Ch. 67 – Evolution and Reasons to Fight

Spectators across the stadium were silent and could not believe what they had just seen.

That transparent ball, the Contracted Beast of the black-haired young man split apart just like that due to his opponent's attack.

Brick's savage gaze reduced drastically along with the return of his senses, he seemed to have not expected his attack to split one's Contracted Beast in two.

Roland was seen opening his eyes wide enough, showing himself also surprised by the situation.

Adeline who checked on Clear the day before also covered her mouth in disbelief.

Aura had even dashed towards that arena with all her strength, but her steps started to slow down when she saw Leinn who was just standing there scratching her head.

“Um, sorry. You suddenly spoke earlier a little surprised me”

Brick heard the vague apology and felt puzzled, until when he felt a sudden movement nearby.

“What..”

His eyes opened wide when he realized the two halves of the ball he had split had turned into a puddle of water that had started moving on its own.

The two puddles of water started flowing over the arena floor towards Leinn who was looking at him with a wide smile on his face.

“Good morning, princess sleep”

The two pools of water came together and began to shake violently and then spun up, reshaping into a single wisp of transparent living water.

“Kyuu!”

Leinn managed to catch Clear leaping onto his face with both hands. Seeing his embrace being held back, Clear began to tremble miserably.

“Kyuu..”.

“Hahaha, I missed you” too

The meeting back between the Contractor and his Contracted Beast, a touching sight.

Some onlookers smiled at Leinn who was twisting the Clear in both hands and others looked at the Beast with a puzzled expression.

The reason for their confusion was very simple, Clear looked unchanged at all. He was still the same size and not a single Core could be seen inside his body.

They concluded that his evolution had failed.

“Alright, let's start again”

Leinn lowered Clear onto the stone floor and returned his attention to Brick who was still waiting for him to finish the reunion.

“Although your Contracted Beast has woken up, I won't fall that easy”

Along with his words, Brick began to run towards Leinn with his big axe.

His eyes changed color again and Mana began to seep out from his body.

Leinn did not move from where he was standing and turned towards Clear who was beside him, who received information from him and jumped into his palm.

“Hap!”

“Kyuu!”

Leinn throws Clear high enough, past Brick's approaching head.

Feeling something strange about the move made Brick look back.

He and the audience around them became very surprised by what Slime was doing.

“Groar!”

“Kyuu~”

Two long tentacles came out of the transparent body and tied around the bear's neck before he could react, the Slime had already landed on its head.

The bear immediately swung its claws to release the slime that was attached to its head, but Clear managed to make his move first.

His big claw hit Clear's body and could not deal the slightest damage, he continued to attack Clear who had already covered both of his eyes.

The audience at the stadium was quite surprised when Clear turned into metallic black, some of them also recognized the Slime skill.

Brick who was looking at his Contracted Beast who looked like he was wearing an iron helmet opened his eyes wide.

“[Harden] with this rate... Rank B Metal Slime?!”

He returned his attention to Leinn who replied by shaking his head.

“Clear is Clear”

Seeing that his opponent had no intention of giving an explanation, Brick continued his steps and immediately swung his axe.

Mana seeped increasingly profusely from Brick's body, especially from both his eyes and arms that were seen to give off thick steam.

Explosions after explosions could be heard whenever the huge axe touched the stone floor in front of it, unsuccessfully hitting its target.

Brick realized the vision of his Beast was already covered by his opponent's Slime, making him only able to rely on himself.

Each blast sent thick new dust into the air, blocking everyone's vision. This lasted for three full minutes, until Brick ran out of power.

The dust fog started to subside and showed the result of that successive attack.

In front of Brick who could barely stand any longer it was Leinn who was grasping his sword in his right hand, without the slightest injury.

Everyone in the stadium breathed in surprise when they saw the arena, looking at Brick who was standing in the middle of the arena that had been torn apart by the attack of his full strength while Leinn who was standing three meters in front of him was still on the intact stone floor.

At the center of the five meters area of destruction was a half-meter wide circle that was not touched in the slightest.

Brick saw that and immediately fell down, his eyes that looked at Leinn showed a feeling of surrender. Even the strongest attack in a place that was in his favor could not make his opponent take it seriously.

He saw that the bear behind him was also already lying exhausted after attacking his own head without successfully releasing the Slime.

Then his friends, who followed him since before he started making a fuss.

Leinn started to smile after seeing something from the eyes of the young man in front of him.

The audience around him began to feel something strange with the black-haired young man's head, seeing his behavior was very difficult to guess.

Brick glided for five meters and lay staring at the sky above the stone floor.

Brick raised his face and saw Leinn was stepping closer to him with a smile on his face.

He began to raise his body to stand up and realized his ax was where he had been sitting before.

The teachers and senior students at the stadium saw Brick's well-ordered breathing, realizing Leinn had drained Mana into his body to replenish his opponent's supplies.

Brick also realized this and grew confused.

“...what do you mean?”

Leinn replied by placing his right palm on the handle of his sword and closing his eyes.

“Hm, a little difficult here..”.

He was seen muttering softly and after ten seconds in that position, he reopened his eyes.

“Hah..” Leinn let out a long sigh and again stood back up casually, letting out a light blue-colored steam from his mouth.

Blue mana began to seep out from his body, shocking the entire audience at the stadium simultaneously.

Isaac even showed an expression of disbelief and shouted from his seat.

“Overflow Pure Mana in the middle of the ocean Where is the Land?!”
