Gerald Crawford, The Invisible Rich Man

Gerald Crawford, The Invisible Rich Man
Chapter 1822-1823

Chapters 1822.

Lying on his stomach, Gerald - who was careful to be quiet while doing all this on the roof - then stared into the courtyard. Just to see that the bespectacled man was now standing right in front of Mario!.

How unexpected! From the looks of it, they seemed to be discussing something important. While their meeting was already quite astonishing, what happened next really shocked Gerald.

Eyes wide, Gerald could only stare as Mario took a dagger from his jacket and stabbed the bespectacled man right in the chest!

Mario appears to have stabbed the man right in the heart, as the bespectacled man died soon after.

As the bespectacled man fell lifelessly to the ground, Gerald saw his eyes wide open, a clear sign that he could not die quietly.

After all, with the man now dead, Mario then wiped him with the cloth he was carrying before putting the dagger back into his jacket.

Afterwards, Mario then shouted towards the house, prompting the two men to come out shortly afterwards.

"Take the body!"

Mario orders when the two men quickly nod before stuffing the now-dead bespectacled man into the sack and taking him away.

Of course, Gerald had witnessed all of this. To be honest, he did not expect Mario to be such a ruthless person.

To think that he would only kill his own client after getting his money. Moreover, that crystal skull now belonged to him again! How cruel!.

After seeing all this happen, Gerald was compelled to think,

"What's wrong with the world today... How heartless. He's already paid for the stuff, let him have it! At the very least, you can save his life even if you take that item by force!"

Whatever the case, Gerald felt lucky that he did not bid for the crystal skull when he was still on the black market. After all, who knew if he could potentially die like that bespectacled man.

Either way, Gerald then shook his head before returning to his party.

"Did something interesting happen..?" Juno asked curiously.

"Indeed. The glasses guy is dead!" Gerald replied without cutting his words.

"...Huh huh? Butwhy? And how?" Rey, wonder.

"Remember that auctioneer on the black market? That Mario guy? He killed!"

It was clear Gerald as he further explained what he had seen before.

By the time Gerald finished, Rey and the others were silent for a moment. To think that Mario is actually a very bad guy!

"Because he's doing murder very efficiently. He must have done the same to all his previous clients!" Juno.

Nodding in response, Gerald then replied,

"I believe so too. These people make money quickly without incurring losses!"

"How annoying!" Furious Rey.

Even so, there was nothing the four people could do. After all, the man in glasses was dead.

"After all, let's leave this place as soon as possible. Long stay here is bad news!"

Gerald said after a brief pause, now very aware of how the bad guys got into this city.

With that, the group of four then began to leave the area. Unfortunately, as it gets dark, Gerald and his entourage have no choice but to spend the night in town.

Interestingly enough, all the accommodation places here resemble ancient inns. After finding a rather inconspicuous inn, the four then decided to spend the night there.

Chapters 1823.

Upon entering the inn, Gerald looked at the innkeeper and exclaimed,

"Night! Any room available, boss? We have four people and we need two rooms!"

"Before that, where did you all come from?"

While Gerald and his entourage were supposed to be surprised, Gerald simply smiled before replying,

"We. The City of Swindawn! We're just here to relax!"

Hearing that, the innkeeper then nodded before saying,

"All right, then. Here are your two room keys! Your room is at the end of the corridor on the second floor!"

"Reserve it, boss!"

Gerald replied as he took the key and began to lead his entourage upwards.

Following the direction of the innkeeper, the group then walked to the end of the corridor. The women will sleep in the left room while Gerald and Rey will sleep in the right room.

In any case, Gerald quickly locked the door behind him as soon as he and Rey walked in. Now that they have privacy, Rey then asks,

"..I'm not sure if you noticed this, but the people in this town seem to give an odd look to outsiders like us. The innkeeper was no exception either."

"I understand, and I have a hunch that the innkeeper is not a good person either. With that in mind, let's take turns sleeping and keep an eye on the situation. I'll be the first one on guard, and we can switch places later tonight" Gerald suggested.

"That sounds good!"

Rey replied, feeling much safer now that Gerald suggested it.

At that moment, a knock suddenly sounded from Gerald's door. Raising an eyebrow slightly, Gerald then asked,

"Who is that?"

"That's the innkeeper! I'm here to deliver warm water!"

The innkeeper replied as Gerald and Rey exchanged glances.

gesturing for Rey to open the door, Rey then did as she was told. With the door now open, the innkeeper then entered with a kettle filled with hot water before placing it on the table.

Watching the innkeeper smile at the two of them, Gerald then pretended to smile as he said,

"Geez! How wise you are to deliver hot water to us!"

Chuckling in response, the innkeeper then replied,

"It was right for me to do it for my customers! Anyway, I'm here to tell you not to get out of the inn at night Not too safe out there in the dark. Try to stay in your room!"

After hearing that, Gerald and Rey exchanged glances again, wondering about what the innkeeper was talking about.

"Understand boss..! We appreciate the warning!"

Gerald said while cutting Rey's sentence.

Nodding in response, the innkeeper then replied,

"Good to hear! Also, if there is something you need at night, feel free to call me!"

After saying that, the two then watched the innkeeper leave their room.

Stepping out to make sure that the innkeeper had come down, confirmation that he had actually left made Gerald sigh in relief as he closed the door again.

"About what you did." Rey Mumbled.

"Some things aren't meant to be asked bluntly, Rey. Remember that," said Gerald.

Nodding for a moment, Rey then asked,

"Understand me, brother Gerald. Anyhow. After what just happened, do you still think that the innkeeper was a bad person.?"
