The night sky today was very cloudy, making the meadow and forest quite dark.
From within the already very quiet camp, a group of people moved silently.
The ten people wearing robes that covered their faces and bodies were seen starting to move after seeing Leinn walk away from his tent.
They began to walk slowly, trying to go undetected as they approached the tent in the middle of the meadow.
“Chairman... are you sure this will work?” whisper one of them to the person walking at the very front of the group.
“Take it easy! We just need to finish off that little Slime then escape before he returns”
The cloaked man in the frontmost position who looked like the leader of this group pointed in one direction, where Basalt was sitting on the grass.
“T-but aren't there still two Rank B Beasts in there?”
“Whisper once you! I'm calm!”
They were getting closer and seemed to be using magic to hide their existence because Basalt was still not aware of the ten people who approached him.
The leader of the group looked at their target once again, Slime above the head of the huge Gorilla Beast.
“Alright, are you guys ready?”
The followers behind him nodded their heads. With a swing of his right hand as a sign, they began to move quickly.
Basalt seemed to be aware of the movement and turned his head towards them.
“Hoh?”
“Width!”
The group instantly broke into five groups of two and began to disperse.
Basalt began to stand up and prepared to launch his attack.
The group looked one step faster and they threw a black ball, which exploded and turned into thick smoke, enveloping the area.
“Hoh?!”
Losing his eyesight, Basalt began to panic a little.
Five knives floated simultaneously from five different directions to his face, and he intended to avoid them until he remembered that Clear was still on top of his head.
“Kyuu!”
“Hoooh!”
Using both of his palms, he protected Clear from the attack.
Blood began to flow from his hands and scatter his face. The knife on the back of his hand was also seen emitting a bright red-colored light amidst the thick fog.
The leader of the group seemed to be using a tool that let him see the situation inside the thick fog clearly and could see their first attack had not succeeded in eliminating the Slime, he said, so he pulled out a small whistle.
Whistle...!
The leader of the group blew the whistle with all his might, ordering the next attack.
The ten people started shooting different types of magic towards that red light.
Boom...!
The attacks continued to float through the air and landed on the body of Basalt who was just hugging Clear and using his body to protect him, not giving him the chance to retaliate against the foreign group's attack.
The sound of Aura's cry was enveloped by the explosion of the attack and Rufus did not let Aura approach the foreign group, his huge body protecting Aura and his ferocious gaze was fixed on the group's leader.
“Damn it!”
The leader of the group started to feel panic looking at the Beast that had yet to fall after receiving a full attack from them and the giant wolf that could find it within that thick fog. He realizes they have failed to complete their mission and intends to give the order to retreat...
Booms!
Two shadows floated past both sides of his face very quickly. Looking behind him, he found two of his men lying there, motionless.
He quickly saw the direction the body was hovering in and also realized their smog had disappeared due to the wave of the attack.
There stood the black-haired young man with a cold expression who was looking back at him.
‘Danger!’
The group felt the same way, realizing the young man in front of them was not someone they could beat by numbers.
Their entire bodies were screaming to run, but they could not lift their legs that were like they were attached to the ground.
They were not even aware of Aura and Rufus who were already standing not far away from them.
“Hah..”.
Leinn looked at Basalt who was injured for protecting that Clear, then a tired breath came out of his mouth.
He did not expect that anyone would go after Clear, and because of his negligence Basalt got unnecessary injuries.
He stroked his forehead while starting to look at the eight-robed people.
His cold gaze swept over the eight people who were still standing there. One of them managed to take one step back in fear, then floated up and landed on top of the bodies of the two people who were behind their chairman, not moving anymore.
“Huh?”
Leinn was already standing there, moving for 10 meters without any of them realizing he was moving and attacking their members.
Unable to process all that, the group leader raised his right hand.
“Tung-“
Bam Bam's
Two bodies floated again, five bodies piled up. The outstretched right hand was late to anything.
Leinn looked over and saw that hand.
“You are the leader of this group..?”
“Y-yes!”
A suffocating sensation filled his body from just the young man's small voice, making him answer involuntarily.
Seeing this dangerous situation, the remaining four people immediately jumped in front of their chairman.
“K-chairman, a-what should we do now?”
“A-what?”
Realizing after hearing that voice, he looked at his remaining subordinates and realized they had failed.
Biting her lips, she gave her orders.
“Restreeting!”
[Reap]
His sentence was cut short when he realized he was already in the air, staring at a familiar body. Body without head...
“Huh?”
Body itself.
“AAAAAH!” the leader of the group let out the toughest screams ever issued in his entire life.
And Leinn reappeared in his sight.
He had already fallen to the ground with both of his legs already unable to move, realizing his head was still stuck to his body. He touched her neck repeatedly to make sure of that.
‘Illusion?’
The sensation of death that enveloped him was too real, his entire body believed that he had died. He also realized his four subordinates had already fallen on the ground, unconscious with foam coming out of their mouths.
Tap
The sound of those extremely small footsteps could be heard filling his head, making him realize that the young man was walking towards him. He could see the purple mist coming out of his body moving closer to him, and the death sensation he had felt before began to fill his entire body again.
Tap
Leinn stood there, staring at the man sitting in front of him.
“So, why are you guys after Clear?”
“...!”
He felt how close he was to death, until tears began to gather in his eyes. He began to open his mouth to answer that, but his voice could not come out due to the fear that was suffocating his neck.
Leinn looked at the man in front of her not giving an answer and began to close his eyes.
“Alright if you don't want to talk”
That purple mist on his body seemed to be getting fused even more.
The chairman was still trying to speak without success and he saw the man in front of him reopen his eyes.
“No difference”
His black eyes had already turned bright purple, and the gazes from those eyes were like they could pierce the souls of everyone who saw them head-on.
[Lilena]
Fog... The purple mana became increasingly concentrated and began to form a human silhouette, hovering behind Leinn. Hands, feet, and long hair began to emerge from the silhouette, and he began to stretch out his new hand to touch the man kneeling in front of Leinn.
A moment before that hand could reach his face...
“Leinn!”
