Gerald Crawford, The Invisible Rich Man

Gerald Crawford, The Invisible Rich Man
Chapter 1986-1988

Chapters 1986.

"I insist, brother Gerald! After all, I had no family to go back to and I was always alone. I've been living aimlessly for a long time, yet you managed to revive my hope in life! With that said, please take me.!" Please Yale.

With how pitiful Yale looked, Gerald couldn't help but feel sorry for him.

After thinking for a while longer, Gerald then sighed before saying,

"Good! You can go on one condition! You need to be more courageous! After all, I am useless to a coward! Am I making myself clear?"

"Hard and clear!"

Yale exclaimed, very happy that Gerald changed his mind.

For Yale, changing himself is nothing if it makes him a Gerald follower.

"Then it's done! With a step aside, let's find a place to stay first and while eating!"

Gerald said, encouraging the two to return to the city.

Since they now had so many holy stones, finding a place to live naturally was what needed to be done next. Fortunately, there are plenty of lodging in the city.

After checking in to a room, the two then ordered some good food and wine before chatting while enjoying their meal.

To be honest, Yale had never been treated this well before. Since he could enjoy all of this now, he felt that he had really made the right choice in following Gerald.

Moreover, Gerald was extremely strong, so with Gerald by his side, he could definitely stay safe.

As the saying goes, good things never last long. Unfortunately for both of them, the saying turned out to be true this time.

After all, the injured man from before was now actively hunting them with his gang!

Since Gerald had previously beaten up his men, there was no way he would let Gerald and Yale off so easily. He needs revenge.

It didn't take long for the injured man to find the inn where Gerald and Yale were staying.

Fortunately, after hearing the commotion outside their inn, Yale took his head out of their bedroom window. And immediately recognize the injured man!

His face was now completely pale in fear, Yale quickly turned to look at Gerald - who was lying on the bed - before whispering,

"Sister Gerald.! This gang from the casino.! They're here looking for us.! What should we do.?!"

Hearing that, Gerald headed to the window to take a look. And he was just in time to see the injured man rushing to the inn with his men!

Slightly frowning, Gerald then turned to look at Yale while commanding,

"Let's hurry!"

As Yale wondered what Gerald meant, his eyes widened as Gerald began to climb out of the window!

Although Gerald then easily jumped onto the roof-of the window sill, Yale was much weaker than him. With that in mind, even though Yale had finally managed to reach the window sill, he could not climb onto the roof!

In the end, Gerald could only sigh as he pulled the man up and just in time. After all, Yale arrived beside Gerald, and the two heard their door being kicked open! Of course, it was done by the wounded man.

Regardless, after the injured man and his subordinates entered, they immediately started searching the room. To their surprise and annoyance, the two were nowhere to be found!

Frowning, the injured man then glared at the innkeeper before growling,

"Where are they?"

"Hqh.?! But they never left their room! After all, I was downstairs all the time and I never saw them go!"

The astonished owner.

Raising his eyebrows slightly, the man with the scar realized - at that moment - the window of the room was left open. Squinting his eyes, he then headed to the window and looked out.

Meanwhile, Gerald and Yale - who were still hiding on the roof - made sure not to make a single sound.

In fact, none of them dared to breathe for fear of revealing their location.

Thankfully, it didn't take long before the two heard the injured man shout,

"Damn! They must have escaped through the window! Chase it! We'll get it if it's the last thing we do!"

After which, a group of angry men then ran away from the inn. Seeing that, Gerald then lifted Yale up and brought the two of them back to their room.

At that moment, the innkeeper had already cleaned the room. When he saw Gerald and Yale jump from the window, however, his eyes immediately widened.

Despite the innkeeper's first instincts to shout in shock, Gerald quickly shut the innkeeper's mouth before growling,

"Hush. Let's just say we're not here.! Look, no matter who comes asking about us, tell them you don't know anything. If word gets out about us, I'll make sure to end you before they take me away. Understood?!"

Before the innkeeper left, Gerald made sure to say,

"Again, if you say a word about us, you and your inn disappear from the surface of the planet! Understand!?"

Sipping in response, the innkeeper then replied,

"Y-yeah! I got it the first time."

With that said, the innkeeper then left the room, making sure to close the door behind him properly. For her sake, she knew it was best to pretend nothing had happened.

Either way, now that the innkeeper was no longer here, the worried Yale couldn't help but ask,

"A-do we have to hide here forever, brother Gerald.? Also, are you sure those people won't come back.?"

While Gerald can't say for sure, their best bet for losing track is to stay here for now. After all, as the saying goes, the most dangerous places are usually also the safest.

After thinking for a while, Gerald finally said, .

"Don't worry, we're leaving early in the morning!"

Hearing that, Yale immediately agreed. To him, the sooner they left the city, the better.

Fast forward into the night, Gerald and Yale did not dare to sleep. After all, there was always the possibility of being attacked in their sleep.

Still, Gerald couldn't help but feel that this was truly an ancient place. After all, as night fell, not a single soul was visible on the streets.

The people of the Autremonde Realm did not really have nightlife, and he had to admit that his calmness felt rather unusual.

Regardless, the two of them immediately set off once dawn broke. The earlier they left, the less likely they were to accidentally bump into the injured man.

Fortunately, it took only about an hour for Gerald and Yale to successfully leave the city. Now that they had made it out safely, Yale was asked to ask,

"So... Where is it now, brother Gerald...?"

Yale was naturally curious because he was going to follow Gerald around.

Upon hearing that, Gerald could not give an immediate response. After all, he was new to the Autremonde Realm, and he did not know this place very well.

With that in mind, Gerald simply answered with his own question,

"Tell me, where can we go from here? Also, among the options we have, which one will you choose?"

"Pulse... Well, we can get to Shontell if we head east. However, if we head west, we will arrive at Yahath. As for who I personally choose, I have to say Shontell!" Answer Yale. Hears

Hearing that, Gerald then nodded before stating,

"Hm. Well, it's decided! We're heading for ShontellI! Lead the way, Yale!"

With that, the two began their journey to Shontell. As they continue on, Yale makes sure to detail everything he knows - about Shontell - to Gerald.

After all, it is always good to know what to expect in new places. After all, Shontell seemed to be a large country in the Outremonde Realm, and it was also the home of Gardale City, a large and prosperous area.

Fast forward to a few hours later, the two - who had rested for a moment in between - finally arrived at the small forest located near Gardale City.

At this point, it was already past noon, and since the two had yet to have breakfast, they were practically starving at this point. Fortunately, they found an inn while crossing the forest.

From the looks of it, inns have been built there specifically for tired travelers who desperately need a break.

Whatever the case, the two immediately went in and ordered a meal. While they were patiently waiting for their food to arrive, the two of them could not help but look at the horse carriage - which was heavily guarded by a group of men - that had just stopped in front of the inn.

Even from the inside, the two could see that the wagon was filled with crates of various sizes, each labeled with a seal.

Guessing that the crates contained valuables, Gerald then turned to look at Yale before asking, and then,

"Do you know what they're doing, Yale?"

"Oh! They're just a delivery team, brother Gerald! Since the seal on the crate was labeled, 'The Shontell Treasure' it was reasonable to assume that it came from the Shontell Delivery House, and the crate contained a sacred stone!"

Obviously Yale as Gerald nodded in response.

As it turns out, the people of the Autremonde Realm still use the delivery service, as did the people - on earth - in the past.

Either way, Gerald and Yale were just about to continue talking about something else when suddenly, a dozen men - dressed all in black - jumped out of the bushes!

Seeing that, Yale's eyes instantly widened as he hid under the table before shouting, saying,

"Bandits!"
