Humanity Return
Ch. 127 – Go

The sun has moved down from the top of the sky, making the atmosphere not too hot compared to an hour before.

And on one side of the academy, right near the gate was a black-haired young man standing leaning against one of the medium-sized trees with a transparent blob that was shaking in front of him.

They had just arrived at this place and chose to wait for a moment.

“Kyuu?”

“Should be any minute - aha!”

Rumbles...!

And just as it reacted with the young man's words, a strong tremor could suddenly be felt by everyone there.

Some of the people guarding the gate looked extremely shocked when they sensed the change and began to search for the source, then immediately found a giant snake that was moving rapidly towards them from a distance.

“Psssht...!”

The snake was visibly aware of the identity of the young man and the transparent blob, which was also looking towards him. He started moving more excitedly towards her.

“Tenlah”

A light pat from the back of the snake's head managed to resuscitate him, followed by a large amount of runes spreading from the cloth surrounding his neck.

“Psssth...!”

“Hu-ahp!”

The snake instantly shrank for a moment before hitting the black-haired youth, who was pushed three meters away and managed to stop himself from hitting the ground.

“Hm”

The blonde-haired youth landed near the young man who was lifting the four-meter-long snake while laughing, who then turned towards the transparent blob beside him.

“Hey”

“Kyuu!”

Finally the guards recognized the identity of the giant snake, which was the Contracted Beast of the blond-haired young man who had just jumped up and landed beside the black-haired young man who stole their attention earlier.

After a moment of hugging the snake, the young man finally let him down and started talking to the newcomer.

“This, Beast Nest is more than two months old near a village that is quite far from here, and the details.”.

Leinn who had some free time while walking and waited for Roland's arrival chose to check out the mission details of his, then found some pretty good features.

“...finish! Check Linkermu”

Roland pulled out his Linker and found a new message coming in, which looked a little different than a regular message. A few presses and a selection screen appears in front of him.

‘Rank B+ Mission: Cleaning Beast Nest in Greentree Village. Accept/Decline’

Roland turned his head once more towards the face of the young man in front of him before finally pressing the ‘Accept’ option, followed by mission details that instantly appeared and could be accessed from within his Linker.

“...”

Roland began to quickly read through the contents of it and finally slightly understood what Leinn meant by the content of the message he had received earlier. A Rank B+ Mission that should only be completed by a Party consisting of five or more elite Rank B Hunters, or an ordinary Rank A Party Hunter.

“So, why do you need me?”

Something that shouldn't be a hard thing for Leinn.

Indeed the current state of their bodies did not allow them to show their full abilities. But after training and resting for the past month, the two of them had already been able to use nearly 30 percent of the strength they had displayed during their previous final fight.

And their biggest weakness right now, which was the stamina recovery speed that was still very slow, should not be a big problem when fighting Beasts under Rank A.

“I... don't have money to rent a car?”

“...”

Now he understands also the reason part of the message, specifically asking him to take Twig with him.

“Psssht?”

It turned out that the shameless young man in front of him wanted a free ride.

“So... Why do you need me?”

“Bo...nus?”

Roland instantly showed a wide smile on his face, which was reciprocated with a wide smile from Leinn as well.

...

“Adeline...?”

“...”

Aura looked at the girl beside her who had not spoken much since she had come to her room in the afternoon earlier, who had been getting less and less vocal since this morning. He only occasionally looked at his Linker like he was waiting for something, and repeatedly looked disappointed.

Now they were walking to the Magic Theory Class by noon and he looked still not improving, and Aura had already managed to guess what the reason for Adeline's state was. There really is only one thing that can make it this way.

“Roland..?”

“Ha?! Where?!”

Adeline looked around excitedly before turning her head towards Aura with a smile on her face.

The aura that saw that could only show a clear worried expression. Realizing that it seems his guess is correct.

“What happened between you and Roland yesterday?”

Adeline finally realized that Aura had only managed to guess the problem that was weighing on her mind and she again became moody. He began to check his Linker once more before giving an answer.

“...I cannot contact Roland... does he...”.

“Can't... contact?”

The Linker system possessed by the Red Dawn academy was something that was also set up by other major academies in recent years, constituting one of the greatest inventions of this generation of mankind.

But due to limited manpower and cost, the construction of connecting towers could only be built within the Five Great Cities, causing most of the Linker's features to be used only within those cities.

The exception was a large-scale magic circle to make temporary connections around it, something that usually only existed in Medium-Scale Missions and above.

So if a person cannot contact someone else, chances are that he or she has been blocked by that person, stopping him or her from texting or seeking information directly about that person.

Or one possibility is...

“...Roland went out of town?”

“...eh?”

Adeline looked as if she had regained consciousness upon hearing that, then the parting sentence from Roland started to spin around in her head and became more reasonable. It seemed that in his state of shock he was unaware of that extremely reasonable possibility.

“...wait a minute..!”

Then he was also reminded of one important thing and immediately pressed his Linker a few times quickly, seen trying to contact someone.

Bzzz!

Aura who stood beside the girl could clearly see the red ‘Failed Connection’ writing that appeared on that screen and became surprised, because the name of the recipient was ‘Leinn Springleaf’.

Several scenarios instantly revolved around the pink-haired girl's head and of course, her last conversation with Leinn in the previous afternoon also appeared.

“Mission Center..”

“What, Aura?”

Aura looked back at Adeline who seemed to be frowning her forehead, which had turned her worries into anger.

“Siang yesterday I..”.

Aura began to tell Leinn's exchange and situation to Adeline, who finally understood the outline of the story. Knowing this was not a strange deed without his usual reason made him not as angry as before, just a little annoyed.

Along with the end of that story, they managed to reach the building where the Magic Theory Class would be held this afternoon.

“Baik”

Adeline instantly changed the direction of their travel destination, to a place they had never been since entering this academy.
