Chapter 2046.
It had been almost a week since the last time he saw Longing Island on the map. Despite the fact that he kept an eye on the map every time he was free, the island refused to appear again.
As Gerald continued to look at the map, he suddenly heard someone say,
"You dare to look for trouble with us.!"
Tucking the sea map back into his pocket, Gerald only smiled wryly as he left his room.
On exiting, he saw Master Ghost and Aiden - who were sitting in the living room, - staring at the front door, making it pretty clear that they heard the same voice.
However, just as Aiden was about to get up, Gerald forcefully pushed him back into his seat.
"Stay here. It has nothing to do with you."
Gerald replied in a relaxed tone as he exited the house and closed the door behind him. Of course, the owner of the voice was none other than Adler.
"Ironically that you said that we were looking for trouble when you did the same thing."
Gerald said as he narrowed his eyes.
Ignoring the comment, Adler simply crossed his arms, looking completely unafraid of Gerald as he replied,
"You're Gerald, right? Before coming to Japan, I had heard about the incident that happened in Yanam. There are rumors that you are responsible for the loss of my leader. In fact, it is also said that it was you who killed so many military men! With that in mind, it is my duty not to let you leave this place alive."
"It looks like you know very little about me. I will say now that my problem with Yanam has been resolved, and I see no reason to cause trouble. With that in mind, leave now and I'll pretend this conversation never happened. How's it?"
Gerald said with a faint smile before pointing to the side, clearly hinting for Adler to leave.
"Cut cr*p! You go back to Yanam with me now!"
Adler growled as he reached out to grab Gerald's collar.
However, before he could do so, Gerald quickly hit the back of Adler's hand! Because of how quick Gerald's counterattack was, Adler could only record what happened when he felt a burning pain in his hand
"My hands.!"
Adler fizzled while desperately trying to shrink his voice.
Looking at his swollen hand, it was already as red as a bit. It was hardly an exaggeration that his hand felt like it had just been smashed by a hammer! With excruciating pain, for a moment, he could not even feel his fingers.
Whatever the case, Gerald - who was now frowning - then said,
"I'm giving you one last chance. Get you out of my sight."
To be honest, if it wasn't for the fact that he didn't want to cause unnecessary trouble for Aiden - from other special forces from abroad -, he would have gotten rid of Adler once he came looking for trouble.
"Tell me where my leader is."
Adler replies as he pulls out the army's dagger after realizing that Gerald didn't hurt him too seriously.
After thinking about it for a while, Gerald then said,
"Don't know. He's probably in a forest."
Enraged, Adler then raised his dagger, directing it to Gerald's heart as he shouted, saying,
"Fuck you!"
Gerald did not move an inch as the dagger slid right into his chest! Adler himself smiled wickedly as he felt the dagger collide with Gerald, before stopping.
Eyes widened, Adler's immediate thought was that something must have been put on Gerald's chest to prevent the dagger from piercing. With that in mind, he increased his thrust strength, imagining that whatever his armor was, it would eventually break through it.
However, no matter how much power he applied, the dagger was unwilling to move...!
"You done yet?"
Gerald replied with a slight frown.
While he was previously still worried about the negative impact on Aiden's performance in the competition, Adler is looking too much for death at this point.
Chapter 2047.
"Who are you.?!"
Adler said his fear was now visible in his eyes.
After all, he was now convinced that there was nothing on Gerald's chest. However, that meant that the tip of the dagger was currently hitting his skin! Why hasn't that broken through? Is the skin made of steel or something?!
"I'm just a guy from Weston."
Gerald replied as he gripped Adler's neck, not wanting to play around with this guy again. Even before Adler could fight back, a loud snap' could be heard. And just like that, Adler's dead.
After seeing the body for a while, Gerald dragged it behind the house. After which, he used the Primordial Spirit of Hercules to gather the immense heat in his hands, and in the blink of an eye, Adler's corpse completely evaporated.
With the body now missing, Gerald cleaned his hands and looked around to see if there were any witnesses. Seeing that there was no one, Gerald then went back into the house.
Seeing that Gerald was now back, Aiden-who had previously heard the signs of battle outside- instantly stood up and asked, Aiden-who had previously heard the signs of battle outside-strapped,
"Is he still trying to find trouble, brother Gerald?"
Had Gerald not banned him from leaving, he would have fought Adler earlier. Whatever the case, Gerald simply waved his hand as he replied,
"He is no more. With that, no one was allowed to bring up this incident anymore."
Before Aiden could ask for more details, Gerald had already returned to his room, closing the door behind him.
Although he was confused, Aiden finally sat back down to finish his soup. He did not even bother to ask Master Ghost about it since the two of them had remained sitting there before, completely unaware of what Gerald had done.
Knowing that he would not get any answers, after he was done with his soup, Aiden then returned to his room to sleep.
The next morning, instead of being woken up by Gerald or Master Ghost, Aiden was instead awakened by a commotion not too far from their home.
