Humanity Return
Ch. 15 – Hostility

Feeling guilty and ashamed that he finished the bag full of dried meat, Aura could not lift her head and only answered Leinn with a small whisper.

“Oh... Take it easy I still have a lot of other backup food” Leinn pulled out some other meat bags from inside her big bag.

Aura could only stand up and return the empty pouch to Leinn. Receiving this, he stuffed it into his big bag along with the other bags of meat.

After a while, Aura realized Leinn had yet to start walking, she was waiting for him.

So he lifted his face and saw Leinn looking back at him.

“A-ayo!” speak Aura strongly.

Aura began to walk in the footsteps the Wolf Beast left behind again, and Leinn followed behind.

After walking for a while, Aura turned her head back and found Leinn just following her without saying anything.

He also noticed Leinn was eating something, but he did not see any flesh bags in either hand.

...

The two of them had walked for quite a long time and the trail they had followed was no longer visible blood.

The natural healing abilities of Rank B Beasts were indeed extraordinary.

Realizing they were getting closer to the Beast, Aura became more and more curious about Leinn's affair with the wolf.

“J-so why are we following in the footsteps of this Wolf Beast?” aura said to Leinn who was walking behind her.

“Hm? He looks quite strong, so I want to try to fight with him” Leinn replied casually.

“So you want to make a Contract with this Wolf Beast?’ Aura turned her head towards Leinn, thinking it was not a bad idea considering the ability he had.

”Contract...? Oh, I didn't know” Leinn looked confused for a moment, then realized what Aura meant.

Hearing that, Aura stopped walking and turned her body to face Leinn.

Leinn also stopped his steps looking at the girl who was staring at him.

“If you don't plan on making a Contract with him, why do you want to fight him?” ask Aura again.

“Because... she looks pretty strong?” leinn replied, once more.

The two of them wore the same expression, not understanding what the words of the person in front of each of them meant.

“Eh?” “Eh?”

Their strange conversation suddenly changed when Leinn turned to look back at him quickly.

The aura instantly realized from Leinn's movements that someone was approaching them from the same direction as where they had come from.

It seemed like this group was also following the trail that the Wolf Beast had left behind.

Aura turned her head towards Leinn and realized the young man was intending to wait for the newcomer here.

A few minutes passed and finally four shadows were seen walking up to them from a distance.

It turned out that one of them was a familiar face to Leinn, and that person also stopped his steps after seeing Leinn just standing while staring at them.

“Huh? Why is a bum like you in this part of the forest so deep?”

Leinn saw four people standing ten meters away from him.

The person who looked like the leader of the group who called out to him was none other than the big man who spoke to him before this test started.

Ignoring the insulting call the big man had spoken, Leinn simply smiled as he waved his hand.

“Oh hi, strange also we meet again in a place like this” he said kindly.

Seeing that reaction, the mocking smile on his face the big man instantly turned into an angry expression.

The three people behind him also stepped forward and stood beside this big man with the same expression.

“L-leinn.” said Aura very nervously after seeing the group in front of her that did not look friendly.

“I'm Brick Brassboulder! And I didn't..“ brag the big man, before he stopped himself after seeing the little girl standing behind the black-haired young man.

This Brick Brassboulder stood over two meters tall, not many youths of his age could reach that height. With her muscular body that seemed obvious due to her tight clothes and brown hair no more than a centimeter, she looked extremely prominent.

His eyes opened wide when he realized the identity of the girl.

“Aura...? Flameheart aura?”

Hearing her name being called she peered over Leinn's back and found the bear-sized man staring at her.

“Y-ya?” answer slowly.

Successfully recognizing Aura's identity, Brick's face showed a shocked expression, then confused.

“What is the Princess of the Flameheart Clan doing with a vagrant man who has no clear origins here?” ask Brick harshly.

“A...” voice cannot come out of the girl's mouth.

Aura could not answer, as she did not have a clear answer to this question.

Leinn looked at the expression of that Aura and went back to face Brick.

“He is with me because we both are a team!” leinn replied with a big smile.

Hearing this answer, a mocking smile reappeared on Brick's face and his finger had already started pointing at Leinn.

“HAHAHAHA... You two? What difference can it make from a Failed Princess and a bum trying to be together..!?” Brick laughed as he blurted out that insulting sentence without the slightest restraint.

Brick's loud laughter and his mocking sentence sounded clear, making Aura lower her head while clasping her dress.

One of the followers next to Brick looked panicked.

“B-boss, d-she is still the only sister of Blaze Flameheart...“ she said nervously.

Hearing that Brick smiled mockingly.

“Then why? You're afraid of the usurper of the chairman's position? He was nothing more than a self-informed child who bullied his own parents-”

“YOU ARE WRONG!” a loud cry interrupted that mocking sentence.

Aura was already standing one step ahead of Leinn, her face was red and her tears had already flowed out soaking her face.

Brick was shocked to hear the sudden scream of the little girl in front of him, and the feeling turned into anger.

“K-KAU-“

“So what do you really want? If there is no other important thing you better just go there” this time the young man behind the girl who interrupted his words.

Leinn's expression showed clearly how bored he was right now, but the tone in his last sentence could be heard clearly and showed that his feelings were not as good as before.

All three of Brick's followers had already withdrawn their weapons and were ready to attack at any time.

But the black-haired young man did not care.

“From yesterday I heard you talking without a clear purpose, what exactly do you want to say?” the sentence came out without containing the slightest emotion in it.

“Looks like you need to feel the pain first before you can realize your position”

Brick removed the copper bracelet in his right hand and drained Mana into it.

Carvings began to appear in the air and form a magic circle around the bracelet, and in just a few seconds the bracelet changed shape into a large black axe.

With a height of two meters and an axe eye as wide as 60 centimeters, it can be seen that the large ax has quite good quality.

“It's too late to ask for forgiveness now’
