Chapter 2061.
"It's my routine."
Gerald replied with a smile.
"so. Anyhow, would you like to have some tea with me in my tea room? The tea itself was sent some time ago from Mount Wellyork in Weston. Also, I have a few things to tell you."
Takuya said as he pointed to the tea room not too far away.
Of course, Gerald did not resist, and before long, the two sat in the tea room. As Takuya prepared the tea, he told Gerald that his men had reported back to him earlier. After that, he added,
"After telling my men to go to where you saved my daughter last night, they discovered that Hanyus was already actively trying to find out more about you. With that in mind, I propose that you extend your stay with us until the danger is gone."
It was only after Gerald took a sip of tea - which Takuya had just served, - that he replied,
"I appreciate it. Still, why would Hanyus want Miss Fujiko dead.?"
While Gerald didn't want to provoke the murderous family any further, after thinking about it the night before, he thought that since he was already involved in all of this, he might as well get rid of Hanyus for good.
After all, it would definitely increase Takuya's impression of him, and it might be enough for him to start asking about the Seadom tribe.
"This is a long story. As I said before, Hanyus and our family have been enemies for generations. Unfortunately, the feud between our families has been a thing since I was a child. With that in mind, I never bothered to ask why we kept fighting, which is why I can't answer your question."
Takuya replied after sighing.
"So it's been going on for that long, yeah." Mumbled Gerald.
"Indeed. After all, I believe the current generation of Hanyus should not know why we are still fighting as well. We have only inherited the grudges of our ancestors without questioning them. Even so, our families don't usually fight each other for no good reason. If I remember correctly, our last big fight happened a few decades ago. With that in mind, I was honestly surprised that they made their move this time around, which is why I looked at it so seriously. Still, if Hanyu wanted to ruin this peace, the Futaba would not just sit around without resisting!"
Takuya replied in a stern tone, clearly showing how capable he was as the head of the family.
"So still, from what I gathered, the Futabas seem to have quite a high status in Japan. With that in mind, Hanyus shouldn't have declared war on your family - by trying to hurt your daughter - for no good reason."
Gerald said as he narrowed his eyes before sipping tea again.
"I believe so too. Whatever the case may be, we just need to see what my men report after they finish their investigation."
Takuya answered with a nod.
"That would be best. Either way, since I already know all this, allow me to help you."
Gerald said after thinking about it for a while.
"negative. Just by saving Fujiko, you've done a lot for our family. With that in mind, there is no way I would let you risk your life again just to solve my family's problems! I insist that you stay here until the crisis is over!"
Takuya replied as he quickly began to wave his hand as soon as he heard it.
"All right then."
Gerald said, not wanting to side with Takuya.
After that, the two began chatting involuntarily in the tea room, allowing Takuya to learn more about Gerald's situation as well.
However, as they chatted, Gerald also secretly scanned Takuya from head to toe. Because Fujiko has a Seadom tribe-specific pendant around her neck, Gerald believes that Takuya - as the head of the family, - should also have a similar accessory on her.
Unfortunately, even after searching long enough, Gerald failed to find anything related to the Seadom tribe on him. Even so, Gerald was not discouraged. After all, now that he knew the family, he could take the time to investigate.
Chapter 2062.
As Gerald and Takuya continued drinking their tea, the Hanyu had already toiled at their headquarters. After all, despite investigating through the night, none of them were able to find any relevant clues.
Apart from that, two men were seen standing in the hall of Hanyu headquarters, their heads lowered. One of them was left by Hanyu Saburo, and he was the one who attacked Fujiko that night. As for the other man, he was the core disciple of the Hanyu family - who had been sent to investigate the previous night, - named Hanyu Ryugu.
Sitting in the main seat in front of them was Hanyu Suijin, the head of the Hanyu family. Although he had not heard what they should report, he could already guess what their findings were because he had not received any news from them to date. Still, he was asked to ask, though,
"So, what's the situation like?"
"yeah. I headed straight there after Saburo told me about all this. Unfortunately, even though we searched the entire hotel as well as the surrounding area, we were unable to find any trace of them at all. I assume they must be gone by now."
Ryugu replied while resisting the urge to tremble in fear.
"Junk!"
Raung Suijin while slamming his fist into the table.
"With all due respect, sir, the man from Weston is very strong! Just so you know, he sent me flying with great difficulty! However, while investigating, we found that two people from Weston had checked into the hotel. Unfortunately, it seems like none of them beat me up." Saburo Mumbles.
