted,

"Soul Chain!"

And just like that, his Soul Chain was summoned and quickly wrapped around the evil spirit!

"Pull!"

Instructing Gerald, resulting in the chain forcefully dragging the now angry and roaring spirit right in front of Gerald...

"Do you really think you will be able to escape the grasp of a cultivator, an evil spirit?"

Mocking Gerald with a disdainful tone.

Upon realizing that the spirit has been captured, Rey - who has just calmed down - quickly walks to Gerald's side.... Only to feel his heart pounding once more when he saw how terrifying the evil spirit was up close!

"Don't worry, it can't attack you now that I've tied it up! By the way, if you still feel intimidated, don't worry too much. After all, this is only the first of many, and the more spirits you see, the less threatening they will be in the end!"

Comforting Gerald, knowing that Rey has a hard time accepting any of this.

Gerald knew for a fact that many people must have wet the bed when they saw this evil spirit for the first time.

While Rey is initially scared, she ends up being tough enough to handle this much, and it leaves Gerald feeling somewhat satisfied.

After all, she of all people knew that adapting to such monstrous spirits took time, so Gerald would not force Rey to adapt to them that quickly.

"Pulse... Brother Gerald. about that evil spirit.."

Realizing that Rey was looking at the evil spirit, Gerald replied,

"I will exterminate it so as not to cause further damage!"

After which, Gerald took out the Phangrottom Talisman, and after waving it in front of the evil spirit, he immediately let out a powerful roar!

However, the longer he roared, the weaker his voice became, eventually turning into ashes.. And just like that, Gerald has defeated the evil spirit!

Thanks to Phangrottom Talisman, dealing with spirits was no longer a big deal for Gerald.

Rey herself could only stare dumbfounded at how easily Gerald cast out the evil spirit. To think that Phangrottom Talisman was that strong!

"That amulet is really amazing, brother Gerald!" Rey Exclamations.

"Indeed. Why else do you think the Phangrottom Clan sees it as a precious treasure?" Answer Gerald.

If even the Phangrottom Clan valued it, it was undoubtedly a powerful item... That clearly explained why people even risked their lives just to obtain the talisman.

Even so, in the end, the talisman could only belong to Gerald...

Regardless, now that the matter had been dealt with, Gerald was asked to say,

"All right, we're done here! Let's go to the Great Council!"

With that, the two left the Elysian Labyrinth, and not long after, their car stopped in front of the Great Council building...

Despite the fact that it was already midnight there, the entire building was still brightly lit and the atmosphere there remained tense as usual.

After all, Harold and his men were anxiously waiting for Gerald and Rey to report back.

After all, upon seeing Gerald and Rey step out, one of Harold's subordinates - who had been placed in front of the building to report the return of the two - immediately ran towards Harold's office before excitedly reporting, immediately,

"Master! They're back!"

Upon hearing that, the delighted Harold instantly got up and rushed out of his office.

Seeing Gerald and Rey there, he quickly greeted them before asking with a hopeful expression on his face,

"What's the situation like, Mr Crawford?"

Looking at Harold, Gerald then calmly replied,

"I've cast out an evil spirit, Mr. Lee. Everything is in order now!"

Hearing that, Mr. Lee immediately sighed in relief before nodding. At this point, he fully believed in Gerald's words.

"Well, if there's nothing else, we'll go!" Added Gerald.

"of course! Once again, we're very grateful for all your help, Mr. Crawford!"

Harold replied as he personally drove them until they got their car...

It was only after the two left when Harold finally returned to the building...

"...Um... Sir? Do you really think this case has been solved...? Like that...? I mean, not rude, but the idea of ghosts exists..."

One of Harold's subordinates muttered after Gerald and Rey left.

It was natural for them to feel doubtful. After all, anyone would be skeptical of the existence of ghosts.

Even so, the harsh reality is that ghosts actually exist in the same realm as them. Just because they can't see it doesn't mean they're not real...
