Chapters 1810.
Turning his eyes in response, Gerald then helplessly explained,
"It's not even an object. See, cultivators are the ones who deal with and control ghosts and spirits."
"Huh? So, like. Ghost hunters or what? Like the one on television?" Ask Ray.
"More or less. Either way, if you don't know yet, Miss Zorn and I are cultivators!" Gerald replied with a nod.
Since Ray had been with them for a while now, Gerald thought that it would be best if he knew about things like this.
Moreover, Gerald was honestly considering turning Ray into a cultivator as well. After all, if Ray became a cultivator, then instead of fearing everything, he could instead start facing danger himself.
Gerald, for example, was well aware that he and Juno could not stay by his side to protect him all his life. Just thinking about it is completely unrealistic!
"H-yeah? You two are cultivators.?" Ask Ray who is now wide-eyed.
Exchanging glances with Juno, Gerald and he then smiled before nodding towards Ray.
"Indeed, we. Now, my question is. Do you want to be one of them too?" Ask Gerald.
"...Whahuh? Can I be one of them too?" Said Ray.
Excitement in his eyes as he stared at the duo in front of him. To think that he was given the chance to become a cultivator!
How wonderful! Ray, for example, always dreamed of having martial arts skills as great as Gerald. If he managed to become a cultivator, then he would no longer need to rely on Gerald for protection.
Smiling at Rey's reply, Gerald then replied,
"Of course you can! Miss Zorn and I can definitely teach you the rope!"
"Then, yes! I want to become a cultivator, Mr Crawford!" said the excited Rey.
"All right then. From today onwards, I will be your master and I will teach you how to become a cultivator!"
Gerald replied, officially making Rey his student.
"Thank you for taking me under your wing, sir!"
Rey shouted, immediately changing the way she called out to Gerald as she knelt to the ground. However, before Rey could prostrate, Gerald quickly pulled her back while saying,
"Listen, while I have accepted you to be my disciple, you don't need to do this. I can't stand people kneeling in front of me all of a sudden!"
Hearing that, Rey then grinned in embarrassment, realizing that she was behaving like a person from ancient times.
Shaking his head with a small laugh, Gerald then added,
"Alright, relax. After all, the meat looks quite ripe so let's eat!"
After hearing that, the three then began to eat their dinner.
"I never thought that a wild boar would taste this fresh and delicious! It's better than regular pork!" Rey cried after biting.
In keeping with Rey's words, wild boar is much tastier and has a higher quality in general compared to regular pork.
"By the way, slice again the wild pork later and wrap it in a bag. We'll eat boar all day tomorrow and maybe even the day after tomorrow!" Gerald.
Gerald, for example, had definitely considered the idea. Unfortunately, carrying such a large corpse was too much.
With that in mind, the best course of action is to take just a small portion to eat. It would also not be in vain as the carcass was definitely enough to feed the many other animals in the forest.
Chapters 1811.
It was late at night when the three of them finally decided to return to their tents to sleep. Due to the boar incident, the three of them shared a tent.
That way, they can increase their chances of feeling danger and allow them to help each other if they are attacked.
Thankfully, everything was quiet that night, and the three got up early the next morning.
Leaving the tent as soon as he woke up, Gerald realized that there were already a number of birds feasting on the carcass of the boar, with most of them being eagles and vultures.
Gerald didn't tell them, and instead started packing. It was around nine o'clock when the three of them were already awake and ready to continue their journey into the depths of the forest.
According to Old Flint's map, walking through the phosphorus mountainous area would allow them to reach their second step. Of course, that's easier said than done.
After all, not only was his phosphorus mountain extremely vast, but the three of them had no idea what kind of danger was waiting for them there. With that in mind, they could only hope that they were quite prepared to face whatever obstacles they encountered.
Until now, they had already had to deal with the big boar and the Soul Hunter. A dangerous place. After all, it was about two hours later when the three finally found the river.
With that, they then decided to replenish their water supplies and rest for a while while they were there.
Now sitting on a flat rock, Juno found herself asking, saying,
"Say. Do you know how much longer we have to walk, Gerald...?"
Shaking his head, Gerald then replied,
"Not at all. Based on the map of Old Flint, all I know is that we have to walk through the phosphorus mountain area. Unfortunately, the map doesn't really detail how big the area is."
Just as they were wondering how big the area really was, an arrow suddenly flew past the three of them!
Immediately turning towards the direction the arrows were fired at, the three were greeted by the sight of several men - dressed in black clothes - with bows in hand!
"Soul Hunter!"
Shouted Gerald as he directly held onto Juno and Rey's arms before escaping with them. The Soul Hunters themselves instantly started firing shot after shot. It almost feels like a rain of arrows!
Thankfully, the three managed to take refuge in the forest.
"Damn it! How do we keep bumping into that bastard! How unlucky!" Grouse Rey.
"Please don't forget that the entire Soul Hunter organization is here. Since they have been divided into several small groups, it is inevitable that we will constantly bump into them while we are here!" Gerald.
After all, once they were certain that the Soul Hunters had lost track of them, the three of them could only sigh in relief before continuing their journey.
After what had just happened, the three found that it was safer to use the forest path than to walk on the river side.
Compared to walking in open areas - which allow them to be easily found and attacked - traveling within the forest will make them more difficult to spot.
What's more, there's also plenty of protection in the forest, making the escape much more plausible there. Whatever the case, about half an hour later they finally found a house in the middle of the forest.
"Say, did you see that, sir? To think that people would actually live here in the middle of nowhere!" Rey Exclamations.
