Humanity Return

Humanity Return
Ch. 25 – Heroes Blazing Sun City

The normally calm forest began to look very agitated, as the forest dwellers had noticed the group of humans entering the forest to hunt them down and began to show various kinds of reactions.

The small beasts began to hide, the weak Beasts began to stand by and run from the slightest sign of danger, and the large Beasts that prepared an ambush for the new hunter.

Of course there were always exceptions, such as two large Beasts walking leisurely in the middle of this tense forest.

“Hoh?”

Gorilla Beast and Wolf Beast, two very different types of Beasts that should be impossible to walk together, were walking side by side in one clear direction, towards the same place.

“L-leinn!”

“H-Huh?! What's up?”

The little girl could be seen sitting on top of the huge Wolf Beast comfortably, then calling out to the young man who was about to fall off the shoulders of the Gorilla Beast beside him.

Hearing the call, the young man jumped up and began to improve his sitting position. He also looked towards the source of the voice.

“Hehe sorry, this weather makes me sleepy” Leinn said as she stretched her back

“Good..”.

Aura again lay on the Wolf Beast's back, hoping that Leinn would not notice her turning towards him earlier.

They had already walked for ten minutes and the distance they had traveled was also quite far. The size of their mounts allows speeds that do not match their number of steps.

After passing by one fairly large tree, Leinn suddenly let out a question.

“I remember you saying your first brother made a Contract with the Holy Bird?”

Hearing this Aura immediately jumped up to sit down and looked at Leinn with eyes that looked almost radiating light.

She was a little happy that Leinn had actually heard her story that night, and was even happier to have the opportunity to tell her first sister's greatness.

“YA! At the age of 8 my First Brother had shown his genius potential with his Soul Vessel which reached 20,000! With his hard training he managed to make a Contract with Rank A Immortal Bird Beast Suzaku who lived on the mountain where our clan stood! After two years of running various missions with ease, Big Brother has finally become the youngest Rank A Hunter in the Gaiafell continent! She is ‘Hero Matahari’ Blaze Flameheart!”

Aura finished explaining all of that in a short time and began to stabilize her irregular breathing.

Looking at that expression and his spirit, Leinn could only nod his head. He was already a little curious about that older brother Aura admired.

“Rank A Hunter, huh... What kind of beast he managed to hunt.”.

Leinn stared at the leaves on the huge tree in the wind, imagining a powerful Beast that he had yet to meet.

Aura immediately showed an excited expression, preparing to tell Leinn again.

“Of course! Their first Rank A mission was a huge lake that underwent drastic changes. The water inside turned turbid and gave off a pungent smell, which made the Beasts living around the lake run out in search of a new source of drinking water. This caused Beasts from Rank F to Rank B to run attacking the villages around that lake.”.

The aura looked quite conscious to regulate his breathing this time and told a quieter story.

Leinn was seen concentrating on listening to the story, along with the two Beast who kept going.

“... so seeing Rank B Beasts also escaping from this lake, the Hunter Guild assumed whatever caused the lake change required at least Rank A Hunter to check it out. So the First Brother team was assigned to check and if it could, restore the lake as before.”.

...

“. After his last failed attack, the Abnormal Ghoul King fell down and did not wake up again, then his entire 120 meter body turned into dust and returned to the ground. The other Hunters cheered in delight and since First Brother received all the big attacks that came, the result was that not a single Hunter was killed. After this absolute victory he finally got the nickname Hero of the Sun! Now almost everyone already thought of it as the second coming of Rudeus”

“Ooooh..”.

Within that hour he had heard the story of Blaze Flameheart's great adventure, and not a few Rank A Beasts that he had managed to defeat.

Leinn started counting the numbers.

“Deadly Poison Gigantoad, Red Ghost Bandit, Golden Fur Boar, Ancient Terracota Automaton.”.

At least he defeated 10 Rank A Beasts and some of them were General-Class Beasts who had over 1,000 followers.

The highlight was the biggest fight he had participated in, the Night Defense Blazing Sun.

The attack that was thought to be the end of the city, saw them already surrounded by an army of more than 20,000 Beast formed by Beast Rank C and B, with some even reaching Rank A. The defense of the city consisted of only 500 Rank B Hunters and 10 Rank A Hunters only.

“Abnormal Ghoul King Leinn uttered the name of the Rank A King-Class Beast that led the attack.

After the four of them dove into the middle of the Beast's sea and reached the Ghoul King in the middle, where the fierce fight began

They continued to be surrounded by Beasts trying to stop them, but it was not too influential looking at their abilities that were not small. So they concentrated most of the attacks on the leader of the troops in front of them.

In the end the Ghoul King sucked his subordinate Beast and gained strength that reached the peak of Rank A Beast. This battle ended with Blaze's slash that managed to stop the Ghoul King's final attack.

“Blaze Flameheart.

Leinn smiled widely, his desire to meet the city hero Blazing Sun was getting higher. He already had some things he wanted to ask inside his head.

Aura just stared at Leinn's face without saying anything, imagining what the young man was thinking.

Right at that moment they could finally see a huge stone cave.

“Hoh, so here ya” said Leinn amazed

“Ya-AAAA!”

Before Aura finished answering her, the Wolf Beast below her suddenly sat on the spot. That tilted position made Aura start rolling backwards quickly. Before he could hit the ground, the wolf's huge tail managed to stop him.

“Hue?” losing all that momentum, Aura managed to land unharmed.

Leinn looked at the Wolf Beast who did not care about him, smiling. He then stared at the stone cave in front of him.

Aura stood up and patted her dress, returning her wand to her back.

“Are you okay?” leinn asked without looking.

“I-iya, I'm fine” replied Aura, still a little shocked.

Leinn and Aura began to try to look inside the cave and did not find the end, the illumination that was less than sunlight made it a pitch-black passageway.

The aura created a white fireball and threw it in there.

“Hoh..” Leinn looked amazed to see the fireball continue to float until it was no longer visible.

It seemed like the cave extended all the way down to the underground, seeing that its length did not match the size of that hill.

“Alright, I'll be in briefly”
