Ch. 31 – Surprising Greetings

After walking for quite a while, Leinn finally made it out of the forest.

Following behind him was Aura who was riding on Rufus and the Gorilla Beast who made no sound at all during that trip.

“Finally we arrived at also” said Leinn with a satisfied smile.

They found a vast meadow with tents that could be seen from where they stood.

Leinn began to inspect the foreign tent, as he was pretty sure he had not seen it the day before.

The aura behind him reacted differently, seemingly knowing the identity of the new tent.

“It was a temporary camp established by the academy supervisor who served as a place to rest and store goods. The campground is also a place for prospective new students to report their work”

Leinn turned to Aura while pointing at the camp in the distance.

“So, we're there now?”

“Ya”

They began to walk there casually, until they saw a tower outside the camp.

It seemed like it was the watchtower where the supervisors were watching the state of the forest behind them.

Someone in the tower saw the movement from within the forest and found two Great Beasts were walking towards him. A feeling of panic instantly filled his entire body, and he began to stuff his Mana into the large crystal beside him.

Whooong...!

The sound of sirens burst out violently in all directions, shocking all the supervisors and prospective disciples who were inside the camp as well as those who were still inside the forest.

The aura was greatly startled by that exploding sound and Leinn just put on a puzzled expression while looking at the watchtower.

“What will be the problem?” Leinn pointed at the watchtower that was making that very loud noise.

“I don't know..” Aura became panicked, not understanding what was going on.

And at the same time, ten people wearing the same clothes came out of the camp with their Beasts and ran to where they were standing. They had all already grasped their weapons and formed an attack formation alongside their Contracted Beasts..

Rufus seemed to dislike this newcomer and lowered his body, preparing to attack the group.

The Gorilla Beast beside him also looked excited at the new challenger.

“T-wait!”

Before the new group could launch their attacks, Aura had already shouted and waved both of her hands in the air from above Rufus' back.

After moving close enough, the front guard of them managed to realize the identity of the creature above the Wolf Beast was a little girl. They were also aware of Leinn waving with a smile towards them beside the Gorilla Beast who was taking a fighting position.

“Stop!” the supervisor raised his right hand.

The other nine supervisors started to stop running and could also see the pink-haired girl and the black-haired young man. They all showed shocked expressions when they realized the meaning of the scene before them.

The supervisor who looked like the leader of the group began to call his closest supervisor and give an instruction.

Upon hearing that, the supervisor directly pulled out a green-colored tube with a long rope on one side. He pointed the other end towards the sky and pulled the rope hard.

A green ball floated out of the tube.

Booms!

The green fireworks exploded and could be clearly seen in the afternoon sky.

Moments later the loud siren suddenly stopped and the atmosphere of the meadow calmed down.

Leinn's group and the group both walked normally and ended up facing each other.

“Pardon our misunderstanding, our guard told us of two large Beasts walking near the campground and we only reacted to the situation

The leader of the watchdog group raised his face and spoke to Aura, a smile could be seen on his face.

Aura realized her high position and asked Rufus to lower her.

“And congratulations on successfully making a Contract with this incredible Beast, Aura Flameheart”

“You recognize me?”

Aura managed to land in front of the young man and was a little surprised he knew her true identity. The young man simply smiled and nodded his head, then turned his eyes to Leinn.

“Yes, and I want to thank you, Leinn”

“Sama-sama” Leinn replied with a smile on her face.

The supervisor looked surprised, not expecting Leinn to give such a reply.

“L-leinn, do you recognize it?”

Hearing that question, Leinn turned to her side.

“Not”

“U-uh”

The leader of the group let out a small cough and began to explain.

“Ehem. My name is Bart Lannister, vice-chairman of the test supervisor this time. I want to thank you once again for saving the life of one of our members”

This young man had a face that showed the calm nature he had. With a height slightly exceeding that of Leinn and light brown hair, it formed a model of thorn hair that was longer than the watchdogs that Leinn had rescued from within the Giant Tarantula's previous nest.

They both have very similar faces.

“...Oho! No problem”

Leinn needed a few seconds before realizing who the young man Bart was talking about was.

Seeing this Bart could only smile awkwardly, he did not expect the young man before him to have almost forgotten the life he had saved a few hours before.

Aura realized something from that new information.

“Lanninster?”

Hearing this, Bart turned his head towards Aura and gave a small smile.

“Yes, Kurt Lannister is my sister too. We are only one year different and he is my junior in academy”

“O-oh..”.

“He also wants to apologize for this commotion” Bart calls one of his followers to his side.

It turned out that he was the same supervisor as the supervisor who lit the danger siren after seeing them walking closer to the encampment.

“M-forgive me! I-I thought you guys were starving Beasts who-“

“No problem”

Leinn just waved his hand, looking unconcerned about the small matter.

Seeing that expression, Bart realized the young man before him did not regard the previous incident as a problem then this matter was finished just like that.

He offered to take them to see the test supervisor's teacher to report their results.

“Baik”

Leinn accepted the offer before Aura could reject it.

Eventually the other nine superintendents returned to their respective positions in the camp and Leinn's group was now accompanied by Bart and his giant mole.

“Kyuu?”

“Cit”

Clear was seen watching the two-meter-long brown rat from above Leinn's head during their trip.

Bart attempts to start a short conversation to fill the time, with not good enough results.

Leinn had only given a short answer to the question he had asked and Aura was too awkward to have a conversation with the person she had just met.

“Hm..”

Leinn looked around the campground and found a few people who took this test as well. Most of them were seen together with the Beast beside him, from the clean to the wounded.

Aura following Leinn's gaze also saw the Beast there.

“It seems that most Contracted Beasts here only have Rank C....?”

“Yes, you're right”

The one who answered Aura's question quickly was Bart, who looked delighted after finding a topic that caught the attention of the two people.

Bart began to explain that the prospective disciples who had successfully completed the test today were the ones who were lucky enough to find a Beast that was a match for them and most of them could only contract with Rank C Beasts.

He then looked at Rufus and the Gorilla Beast who were walking beside Aura and Leinn.

“Of course the exception is always there”

Not long after, they reached the biggest tent in the middle of the camp.

Aura raised her gaze and became stunned to see that gigantic tent in front of her.

“You wait here briefly”

Bart and his Contracted Beast entered the tent first, seemingly informing Leinn and Aura of the supervising master inside.

Not until a minute had passed could an authoritative voice be heard from inside the tent.

“Come”
