The nearly full moon can be seen peering among the clouds that fill the night sky, providing limited natural illumination on a large mountain that is in a different state than usual.
The mountain that was already brightly lit.
“Haiya!”
Booms!
A giant chunk of ice smashed into the face of a giant toad and managed to scrape away the red rock protecting its body for a while, before the lava flowing out from its back covered the place and formed a new protective stone.
Hinata landed and saw a 10-meter-high chunk of ice her embrace that had started to melt and finally turned into water in just a few seconds.
The large amount of water finally flowed past the legs of the two girls who were quite far behind Hinata with pale faces.
“Hah... hah.. this is not... there is an end?”
“...ya”
Adeline had just seen a chunk of ice her creation fail to deal fatal damage to the Disaster Beast on the mountain peak. The scenery around him started to look blurry and the stick in his hand also felt very heavy.
The aura standing beside him also looked extremely pale and was still trying to remain standing while looking at the back of Hinata who was launching her attack after attack on the Beast nonstop. His feet had almost no power at all and needed Clear's help to keep him standing.
“Ei!”
Booms!
It's been four.. five hours? The sun had long since sunk by the time this fight was going on. The Disaster Beast was apparently able to suck out the extremely pure Mana Fire from the volcano to form a powerful protector outside of its body and also heal the wounds he received.
Plan after plan they had tried without one succeeding.
First they tried to fight normally after seeing Hinata beat up the Disaster Beast without the slightest problem, but finally realized that the healing ability was absurd.
They then tried to lure the frog away from the volcano, but he instead started shooting lava from its back in all directions and intended to blow the volcano out once more.
Trying to attack him with Adeline's flagship ice magic? He directly attacked the two of them with a large amount of lava rain regardless of Hinata attacking him continuously. Basalt and Twig were severely injured to protect the two of them back then.
“A...yo...!”
Adeline began chanting her incantation again and a magic circle began to form in front of her, which eventually resulted in 10 meters of ice. This was not attack magic or anything, just ice-forming magic using Water Mana that turned into Ice Mana.
Basalt immediately walked over and directly hugged the large chunk of ice, then lifted it with one smooth motion.
“Hoh... hoh!”
The muscles of his arms can be seen clearly when he lifted the chunk up on his head and then immediately threw it with all his might on the volcano.
Woosh!
The sight of a 10-meter-tall chunk of ice floating in the air did look strange, but it had already happened a dozen times over the past hour alone.
Just before the ice chunk hit the Disaster Beast's head, Hinata suddenly appeared between them and directly extended her hand towards the ice chunk.
Bham
“A...aah!”
BOOM UP!
“Ribbit!”
A violent Mana wave instantly appeared and pushed the white-haired girl along with the surrounding pieces of ice away from the toad. The time resulting from this wave was enough to let it cover the part of his protector that had been torn apart again.
“Hup!”
Hinata landed in front of Aura and Adeline along with water droplets that instantly evaporated when it touched the surrounding land. Fresh blood could also be seen not stopping to flow out from his already discolored arms and legs, from the part of his arm that was not charred from hitting the hot body of the Disaster Beast directly.
“Uh..”.
Aura let out a feeble voice upon seeing those injuries and started to clasp her staff even tighter, showing a helpless face. He was from the beginning of this fight only able to turn the Fire Mana into Pure Mana for the use of Adeline's magic because whatever it took out would only be the food of that fire frog.
Aura also found a hint of her confidence in her white flames becoming deeply wounded as she realized the flames could not heal Hinata's wounds at all. Though the fire could still heal Basalt and Twig without the slightest problem, but it would be instantly extinguished when it touched the wound on Hinata's body every time she tried it.
“Uh... This is the last one..”.
Adeline threw the red bottle she had just pulled from the pocket of her robe at the white-haired girl in front of her, then fell to her feet and closed her eyes. This was his most comfortable position to recover Mana in a place that was extremely unsupportive for an ice mage like him.
Aura also knelt down with her staff still stuck on the ground and started chanting incantations once again, which formed a huge red magic circle that began to rapidly spin under them.
Hinata actually has a very unreasonable self-healing ability and should be able to heal a wound of her current level by sitting still for a few minutes, but the toad in the distance was seen to have started to gather a large amount of Fire Mana into his mouth to launch a single large attack, not giving him such discretion.
Tap
Hinata disappeared from where she was standing before the empty bottle she threw touched the ground, leaving the ground torn apart behind her.
Adeline began to regain her strength after gathering the Mana produced from the Aura magic circle that transformed Fire Mana into Pure Mana beneath her.
Aura could also see that the Disaster Beast had already managed to gather all the Fire Mana it needed and started to raise its head, intent on spewing out his attack towards Hinata who was already on the verge of reaching him and all of them were behind him.
“Hah...hah.
From the level of power it emitted, this attack was the strongest attack it had used since this fight started and because of their position, Hinata would not be able to avoid it.
If the newly recovered Hinata were to be injured once more, they would be in a very disadvantageous position. They won't be able to hold on until they're both-
“...ah”
Very small, but clear.
Aura could see a speck of light in the night sky in the distance, which was starting to approach at a very high speed.
The new Adeline opened her eyes to cast her next ice spell and also noticed the spot of light that had already turned into a line of light that extended from that distance.
Hinata who was running also realized that and immediately stopped her steps, then jumped back with all her strength.
The last to realize the light was the Disaster Beast on top of that mountain, who saw a speck of light that instantly turned into a blinding light in the blink of an eye.
“Rib-“
Crackle-booms!
