Chapters 1868.
Now that he knew that the caller was the one in charge of the Great Council there, Gerald knew it was best that he gave Harold face and helped him out.
"...All right, I'll be in your office in the morning!" Answer Gerald.
"Good to hear. I'd really appreciate your help, Mr. Crawford. I'll be waiting for you tomorrow!"
Harold said with a respectful tone before finally hanging up.
The Palace of Sacrasolis Gerald has always had a good reputation, even when it was first established. What better evidence of that statement than the fact that Gerald was the first person Harold contacted to solve this psychic case.
It is evident that Gerald's abilities are well known. Whatever the case may be, rest first, and the four of them enjoy proper sleep.
Early the next day, Gerald wakes Rey up and tells her that they are heading to the Great Council.
Just once they were in the car when Rey curiously asked,
"Why exactly are we heading to the Great Council today, brother Gerald?"
"You'll know as soon as we get there!"
Gerald replied, encouraging Rey to remain silent. Whatever the reason, at the very least, Rey was sure something must have happened.
About twenty minutes later they arrived at the Great Hall building. Once down from the car, the two were immediately greeted by the sight of Mr. Harold who was waiting for them at the entrance.
Looking at the two, Harold quickly walked towards them before welcoming them with a warm smile and saying,
"It's nice to meet you, Mr Crawford!"
"So too, Mr. Lee. I've brought my student, Rey, if you're wondering who this is."
Gerald replied in a polite tone while shaking hands with the man.
Hearing his name being called, Rey quickly added,
"It's an honor to meet you, Mr. Lee. I'm Rey!"
"The same goes for me! Anyway, let's go in before we get on with the conversation, okay?"
Harold replied with a smile.
It seemed that he was truly relieved by the presence of the two. After all, after they entered the Great Council building, the two were taken to a large meeting room.
Inside, many subordinates were seen working hard to solve the case. However, as soon as they saw Harold, Gerald, and Rey, they instantly fell silent.
Clearing his throat, Harold then shouted,
"Alright, listen to everyone! Allow me to introduce you all to Mr. Gerald Crawford and his student, Rey! They're here to help us solve this case, so let's welcome them warmly!"
Upon hearing that, all the subordinates immediately stood up and started clapping excitedly to welcome the two.
Naturally, they had all heard of Gerald before, and now that the real deal was in front of them, they were definitely overjoyed!
Now that he had stepped aside, Harold then gestured for Gerald and Rey to take their seats before saying,
"Well. Without further ado, let the meeting begin!"
With that said, his subordinates immediately went on to discuss the case.
After one of them came forward with a file and placed it on the table in front of Gerald, Harold smiled as he said,
"Please see the information we've collected about this case."
Nodding as he returned a subtle smile, Gerald then began to read through the documents.
Chapters 1869.
After reading it, Gerald couldn't help but raise his eyebrows slightly as he asked,
"Ah, he is a person who claims to be able to see the past, and also predict one's future. Quite a lot of people believe that he actually has the power to read these time-based events, so it's no wonder why he's become so popular these days. To be honest I'm surprised you've never heard of him before, Mr. Crawford," replied Harold.
With how busy he was, it was no wonder why Gerald had never heard of the man before.
Leaning closer to Gerald, Rey then whispered,
"I know about him, brother Gerald. I have read many of his articles and even seen videos about him before. The truth is, I think he's just a fake."
"Liar or not, we'll know once we're there!" Gerald replied in a calm tone.
Since Gerald wasn't really able to gather much of the information in the file, he knew that their next best bet was to head straight for the CTF.
After a slight pause, Gerald then closed the file before asking, Gerald,
"Can we head to the scene now, Mr Lee?"
"Of course!"
Harold replied without hesitation.
With that, Harold immediately - and personally - led the two to the CPI. TKP itself is a studio apartment located in Lotus Bay City Jhanglum.
The victim was a woman in her late twenties named Fay West. He had apparently died in his sleep the night before, and while that was alarming enough, the real shock came from two black fingerprints on the ceiling right above his head!
It doesn't help that other than Fay himself, no one else entered his house that night, as evidenced by his surveillance camera footage.
While investigators examined camera footage in his apartment for extra action, the end result was the same, Only he entered his home before his death.
What's more, after performing an autopsy on Fay's body, no sign of what had killed him was found! There were no wounds on his body, nor was there any trace of poison. That's really confusing.
After a day of investigating and not getting any new information about the unusual death, Harold finally decides to bring a big gun, which prompts him to call Gerald the night before.
Since Gerald is quite famous in dealing with psychics, Harold believes that he is the right person to help them solve the case.
In any case, the three soon find themselves stepping into Fay's studio apartment. As he slowly entered, Gerald's expression instantly turned sour.
The overwhelming feminine aura had completely enveloped the interior of the studio apartment. Since the human body is naturally composed of a masculine aura, an enormous feminine aura like this would definitely trigger a feeling of rejection.
Seeing Gerald's change in expression, Harold immediately asked,
"... Did you manage to find something, Mr Crawford?"
Shaking his head, Gerald then monotonously replied,
"No, although I must say, this place has an overwhelming feminine aura."
Afterwards, Gerald headed to Fey's bed before lying down. Sure enough, there were two different black fingerprints right on it. Of course, this shocked Harold and his men, even though Gerald paid no heed to them.
Instead, he simply closed his eyes and when he reopened them, a woman lay right next to him. Of course, he is none other than Fay West himself.
"Find something?"
Ask Fay in a curious tone.
Turning to look at him, Gerald then asked,
"...Why did you choose to believe in Lord Van Tage?"
Quite giggling in response, Fay then turned to look at the black fingerprint on the ceiling.
Just as Gerald was doing the same thing, he suddenly jerked away from the scene when Rey's voice called out,
"Sister Gerald! Are you okay?!"
Opening his eyes, he could not help but raise his eyebrows slightly as he looked towards Rey while asking, saying,
"What's wrong?"
