Ch. 13 - Negligence

“L-leinn”

Aura seemed restless walking beside Leinn, as she realized that the two of them were walking towards where Leinn was helping the supervisor Kurt and the two young men before.

He still had not received the slightest explanation from the young man beside him.

“Leinn!” Aura called out to him once more, this time more clearly.

Leinn woke up from his daydream and turned his head without stopping his steps.

“What's up?”

“A-what do you mean what's going on? Where do we go?”

“Oh, I have unfinished business in place earlier, seeing they are safe I just walk back to finish it” Leinn said casually.

“E-eh..”

The two of them had already walked for 10 minutes and after seeing the increasingly agitated Aura, Leinn finally began to explain the situation that had happened earlier.

The Giant Tarantula encircles the stone vaults until a large wolf fights the Giant Tarantula Broodmother and her children.

After hearing the story up there, Aura's eyes seemed to be wide open.

“...big wolf hairy white-redness?”

“Yap, the attack was quite deadly” Leinn considering the scratch that managed to injure Broodmother's body.

“...why did this Wolf Beast attack the Giant Tarantula Broodmother, was it because he felt challenged by that shout, or something else? It's too weird if it's just a coincidence.”.

Aura started muttering and seeing that she was not agitated, Leinn just smiled and walked back quietly. After walking for quite a while, the two of them finally got to where the two Beasts were fighting.

“Wow...” murmured Aura with admiration.

Or what's left of him.

Auras stunned at this scene, the corpse of the Giant Tarantula scattered everywhere and the trees seemed to fall, some even lifted from the roots.

His gaze began to move and found a single pile formed from the parts of dozens of Giant Tarantulas and fallen trees.

Leinn simply told the outline of how he saved the three, and the scene filled the empty parts of the story.

Aura's gaze was fixed on the tree furnaces that looked very smooth like freshly polished.

He did not know of the existence of a tool that could cut trees with this zither, let alone produce results that were identical to all trees within an area of 50 meters wide.

“...dammit, love...born a...” the culprit was singing a strange song while walking in the footsteps of the two Beast fight.

Seeing Leinn had no intention of explaining that, Aura just walked up to him without saying anything.

Leinn was able to see from the former fight that was moving away, that the Giant Tarantula Broodmother was seen trying to escape without success from the Wolf Beast chasing her.

It seemed like he was starting to run out of troops to serve as bait, looking at the corpse of the Giant Tarantula that had been steadily dwindling throughout their journey following that trail.

“...useless.. lament..” only Leinn chants accompany their journey, the songs are also not in accordance with their situation.

After walking for some more time, Leinn finally stopped his steps.

In front of him was the body of the Giant Tarantula Brood mother, lifeless.

His entire body was covered in wounds, six of his eight legs were already gone, his head was also already out of sight, and his body was covered in torn wounds, the result of his opponent's bite.

“whoa...” an amazed voice suddenly sounded from beside Leinn.

Aura was seen observing in detail the condition of the corpse of the Giant Tarantula Broodmother in front of him, researching it

Leinn only realized that Aura was not at all afraid of seeing the corpse of this Spider Beast, nor was she afraid of seeing the pile of Giant Tarantula corpses before.

It seemed like Aura's endurance was greater than she had expected.

Leinn began to step closer to the huge corpse and placed his palm on the body of the corpse.

Mana began to flow into that lifeless body.

Aura could see Leinn was doing something, but she did not recognize the Mana flowing out of her hand.

‘Purple?’

Leinn sheathed back his sword and inserted his right hand into the cut wound.

Aura became surprised to see that.

“L-leinn?”

After inserting his hand until his entire arm was out of sight, Leinn managed to pull out a nearly round crystal stone 6 centimeters in diameter. Faintly can be seen the brown fog moving in it.

“I-it Rank B Beast Core earth element!” Aura opened her eyes wide looking at the transparent stone in the young man's hand.

Leinn had finished rinsing his hand and the stone with water removed from the bottle in his hand, which was seen to be leaking water beyond the capacity of the bottle. Leinn then closed the water bottle and kept it in his big bag.

He looked at the Beast Core in his hand with detail, then threw it at the girl in front of him.

Aura raised her right hand involuntarily and managed to catch it.

“Eh?” Aura realized what she had just done.

“Please take care of it while ya” Leinn said as she pointed at the stone.

Aura looked at the Beast Core in her hand, then back at Leinn's face.

“Eh?” the same confused voice came out from his mouth again.

“Let's go” he didn't wait long and started walking again.

Not getting the explanation she expected, Aura could only put this Beast Core in her clothing pouch and return to walking with the black-haired young man.

“Hm..”

Leinn realized the trail the Wolf Beast left behind had droplets of blood, it seemed like he was injured quite heavily after fighting with the rest of the Giant Tarantula and Giant Tarantula Broodmother.

“He's not far away anymore-“

Gruuu~

A small voice sounded suddenly from behind him, cutting his sentence.

Leinn stopped walking and turned her body around, then found Aura standing still with both her hands hugging her belly.

His face had already become extremely red, realizing Leinn had heard the sound of his stomach.

“M-maaf” says Aura quickly.

Leinn just stared at Aura without saying anything, then realized that they had not rested since they started walking from this morning.

Other than not realizing Aura was feeling hungry, she was also unaware of the sweat drenching Aura's face.

THUD

Leinn took off his big bag and let the bag land hard on the ground, then he started grabbing and taking out the bag of dried meat from inside the big bag.

With one move he threw the meat bag at Aura, who caught it with both hands.

“We will rest here” he said while sitting under a tree nearby.

Looking at that already seated Leinn, Aura also sat on the grass not far in front of Leinn.

He realized there was something strange about Leinn's expression, which seemed to be pondering something.

‘Is he mad at me?’

Aura began to think that Leinn was unhappy about being forced to rest for her, slowing down this journey.

Would he be a burden as he had expected? Will he really be left alone? Negative thoughts began to spiral out of his control.

“Maaf” says Leinn suddenly.

“...eh?”