Wondering if something serious had happened again, Aiden then jumped out of bed and put on a coat before walking out of his room.
Raising his eyebrows slightly, Aiden then opened the front door. Just to realize that a group of people had gathered right outside their home! Including the Japanese in charge - whom they had met before -, the group consisted of special forces from various other countries.
Wondering what all the commotion was about, Aiden frowned slightly as he asked,
"What's the problem here?"
Hearing that, the person in charge showed Aiden his identity card before replying,
"Yes, well, before anything else, we'd like to ask if you've seen Mr. Adler of Yanam recently, Mr. Baker. From what I've heard, you and her had a disagreement yesterday, and I find it quite strange that she mysteriously disappeared after that!"
Recalling what Gerald had said the night before, Aiden simply replied,
"No, not yet."
"I'm sorry? Listen, some of the participants heard him looking for trouble with you last night. Are you absolutely sure you didn't meet him back then?"
Said the person in charge.
Since a special forces member from abroad is missing in a foreign country, the person in charge knows that he must find the culprit. Otherwise, he would definitely be responsible for this incident. It's no longer a small matter.
"While it's true he tried to annoy us last night, we just ignored him. After that, he left and we didn't know where he was going. It's not that it's about us." Answer Aiden.
After hearing that, the person in charge then turned to look at the people behind him while asking,
"Have any of you seen him since then?"
Naturally, they all shook their heads, unwilling to get involved in the incident. After all, if Adler was really in trouble - or even dead, - everyone knew that the problem would not be easy to solve.
Chapter 2048.
Scratching the back of his head, the person in charge then sighed while saying,
"Squeaky. It doesn't really help that he disappeared right after he came into conflict with you yesterday. If this incident cannot be resolved, do I even tell the Japanese military!"
When he first heard about Adler fighting with Aiden, he thought it would only end in a fight. After all, such incidents were not uncommon during competitions involving special forces.
Unfortunately, now that someone has disappeared, death is not completely gone. With that in mind, the entire situation became more troublesome than it should have been.
As the person in charge, he knew that he had to take responsibility no matter what the outcome. To be honest, resigning from his position was a light punishment compared to having to bear the consequences if his case turned out to be serious.
"That's for you to investigate. I hope you understand that it's none of our business at all."
Aiden replied as he waved his hand.
As Gerald had said, he had gotten rid of Adler last night, so all Aiden could do was act foolishly so that Gerald wouldn't get into trouble.
"yeah. All right then. You can continue the rest now. However, if you find anything, remember to report back to me as soon as possible."
Said the person in charge, knowing that he would get no further information from Aiden.
It is obviously not helpful that this newly established place does not have surveillance cameras. With that, all he could do was investigate the incident step by step.
To be honest, he did not need to immediately report the case to the headquarters. After all, if Adler was really killed, there would definitely be a trace of his crimes.
With that in mind, the person in charge predicted that reporting to the headquarters - and Yanam - about the case after he caught the killer, would definitely resolve the situation.
He also could not directly blame Aiden because he had no evidence. Japan, for example, cannot afford to offend Weston without solid evidence, and the person in charge is well aware of that.
Whatever the case, Aiden then nodded before replying,
"It will be done."
With that said, he then returned home, closing the door behind him.
Now that he was inside again, he made sure to close all the curtains and windows as well. Walking up to Gerald, he then asked,
"Brother Gerald. Did you really get rid of Adler?"
Before Gerald re-entered the house last night, Aiden clearly remembered hearing a faint voice outside. Although he was pretty sure that this wasn't Gerald's first rodeo in disposing of the corpse, Aiden was inevitably worried.
After all, he participated in a special forces competition. If evidence of the murder was found, it would definitely trouble him and Weston as a whole.
"Of course,"
Gerald replied with a faint smile.
"You didn't leave any traces, did you .?" Aiden Mumbled.
"Do you doubt my abilities?"
Gerald replied, lighting a cigarette.
"No, of course not. I'm just worried they'll find proof that we did it. After all, we are in foreign territory now. If they somehow manage to figure out that we're the culprit, then the whole of Weston will definitely be in hot water."
Aiden said as he shook his head.
If he alone bore that burden, Aiden would not be this worried. However, now the whole of Weston is involved.
Understanding Aiden's concern, Gerald then patted his shoulder before replying, Gerald,
"Don't worry, I've made sure to be extra careful while doing the deed. You won't end up in trouble."
Hearing that, Aiden then slowly nodded as he said,
"Well, if you're sure, I feel sure.!"
Moving back to the person responsible, he has decided to stick with his plan of not reporting the incident to the Japanese headquarters until he finds the killer.
However, to his disappointment, even after exploring the training ground, they were unable to find a single clue to where Adler had disappeared.
Currently, the person in charge was sitting in his office, and in front of him, stood the – special forces team belonging to the – headquarters that was specifically here to maintain order.
