Humanity Return
Ch. 8 – Anger

It was not until one minute that Leinn ran, that he had already managed to find the source of the sound.

Two young men were running with all their might from the five large spiders, and they were seen continuously shooting small magic to increase the distance between themselves and their pursuers.

Leinn jumped and landed between the two groups, stopping the movement of the group of pursuers.

“Big is also this spider” said Leinn while looking at the group of Beasts in front of him.

He lowered Aura from his shoulder with one smooth move.

Aura did not give an overreaction, considering this was the second time she had been raised by Leinn

“That Spider Beast Giant Tarantula. From their size, it looks like they have reached Rank C” Aura said after observing the huge spider.

The five spiders are roughly the same size, about 50 centimeters wide, with black feathers and some long white feathers covering their entire bodies,

Their eight legs did not stop moving, like looking for an opportunity when their opponents were off guard to give a finishing strike.

“Rank C... they don't look as strong as yesterday's bear” Leinn raised his eyebrows after seeing the spider's hairy body.

“Not all Beasts in the same Rank have the same strength as well, and not all Beasts get their Rank from their physical strength alone. Giant Tarantulas have a dangerous poison in their fangs, one bite could cripple a Beast in the same Rank in less than a minute”

“Hoh... Poison yes?” Leinn noticed the liquid dripping from the fangs of the five spiders in front of him.

Aura began to examine the area around them seriously.

“The most dangerous characteristic of the Giant Tarantula is that they never ventured alone, and this group is also too small, they used to make a nest containing 30 to 100 Giant Tarantulas with one Giant Tarantula Broodmother, and they used to make a nest of 30 to 100 Giant Tarantulas, Rank B Spider Beast as parent”

Not finding another group of Giant Tarantulas around him, Aura pulled on Leinn's sleeves.

“Be careful, their main group may not be far from here”

“Then, I have to finish this quickly ya”

Leinn was seen putting up low horses with his right hand already gripping the handle of his sword.

“Return a little bit, but don't get too far from me” he said without taking his eyes off the spider in front of him.

Hearing this Aura immediately took ten steps back and took cover behind a large tree.

“S-already!” yelled Aura from there.

The two men who escaped from the spider realized their pursuer had suddenly gone missing and found someone standing in the way of the five Giant Tarantulas.

They stopped running and took cover behind one of the other big trees.

Click-click

The five Giant Tarantulas began to approach the humans who blocked their path slowly, step by step.

That unpleasant sound appeared every time the Giant Tarantula moved their legs.

CLICK-CLICK!

One Giant Tarantula that was within five meters of Leinn made the first move, directly using his eight legs to jump powerfully. His poisonous fangs approached Leinn's head very quickly.

Bham

And his attack missed, passing Leinn who took one step to the side.

His hairy body slid for three meters and then stopped moving.

The two people who saw this scene looked extremely shocked. They could see the attack fail to hit the foreign youth, then the huge spider smashed into the ground and fell silent.

The aura that stood closer was still only able to catch a glimpse of the light that appeared when Leinn pulled out his sword. What followed was that the spider had fallen to the ground, with its body and head already separated.

CLACK-CLACK

Seeing his brother killed without understanding the reason for making two other spiders attack Leinn simultaneously, aiming for his shoulders and stomach.

“Clear Sky Style”

This time, just as the two spiders entered the area two meters from him.

[Biriz]

Eight flashes of light were seen passing through the bodies of these two large spiders, and Leinn immediately jumped high.

The two spiders that had just jumped at him fell down where he had stood before, splitting into smaller pieces.

Leinn landed next to the Giant Tarantula who was still waiting.

CLACK-CLACK

Seeing this human kill his two brothers again, this spider immediately turned around to attack Leinn.

“Clear Sky Style”

Leinn had already raised the sword high in his right hand.

[Moving Cloud!]

And he swung his sword downwards, producing sword energy that split the huge spider in front of him in two, resulting in a huge, and kept moving and cut off the front three legs of the spider that stood five meters behind the split-two spider.

CLACK-Clack...!

Seeing himself alone and wounded, the Giant Tarantula chose to flee back the way he came.

Leinn sheathed back his sword while looking towards the fleeing spider.

“L-leinn! Are you okay?!” aura said in panic.

