Chapters 1989.

Gerald himself did not move in the slightest and took a sip of his tea. At this point, scenes like this were completely normal for him.

And just Whatever the case, there seemed to be more than a dozen men dressed in black, and all of them seemed ready to attack the bodyguards.

From what Gerald knew, the man in black looked quite strong and skilled. With that in mind, he doubted that the bodyguards would be able to deal with them, and after a while, it turned out that Gerald's guess was correct.

With most of the bodyguards severely injured or already dead, one of the middle-aged turned to glare at the man in black before growling,

"Who are you?! I'd like you to know that I'm Tanner Junas! Head of the Juans Guards Institute in Shontell! Dare to even attack Shontell's bodyguards. Do you all have a death wish or something?!"

"Cut off the cr*p and just hand the holy stone over to us if you want to live!"

Scorned what appeared to be the leader of the man in black.

After hearing that, Tanner could not help but frown. To think that these people would attack them when they were still quite close to Shontell!

No wonder his men managed to get through the rest of the journey without any problems! The enemy is hiding in plain sight!

"Fuck up! If you haven't noticed, we're only a few miles away from Shontell right now! I'm sure Armored Guard Shontell will arrive anytime now, so if you don't defeat him, you'll all die at the end of the day!"

Raung Tanner with a sharp look.

"Well! Let's see who dies first!"

The male leader in black clothes.

Hearing that, the other black-clothed men took it as their cue to start attacking again! With that, the battle continued.

Unfortunately, Tanner and his men are already in very bad shape. With that in mind, it wasn't long before Tanner finally had his arm almost cut in half!

Seeing his chance to attack the weak man, the black-clothed man leader was just about to deliver his final blow, when suddenly, a figure shot forward and stood right in front of him!

Before the leader could even realize what was happening, the figure - who was clearly Gerald - launched a palm strike right into his chest, it caused the evil man to instantly spit out a mouthful of blood as he was sent flying quite a distance!

Watching their leader then fall to the ground, dead, the other black-clothed men are asked to attack the next Gerald!

Even so, as always, none of them were as strong and capable as Gerald.

With that in mind, it only took him a few seconds to finish off the rest.

At that moment, Tanner and Yale were already staring wide-eyed at all the dead people in black clothes lying on the ground.

Tanner, for example, did not expect someone like Gerald would face all those strong people alone.!

Quickly awakened from his shock, Tanner then walked up to Gerald before respectfully saying,

"Thank you for your help, young man."

Hearing that, Gerald simply smiled casually as he replied,

"Don't worry about that. I just did what was right!"

"Humility like that... Please tell me your name, young man!"

"You can call me Gerald!"

"I saw! I'm passing-"

Before Tanner could finish his sentence, Gerald cut it off with a small laugh before saying,

"Heard you said it early. Tanner Junas, head of the Juans Guards Institute in Shontell, right? It's an honor to meet you!"

A moment stunned to hear him, Tanner then quickly snapped before clenching his fists and praising,

"It's an honor to meet you too, Gerald! Still, to think that a young man like you would be so agile and powerful! It's really amazing!"

Just a small laugh in response, Gerald then said,

"No need to be so humble, Captain Juans! After all, you must properly take care of your injuries first!"

Upon hearing that, Tanner realized that he was still quite badly injured. With that, he then sat down and began to treat his injuries.

Shortly after, an army of cavalry soldiers arrived at the inn. From the looks of it, this was the Shontell armored guard previously mentioned by Tanner.

Seeing them, Tanner immediately stood up and greeted one of the armored men, saying hello,

"General Lucarl!"

General Kay Lucarl was the commander of the Shontell Armored guards, and after seeing how injured Tanner was, he could not help but say in surprise,

"Captain Juan! That's a really bad-looking wound right there!"

"It's just a scratch!" Tanner replied with a chuckle.

Instead of laughing together, Kay got off her horse and started seeing all the bodies on the ground. While he was firmly convinced that a fierce battle had taken place here, he could not help but realize that all the enemies were dead.

With that, Kay was compelled to ask, though,

"Has any bandits escaped, Captain Junas? And is the sacred stone safe?"

"negative. All the bandits are dead! Also, no sacred stones were stolen!" Answer Tanner.

"What's? You managed to kill them all?"

Excited Kay who was surprised.

"Well, it's not fair to claim all the compliments. To be honest, this young man was the one who took out most of them! If it wasn't for him, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have lived to tell that story!"

Obviously Tanner while pointing towards Gerald.

Raising his eyebrows slightly as he looked at Gerald, Kay then replied,

"You're saying that this young man killed most of these people?"

"Indeed! I watched it all with my own eyes!" Tanner cried while nodding.

Of course, this surprised Kay. After all, how strong would it take for one to defeat so many men alone? Kay, for example, knows that not many people in Shontell are capable.

After a short pause, Kay shook her head before ordering,

"Male! Check their bodies and see if we can identify them!"

Doing as ordered, just moments later when one of the soldiers returned to Kay's side before reporting,

"General! Those black-clothed people seemed to be from Tygress Mountain!"

"Mount Tygress? So, there they are again." Furious Kay.

Mount Tygress is the name of a group of bandits who have terrorized Shontell for centuries.

They specialized in robbing escort cars and due to the fact that all of their members were very capable, they not only managed to rob a few escort cars beforehand, but Shontell's soldiers were unable to shut them down permanently.

It definitely did not help that the road to the bandit nest was very winding and windy. Thinking about it for a while, Kay then walked towards Gerald - who was currently enjoying his tea - before saying,

"I heard from Captain Juans that you brought all these people out. If you can, who are you, and where are you from?"

Hearing that, Gerald then calmly replied,

"I'm just a tramp who just happens to be here when all this happens. As for why I help, isn't it manners to help those in need?"

Gerald's response made Kay even more curious. To be honest, he still had not forgotten the fact that Gerald had defeated all the strong men from Tygress Mountain by himself.
