Chapters 1776.
There is no easy way out of this. In the next instant, four wild vampires started attacking Gerald and Juno!
Watching their claws jutting out toward the two, Gerald quickly summoned his Astrabyss Sword before slashing the first wild vampire too close! And just like that, the slashed wild vampire was cut in half!
With their dead brother spewing blood, the other three wild vampires instantly began to retreat. After all, they now knew that Gerald's sword could not be taken lightly.
"Come to me if you're not afraid of death!" Gerald growled while glaring at the remaining wild vampires.
Seemingly understanding what he had just said, the three then turned around before fleeing.
While the crisis has now subsided, Gerald has learned that the wild vampire is actually rather shy. After all, they were easily frightened and fled so quickly.
Regardless, Gerald then put away his sword before saying,
"Well, let's leave this place before the wild vampire returns!"
With that, the two continue their journey with Gerald leading the way. And half an hour later, they finally made it out of the forest.
Once they were outside, Gerald immediately pulled out his phone. He had previously planned to contact Ray and the others, although the forest naturally prevented him from calling.
Whatever the case may be, now there's finally acceptance so it's about time he tries to contact Ray so they can regroup.
To Gerald's dismay, Ray doesn't pick him up. Slightly frowning, he then tried a few more times. But in the end, the result remains the same.
The fact that there was a beep when the call was trying to connect, meant Ray must have received acceptance. So why didn't he pick up Gerald's phone...?
Though unfortunate, Gerald had a hunch that the second possibility made more sense. After all, Ray was addicted to gadgets, so there was no way he would ignore his phone.
The fact that Ray still did not answer even though he received acceptance only reinforces Gerald's theory that something must have happened to them.
Seeing that Gerald was still trying to call Ray - after quite a while - Juno in question was encouraged to ask,
"...Do you think something happened to them, Gerald.?"
Furrowing his brows slightly thinking about it, Gerald's expression darkened as he nodded while saying,
"...That's very likely, especially since we met a wild vampire here. I have a suspicion that Ray and the others must have met them too!"
"What's? Then, they..." Juno exclaimed, his heart felt heavy.
"Don't worry, Old Flint is with them. If anyone knows how to deal with a wild vampire, it's him! With that in mind, wild vampires should not be able to hurt them so easily!"
Gerald replies, trying to convince Juno though he is also not so sure about their safety. Still, he just didn't want Juno to worry too much about them at the moment.
After all, the important thing now was to try to regroup with them. With that in mind, the two immediately began searching for members of their group at the edge of the forest.
Not long after, they managed to find a bag that was very similar to Ray's. After rummaging through it, they found his phone.
With that in mind, the bag undoubtedly belonged to Ray. No wonder he didn't answer Gerald's call. He has been separated from his bag and phone!
While they at least knew why he hadn't picked it up now, Gerald and Juno were also much more convinced that something bad must have happened to the rest of their group.