Aura had already dashed to Leinn's side and checked his state, but Leinn did not respond at all, his eyes seemed to be emitting a cold atmosphere.

Leinn turned to look at the two people who were still hiding behind the tree not far from where he was standing.

“T-thank you for saving us! We will not forget-“

“You...” one short word cut that sentence.

The sound coming out of Leinn sounded extremely cold and contained a dense killing intent, making the person listening to it difficult to breathe.

“Hiii..!” the screams of the two of them simultaneously, took one step back after seeing Leinn who was staring at them sharply.

Seeing their savior suddenly looking at them with that terrifying gaze, they became so frightened that they could not make a normal sound.

“Explain your situation.. And when you say one lie.” every word that comes out feels like a knife blade that is stuck on the neck of the two young men in front of it.

Leinn drew out his sword, shocking Aura and the two young men.

A purple mist could be seen revolving around those sword eyes, turning this entire sword into a purple color.

Aura was very surprised to see Leinn's state, so cold and sharp. It was in stark contrast to Leinn whom he had seen the night before, who had said all new things to him.

Without him noticing, his right hand had already grabbed and grasped Leinn's left arm.

“Leinn..” Aura only uttered the name of the young man in front of her.

Sensing the touch, Leinn turned his head and found Aura looking at him with a sad face.

That Aura expression managed to make Leinn realize the purple mist that was surrounding the sword eyes in his hand, shocking him.

The color of the Sword in his right hand was changed back to dark blue and he looked calmer, but he still had not sheathed back his sword.

His gaze also still contained great anger.

“Explain your situation, FAST!” leinn snapped at the two young men in front of him.

“Y-yes!” answer them both while standing up straight.

Ever since Leinn stepped his feet in front of that group of spiders, he had already sensed the existence of a large number of Beasts from them coming.

After hearing Aura's explanation of the characteristics of the Giant Tarantula, a bad feeling began to appear and she was aware of the situation that might be going on there.

“J-so when our group m-seeked Beast to m-finish this test, k-we accidentally b-walked into the middle of the s-nest Giant Tarantula and...” says one of them is broken

The longer he heard this explanation, killing intent began to reappear in his eyes.

His estimate of the situation proved to be correct.

Long story short, they were part of a group of four people who entered into the Giant Tarantula's nest by accident and ended up being surrounded.

One of the test supervisors appeared to help them but due to the sheer number of Giant Tarantulas, these supervisors also became overwhelmed fighting while protecting the four of them.

The situation gets worse when two people in their group get bitten and become paralyzed.

Seeing that there was a chance, the two of them ran away leaving the three behind them.

Then the five Giant Tarantulas came out and chased after them, their situation getting worse until Leinn finally stopped the group.

“...” The two of them did not dare to make a sound after telling all that, realizing what they had done.

Seeing Leinn not saying anything after their story was over, Aura turned her head to look at her expression.

He closed his eyes, as if trying to calm himself.

“Go...” a whisper comes out of Leinn's mouth.

“a-what?”

Hearing Leinn speak in a small voice, the two young men grew even more frightened.

“GO!” snapped Leinn hard.

“Hi..!” they were both shocked to the point of falling to the ground.

The two people again stood up with great difficulty and started running towards the direction where this first test started.

They looked even more frightened compared to when they were being chased by the five Giant Tarantulas before.

Leinn sheathed back his sword and opened his eyes, staring at Aura.

“Thank you.. and I need this” Leinn said with a smile, pointing at her left wrist.

Aura realized she was still grasping the hand then released it while jumping back.

Leinn smiled slightly and started to look around him.

“Aura, I need to do something. You find a place to hide here and wait for me. Take it easy, there is no danger within a radius of 300 meters from here” Leinn said quickly.

“T-wait!” Aura was startled after hearing those instructions, finding Leinn in front of him staring towards the injured Giant Tarantula's running.

A large amount of mana started appearing in the air and started moving around the body of the black-haired young man. The mana continued to grow until it finally enveloped Leinn's body and was sucked into it.

Before Aura could say anything, Leinn had already kicked the ground firmly and left a strong wind behind her. He could do nothing as he watched the young man begin to disappear from his sight.

“Eh..”

Realizing she had just been left alone in the middle of the forest, she became speechless.

After a while...

“Hmph!”

Aura started running after Leinn.
