Ch. 85 – First Exchange

The two young men shouted the name of their opponent while smiling widely, with an extremely savage feeling in their eyes.

Everyone in the stadium was shocked by the first impact, as most of them could only see their movements when the two weapons had already met in the middle of the arena.

Two small blades struck his hand protector and stuck it on the stone floor beside him.

Roland swung the sword in his right hand without looking back at his right-back.

Leinn bounced backwards after changing the direction of his attack to withstand the attack.

Leinn hid his whereabouts perfectly, but Roland was already prepared.

As Leinn's feet touched the stone floor again, he began to run while swinging his right hand that held nothing.

Two shadows came out from the sleeves of his jacket and hurtled swiftly towards Roland.

His concentration was split apart and he swung his sword to fend off the two throwing knives.

His attention returned to Leinn who had put the horses low once and looked intent on jumping towards him, his hand already grasping the handle of the sword in his left hand.

Mana had already been sucked into his sword and was ready to be released.

Dust fog covered part of the arena and hid the condition of the blonde youth.

Leinn did not dare to lower his alertness and naturally, lightning light started to dance from within the fog.

The waves generated by the lightning dance spread a mist of dust and showed Roland grasping his lightning-covered sword with his right hand already raised high.

The sword that was still sheathed was stuck deep enough on the stone floor, then he extended his right hand towards the lightning wheel that was about to reach it.

“Wuoooh..!”

The lightning wheel exploded and turned into lightning that struck the young man. A shout came out from Leinn who was hit by the lightning wheel in a crushing manner, but strangely it did not sound like a cry of pain.

It lasted for a few seconds and finally subsided.

The young man who was just standing in the middle of the lightning explosion finally retracted his sword from the stone floor that had already been torn beneath him.

“Phew, it's quite scaring”

Other than some parts on her face that were covered in black stains, Leinn looked completely unharmed.

He then patted his jacket which showed a magic symbol along his two arms connected on his back.

This black jacket was the Runed Gear he had bought specifically for the reunion with the young man before him. It has secret pockets on both its arms that can hold secret weapons and their insides that have the same function.

Leinn also brought it in to be modified and successfully increased its defense against elemental attacks, especially lightning. Both of his gloves also had the same modifications.

So he was able to drain the lightning that hit him onto the stone floor below, which produced a two-meter-wide hole in the arena.

“You used a tool to help you..?”

Leinn showed a strange expression, like not believing what the blonde youth in front of him said. He pointed towards Roland while letting out a mocking smile.

“You dare say that while using that thing?”

Roland stood up looking at it with a flat expression. He also did not look injured after receiving the slash technique from Leinn, other than the long thin line on his body armor.

His gloves and leg protectors are of not low quality, but his body armor is on another level. This was a protector made especially for her who had only finished a few days ago, specifically to fight against the young man before her as well.

This protective suit is also Runed Gear that has a high defense, with a major advantage that is active when the user inserts Mana into it, then the defense will increase according to the amount of Mana entered for a while.

In the final moments before Leinn's sword wave could reach him, he used the Mana from his failed technique to increase his defense.

The result was a defense that was able to withstand that attack for that instant too.

The two of them could not help but give that serious expression and laughed loosely.

The two of them did not expect that their opponent would think the same of them, preparing themselves for this reunion.

The sound of the stadium's electrifying screams rang out from everyone in the stadium, shocking the two of them.

Leinn and Roland began to look around them and found the spectators who had started to stand up excitedly
