Humanity Return
Ch. 14 – Heroes?

Jolted awake from her imagination, Aura looked at Leinn's face in confusion, not understanding the reason she apologized to him.

Leinn did not stare back at the girl in front of him and simply lowered his head.

“I didn't realize your condition and forced you to follow me constantly, even though we still have a lot of time but I was in a hurry. Take it easy, we can complete this test with more relaxed course-“

“T-no!” sideline the Aura firmly.

Leinn was surprised to see Aura jumping to her feet suddenly, then started walking and stopped in front of her who was still sitting leaning against the tree.

“E-eh, no... what?” ask him confusedly.

“Leinn is not wrong! You are not wrong!” aura answered, almost shouting.

“O-oh” felt that intensity, Leinn felt a little depressed.

Aura was already sitting right in front of him with a very serious expression.

With her big eyes and tightly shut lips, that serious expression of hers should not look pressing at all, but Leinn could only see a new intensity coming out of her.

“Leinn did that just for thinking of saving people who were in danger! That's not the wrong thing! Leinn finally managed to save them, and you also believe.. p-believe..” Aura spoke excitedly, but her sentence started to get broken in the end.

Aura finally also realized how close the two of them were to the face, then started to move back awkwardly.

A few movements followed and he stopped five meters in front of Leinn.

“k-you trust p-me, therefore k-you also saved me...”.

The sound, smaller than the wind around them, managed to reach Leinn's ears.

“Pfft... Hahahahaha...!”’.

Leinn reacted with a loose laugh while covering her face with her palm.

Seeing Leinn who suddenly burst into laughter in front of him, Aura could only stare in bewilderment.

After a while, Leinn finally stopped laughing and wiped a drop of tears that came out from his right eye.

“hahah... it was very nice” Leinn said with a big smile on her face.

“A-what's good?” aura asked confusedly.

Aura's tone became slightly higher, as she couldn't find anything funny in the sentence she had spoken.

“I don't understand how you can see others in a different way than when you see yourself, and your sentence describes me like a hero” Leinn shakes his head.

“E-eh..” Aura became reminded of the negative words the night before...

Including Leinn's words that night.

He simply lowered his head, hoping that Leinn could not see his expression.

“T-but you really went to help them, and you also helped me for no reason!”

Aura conveyed that without lifting her face. His voice was still firm, even though it was a few decibels lower.

“I am not a hero, I only help people I want to help, and I help you.” suddenly Leinn fell silent, realizing he could not find the right word.

Leinn began to search for the missing word in his mind.

Noticing the young man in front of her suddenly stopped talking, Aura began to peek without raising her face, trying to read Leinn's expression.

And after a while, Leinn seemed to have found the word he was looking for.

Feeling quite satisfied to have managed to find the word he was looking for, Leinn smiled widely.

Aura was silent for quite a while, and a barely audible voice came out from her mouth.

“a-what mean-“

“Sitting without doing anything like this is so boring, do you want to hear me tell you a story?” leinn suddenly said.

Surprised by the sudden offer, Aura raised her face.

He still has a lot of questions and by hearing the story he might get the answers he was looking for.

So he just nodded his head.

“Alright! So this happened while I was on my first mission in Ironforge to find a lost cat. I shared the mission with another Hunter, because we took it at the same time. So we start with..” Leinn began to tell stories while looking up at the sky with a smile on his face.

Aura realized this story was Leinn's experience while being a Hunter in Ironhoge, so she became more and more interested.

...

“... and BOOM! The werewolf hit the wall behind me. The thick fog of dust and the cloud-covered moon made it a little difficult for me to dodge his attack, my clothes were then slightly torn apart. As he crawled out of the hole, the sound of warning bells rang in the watchtower. Jack managed to warn the city guards about this situation, then I.” Leinn vividly described what happened with the movement of his two hands.

The aura was already immersed in the story, with his hand grasping the meat pouch tightly and his eyes already barely blinking.

...

“...with a call from the owner, Mii woke up and stopped her claws in front of my face, I also managed to divert my slash that almost cut her off. The Warlock's laughter stopped when he saw that Mii had already dashed towards him with claws preparing to tear his body apart. Every shadow that appeared to bind Mii managed to be slashed before I managed to reach it. Mii's attack managed to split her body into pieces and everyone there thought the fight was over after seeing it, it turned out.” the story looks to have almost reached its climax...

The aura had forgotten to close its mouth, its eyes that were fully opened were already like emitting light.

...

“...it turns out Mii's body can not be returned as before, but Sam only laughed after hearing that and conveyed how happy he managed to get back together with Mii. He also said he couldn't calmly pay us with gifts for the mission to find the missing cat, so he made a spear for Jack and a sword for me. And that's the story of how I got my Night Moon sword this”

Leinn placed his left hand on the sword that was leaning beside him while smiling lightly.

“Oooh!”

Aura clapped her hands after hearing Leinn's story, admiring the story.

This was the first time Aura had heard someone's adventure story directly from its source, a feeling that she could be quite different from the hero stories she read when she was a child.

Seeing that response, Leinn felt a little embarrassed and scratched his head. He had not expected the story to be so interesting to Aura.

“It seems I was too excited to tell you, are you ready to walk again?”

“Ya!”

Aura looked excited and prepared to jump to her feet as she noticed the empty pouch on her lap.

Leinn had already stood up and started to carry his big bag and then hung his sword on his waist again. He seemed ready to walk when he realized Aura was still sitting on the grass, motionless.

“What problems are there?”

The aura did not immediately reply and showed an empty transparent pouch in his hand.

“A-I spent it all...”
