Ch. 126 – Situations Sucks

“Roland?” leinn said as he raised one eyebrow.

He did not expect the name of the young man to be mentioned here, all of a sudden.

“Yes, the two of you are the only Rank A Hunter in this year, there will be no problems that will happen if you do this Rank B+ mission together.?” Isla began to be unsure of his suggestion, seeing the young man in front of her look completely uninterested.

“Hm..”

Leinn began to think again, as he was not too sure he wanted to go settle this with Roland. Not because he doubted his abilities, but because there was a chance that this mission would become extremely boring.

“U... Only Rank B students and above can accompany you on this mission..”.

“Huh”

Now Leinn became even more confused, because other than Rank Roland whom he had just known, he had never known Rank Aura and the others.

Isla seemed to be aware of that confused expression and remembered about one important thing.

“You can see your colleague's Rank in your contact list, if they don't hide it”

Leinn looked a little surprised after hearing that and started fiddling with his Linker again. This time he started to press a few buttons and of course, a letter appeared next to the names in front of him.

“Roland... A, Aura... A, Adeline... C, Hinata... empty?, Lilya... Uh, Uther... A, Setanta... C”

And the list of names stopped there. It seemed that only Roland could be her choice.

Isla became shocked when she heard the row of names, not expecting herself to accidentally know such information.

“Um..”

The extremely famous Flameheart Aura had never come out of the Flame Heart Clan residence and Adeline Aimer was also known to spend most of her life without coming out of the Ice Palace, the two of them should not have been able to become a Hunter before entering Red Dawn Academy.

The two of them also spent their time in the Library or some other class, never visiting the Mission Center at all.

So he also learned that Princess Flameheart and Princess Aimer still had Rank F when entering the academy, and had not visited the Mission Center for the past month either. That meant they managed to reach Rank C with just the Merit from class assignments, something that first-year students should not be able to achieve, let alone in the first month.

Leinn is seen rounding out his options and begins fiddling with Linker in hand-to-hand

“Ah..”

Then he looked like he remembered something, fell silent, then looked at Isla who was waiting for him.

“Isla, lend your Linkermu to me”

“Sure..”.

Isla only realized when her Linker was already in the hands of Leinn, who was pressing a few buttons quickly.

‘Eh?’

Why would he give his Linker to a young man he just met?

“Completed!”

Leinn put Isla's Linker back on the table and showed her a big smile.

“And as a thank you sign from me, I gave you a number belonging to a handsome young man!”

With one blink of a farewell eye, Leinn turned around and walked away from the building.

“Kyuu!”

“Ah..”

Clear shot out his tentacles and jumped after Leinn who was about to get out of there, leaving the receptionist who had been stroking his transparent body ever since.

And with like the wind, the young man and the Beast disappeared from the building.

The atmosphere returned to its original state, with the group at the table starting to talk about what had just happened.

“Isla... hey!”

Sophie touched the shoulder of the girl who was sculpting while looking at her Linker.

“Ah...ah! What's up?!”

“Are you okay..?”

Sophie let out a short question, but she also found out what the girl in front of her was thinking.

Isla herself did not answer the question, she just grabbed her Linker located in front of her and slowly started checking her contact list and of course...

“Eh..?”

Sophie started to approach slowly and peeked over to look at the screen...

“Pfft...!”

A surprised voice did not play out from between his lips, looking at the one name on the contact list.

‘Roland Azure’

...

“Hm..”

“What's up, Roland..?”

“There is nothing”

Adeline showed a curious expression when she saw Roland who suddenly changed his sitting position and furrowed his brows when he heard one of the teacher's explanations in front of their class.

“I feel... there is something annoying that will happen-“

Ding!

The notification sound suddenly sounded quietly from Roland's pocket, a sign from the incoming message.

“Hm?”

Roland did not have many numbers listed on his Linker, other than Leinn and Hinata who had already turned off his notifications, Adeline who was with him, and...

“What...?”

Roland's flat expression showed a slight feeling of bewilderment when he looked at his Linker screen, as it turned out that he did not recognize the name that appeared on his screen.

“What is the content of a message from the Aura?”

Adeline had also realized that only messages from Aura might come in and still make a sound at this time, but the reality turned out to be different.

“Looks..ah”.

That thin confused expression turned into an understanding expression, which turned into an annoyed expression.

Crackles...

A small lightning bolt leaped from the edge of Roland's left eye who was letting out a smile that was very different from what he usually showed Adeline the past few weeks.

“Um... t-Young Master Azure..

“Sorry, I need to go, now.”

“r-Roland..!”

Roland immediately jumped to his feet and stepped out of the room, followed by Adeline behind him.

Just as they reached the hallway outside the classroom, Roland closed his eyes.

“Roland!”

Roland immediately opened his eyes and smiled slightly at the confused Adeline, but the girl could see the smile on the young man's face was not currently being aimed at her.

“I need to go, won't be long”

“Hah..?”

Rumbles...!

The building they were standing in felt began to tremble, the longer it got stronger.

“I don't have much time to explain, so wait when I get back”

Roland directly extended his hand which was immediately greeted subconsciously by Adeline. After grasping Adeline's hand with both hands, Roland then let go of her hand and immediately turned around and jumped out of the window.

Rumbles!

The tremor also stopped along with Roland who was lost from sight, followed by a much stronger vibration that shrank with time.

Adeline who realized immediately ran to the window and looked out, then found a giant snake that had moved far enough in just a few moments. The feeling of confusion started to swirl rapidly, unable to understand what had just happened.

“Eh..?”
