Chapter 2059.
"No wonder your name sounds so familiar! So you really are the one who single-handedly brought out the three great families in Yanam! If I remember correctly, you caused the Yanam military a little trouble as well!"
Excited Fujiko's father.
Upon hearing that, Fujiko immediately looked at Gerald from a new point of view. To be honest, he had found his name to be strange as well when he first found out about it. To think that this is Gerald who has wreaked havoc on Yanam!
Realizing that she had brought something awkward, Fujiko's father then cleared his throat before waving his hand while adding,
"After all, there's no need to explain why you did it. I'm not interested in Yanam's affairs, and I'm sure you have a reason to do that as well. Putting all that aside, the important thing is that you save my dear daughter... If you don't intervene, he will... Well, whatever the case may be, from today onwards, you are the benefactor of my family! If you need anything, just say it and Futaba will try her best to help you!"
"I appreciate it,"
Gerald replied with a smile, glad he got into Fujiko's father's good book. That alone was enough for now, and Gerald knew better than to ask directly about the Seadom tribe.
"Indeed! By the way, let me introduce myself! As you probably already know, I am the father of Futaba and also the ruler of this family. You can call me Futaba Takuya."
Takuya said as he patted his forehead before extending his hand to shake hands.
"It's nice to meet you. My name is Gerald Crawford, and I'm from Weston."
Gerald replied while shaking hands with Takuya.
After their hands parted, Takuya thought for a moment before saying,
"Hm. From my previous experience, I felt that Hanyus should have investigated you. With that in mind, stay with us while I send my men to deal with them for you. Also, if you need something, just say it!
"It's okay, I can handle it myself. Although I'm interested to know why a family of killers like Hanyus - who even take job orders from outside Japan year-round - will get involved with your family."
Gerald replied while lighting a cigarette.
"It's a long story, to say the least. Historically, my family has always had a grudge against Hanyus, and detailing his story would take too long. Anyway, I'll have the nanny prepare some food for you first."
Takuya said as he shook his head with a smile.
"Well, I'm a little hungry."
Gerald murmured while patting his stomach gently.
Moments later when the sitter returned to the main dining room with some dishes.
While waiting for their food to arrive, Takuya makes sure to order his men to investigate how news of Fujiko's participation in the military competition has been revealed. He also instructed them to keep an eye around the hotel where Master Ghost and Aiden were staying.
Although Hanyu is technically much stronger than Futaba, under Takuya's guidance, Futaba becomes much harder to deal with by a murderous family. Takuya's vigilance, for example, comes from the fact that he loves his daughter dearly, and will do anything to keep her safe.
With that thought in mind, now that he was about to be killed, he desperately wanted to rush to Hanyus to ask for an explanation of all this.
Suppressing the urge to do so, Takuya then handed over some chopsticks to Gerald when he asked,
"By the way, what's the reason you came to Japan, Mr Crawford?"
"Well, my friend is a special forces soldier, you know, and I accompanied him to the competition. I'm also here to gather some information."
Gerald replied as he began to eat.
"Oh? What information are you interested in getting? Although my family is not very big, we still have quite a lot of connections in Japan. With that, share what you need to know. I might be able to help."
Takuya said as he looked at the young man.
"Don't worry about that, I'll look for the information myself."
Gerald replied with a smile, knowing full well that if he mentioned the Seadom tribe now, the two would instantly be on guard, and the last thing he got was that they became his enemies now.
Chapter 2060.
Since Takuya did not urge him, the meal soon ended without much to notice. Afterwards, Takuya arranges for Gerald to stay in one of the manor's top guesthouses. With the arrangement made, Gerald then bid Fujiko farewell before following the butler to his homily.
Upon arriving, Gerald could not help but whistle. Although this was just an ordinary house, this house was decorated very luxuriously. After all, a quick glance around revealed that there were two halls and three rooms throughout the house, along with all the basic living facilities.
After closing the door of his room behind him, Gerald then put down his bag and called Aiden. After the call was connected, Gerald first asked,
"How are things at the hotel?"
Realizing that Gerald was the one who called, Aiden then quickly walked over to the window before looking down and muttering,
"Well, there's enough people patrolling right outside our hotel, I feel like they're looking for you."
Hearing that, Gerald simply nodded. It was as he expected.
Watching the men continue to wander in front of the hotel - with some of them even occasionally going in and out - Aiden then added,
"Honestly, should I go down and get rid of them?"
"negative. If they're not looking for trouble with you, keep pretending you don't know anything."
Gerald replied before he hung up.
Realizing that Gerald had hung up the phone, Aiden could only sigh. Seeing that, Master Ghost - who was already too familiar with Aiden's body language now - could help but ask, asking,
"He told you not to move, right?"
"Indeed. He said that we should only strike back if they seek trouble from us."
Aiden muttered while sighing again.
"He's right, you know? After all, we are in Japan, and it seems we do not yet know how powerful or influential the other party is. Either way, offending them will most likely only cause problems for us. Also, I advise you to withhold your reckless personality. Otherwise, someday, you'll get us both in trouble. How are you gonna explain that to Gerald?"
Master Ghost said as he continued fiddling with his compass. Since the sea map was with Gerald, all Master Ghost could do was to continue counting and examining the divination's manifestations to predict whether Gerald would face danger.
"At least, I'm trying, aren't I? Why do you think I called Gerald before I moved?"
Aiden grumbled while scratching the back of his head.
He was not a simple-minded fool who only knew how to act recklessly! Still, he had to admit that he sometimes had trouble controlling his fiery nature. Even so, he was already determined to always ask Gerald for his opinion first before making a move.
"Points retrieved. Either way, let's go to bed early. Now that Gerald's been in contact with the Seadom tribe, we don't know when he needs our help."
Master Ghost said as he took a sip of water before returning to his room with a compass in hand. However, before Master Ghost could enter, Aiden grabbed the man's arm before asking, Aiden,
"Are you really sure that they are members of the Seadom tribe?"
"Nothing is certain, but it's possible."
Master Ghost replied, knowing full well that they could have been wrong. After all, they only had a few pointers, and the members of the Seadom tribe had done an excellent job of hiding themselves.
"All right, then."
Aiden replied with a sigh before shrugging his shoulders and releasing his hand.
Turning to Gerald, as soon as he woke up early the next morning, Gerald reminded himself that his goal was to find evidence to prove that Futabas was a member of the Seadom tribe.
With that in mind, he then prepared himself to start the day. To his surprise, as soon as he left his room, Gerald saw Takuya standing not too far away. Looking at Gerald, Takuya then beamed as he walked over while saying,
"Alright, you wake up early, Mr Crawford!"