"Looked? Didn't you see his face well?" Ask Sujin.
"Unfortunately, the moment she showed herself was a bit too dark. But I remember what he sounded like. With that said, I will definitely recognize him by voice!"
Saburo said while shaking his head.
"Like that would change anything! Whatever the case, we have spent three years planning this.! As long as we get Fujiko, we can definitely make Futabas affiliated with us! Still, to think that we will fail when we are so close to success! Not only did we miss our best chance to attack, but our operation will definitely face more problems now that Futaba will definitely be on guard! They might even try to find trouble with us because of all this!"
Furious Suijin, the angrier he got the more he spoke. In the end, the tip of his armrest - which he had been holding all along - ended up being smashed to pieces due to how hard his grasp was..!
Understanding that, Ryugu - who did not want Saburo to drag him into this, - thought for a moment before saying,
"Maybe it would be helpful if we issued an order all over Japan to find this person.? I, for example, feel that there is a good chance that we will succeed if we do. After all, he is very strong and he is not a native either."
"I did it before you two came back! Who do you think I am? Anyway, rest first. I'll tell you when we need to move again. Also, remember to keep an eye on Futabas whenever possible. Our best bet now is to send some of our guys to find out who Westoner really is to Futabas!"
Grumpily Suijin while waving his hands tiredly. Nodding in response, the two then turned to leave.
Fast forward to two days later, Gerald still lives with Futabas. Although Takuya has made sure to tell Gerald about the latest news he receives on a daily basis, Gerald isn't too keen on any of it.
After all, he was more concerned about how he would raise the topic of the Seadom tribe with them. However, while eating with the Takuya family that afternoon, Gerald inevitably sees Fujiko's pendant again.
Chapter 2063.
Knowing that he would never be able to tell if they were truly descendants of the Seadom tribe, then failing to learn about the secrets of Longing Island if he did not take the initiative to ask.
After a short meal, Gerald casually said,
"You know, your locket seems kind of special, Miss Fujiko."
"Oh? You mean this?"
Fujiko asked while pointing at her necklace.
"Indeed. The symbol on it was rather unique compared to the other pendants I had seen before. It makes me wonder if this is your family's ancestral pendant.?"
Gerald replied with a smile, making sure his tone remained relaxed and natural.
Smiling faintly in response, Fujiko then said,
"You have pretty sharp eyes. Actually, this locket is..."
"This is our family's ancestral pendant. But there's nothing strange about that."
Cut off Takuya before his daughter finished her sentence.
"Ah, so.."
Gerald replied, smiling.
It is clear that Takuya does not really want to talk about it, and from all the little clues he has collected to date, Gerald is pretty sure that Futabas is really a member of the Seadom tribe.
Sighing in relief as Gerald did not continue prying at him, Takuya then said,
"Pig-by the way... I'm afraid I need your help with something."
"Continue" replied Gerald.
"Well, I was hoping you could accompany Fujiko for a while after our meal. While it is still a bit dangerous out there and we have not resolved our issues with Hanyus, I assure you that this is an important issue. I'm not so confident in the other masters in our family, so I can only trouble you.."
Takuya muttered in a slightly embarrassed tone.
"Of course, I'm fine with that. Don'worry.
Gerald replied without hesitation.
Smiling in response, Takuya then said,
"I really appreciate it."
After their meal is over, Gerald and Fujiko leave the house together. Sitting in the passenger seat, Gerald-who is honestly still staring at Fujiko's pendant-wouldn't ask, but,
"By the way, where are we headed?"
After a short pause, Fujiko sighed before embarrassingly muttering,
"..I'll take part in a blind date..."
"What!?"
Gerald replied, his eyes widened as his jaw dropped.
"Basically, my father thought that our family was still too weak. With that in mind, if I were to marry someone strong, our family would definitely be able to remain at peace. It certainly doesn't help that Hanyu moves anymore."
Clearly Fujiko while shaking his head helplessly made it clear that he was reluctant to do all this from the start.
Even so, she was the young mistress of the family, so she knew she had to put her family first. Now understanding the point, Gerald was asked to ask,
"And, are you willing to go through all this...?"
"Not if I can help. Unfortunately, there really is no other way. At least I should meet them first. After all, if I end up offending that family, the Futaba will have no place left in Japan."
Fujiko said in a helpless tone.
Ever since she became the young mistress of the Futaba family, Fujiko's fate is no longer hers to be chosen. And he's been accepting it for years. Then again, it's good enough for him if he can contribute to his family.
