Ch. 33 – Big and Small

“So, do you guys have any questions?”

“Um..”

Aura had a few small things she wanted to know but there was one thing that had bothered her ever since she entered this room.

“Cirp”

The bird that perched on a stick behind Professor Isaac's chair.

An owl with light green feathers, was exactly the same as the giant owl he had ridden before. But the size of this owl is no more than 50 centimeters.

He had already woken up from the yelling Aura earlier and was seen tidying up his wing feathers.

“Hm?”

Following Aura's gaze, Isaac found his Owl. He smiled widely and stood up from his chair, walking up to the bird.

“Hehe... Are you curious about my Beast?”

“Y-ya”

The beast leapt into Isaac's arm and spread its wings.

“Try guess”

Aura seemed to think for a moment before looking back at Isaac.

“...Runed Gear?”

Isaac looked surprised for a moment before smiling back. He admired the girl in front of him.

Aura managed to notice the small bracelet on the owl's left claw that wasn't on the giant owl's body before.

“Really! This is one of the most recent inventions, a gift from my acquaintance. This is-“

“’Compress’”

The answer that appeared suddenly came out from the black-haired young man who was staring at the little bird with a flat expression.

Isaac immediately looked at Leinn with an extremely shocked expression.

Aura and Bart realized that Leinn had managed to guess the identity of the new Runed Gear from Isaac's shocked expression.

Leinn turned his attention to the three people and found their shocked faces.

“Hehe”

Satisfied to see that, Leinn simply replied with a wide smile on her face.

Isaac's feelings regained their composure after failing to show off his new Runed Gear. With a single breath, he pulled out two small cubes and placed them on the table.

“Take this, find an empty place and rest. You still need to wait two more days before you can return to the city”

A gust of wind brought the two small cubes to Leinn.

Looking at the two cubes he caught, Leinn looked slightly surprised. He looked at Isaac with a small smile.

“Thank you for this”

“Ya, ya”

Isaac simply replied with a swing of his hand, driving him away.

“Hehe”

Leinn turned around and started walking out, followed by the Gorilla Beast.

Seeing that, Aura immediately lowered her head to Isaac and Bart, then turned around and caught up with Leinn along with Rufus who was walking after her.

Moments after Leinn's group disappeared from the room, Isaac began to lean back in his chair and smiled widely.

“This will be interesting isn't it, Supervisor Bart?”

“Of course, Professor Isaac”

The sun was almost submerged, with the afternoon sky beginning to turn into the night sky.

Some of the lights in the camp had already lit up the surrounding tents, seeing the illumination being reduced rapidly.

Leinn and Aura were seen walking with the two large Beasts regardless of the gazes of the people around them.

“U-uh..”.

Leinn doesn't care.

Finally they came out of the camp and continued walking, finally stopping after reaching a distance of 100 meters from the camp.

It was a little further from the forest than the distance between the camp and the forest.

“Leinn?”

Aura looked a little confused, she already felt that something was strange as they walked out of the camp and continued without any clear purpose.

Leinn replied by pulling out the two cubics he had just obtained from his pants pocket. Mana began to flow into that cubic, making small engravings light up on all four sides.

Leinn then placed the two cubics in his hand on the grass with a distance of 10 meters separating them.

After a few seconds passed, the two cubes began to tremble strongly and give off a bright light. The runes began to spin on the ground and a short while later, two tents stood in place of that small cubic.

Aura finally realized that cubic identity.

“Runed Gear shape Tent?!”

Two five-meter-wide cubic tents stood there.

Aura tried to look inside and found the interior of the tent still empty. The floor of the tent overrides the grass below and feels very soft when stepped on, then cool temperatures can be felt inside the tent and the lights outside it successfully illuminate the surrounding area.

“Wow” Aura started stroking the tent fabric which felt quite strong it with a feeling of awe.

“Take”

A bag of dried meat landed on Aura's hand after she stepped out of the tent.

Leinn held an identical pouch in her hand and had already started chewing her food.

His big bag and two waist bags were out of sight, while his sword was back into a bracelet in his left hand. Even his clothes turned into black short-sleeved shirts.

Aura also put her luggage inside the tent and went to eat with Leinn, a little surprised at the speed of changing into the young man's clothes.

“...Leinn”

“Om nom... nom?”

Leinn turned his gaze back to Aura and saw the girl looking back at him.

He started chewing quickly then swallowed the meat in his mouth, only then did he reply.

“What's up?”

Aura stared at the dried meat in her hand for a while before continuing.

“How do you know the identity of Runed Gear that Professor Isaac has..”.

“Om name nom..”

“Leinn!”

Swallowing once more, he grabbed the two objects lying beside him.

Aura just realized the existence of the two objects and began to research them, two short strands of cloth?

“This, Compress”

Hearing that answer, Aura raised her face and looked at Leinn.

“...what?”

Aura looked back at the two objects, then looked back at Leinn.

“Hah?”

“This is the same kind of Runed Gear that Isaac used for his Contracted Beast, Runed Gear Model Compress”

Leinn threw one of the cloths at Aura. He also placed a bag of meat in his hand and grabbed the brown cloth beside him..

this “Runed Gear is one of the latest inventions of Ironforge four months ago, its main function is to shrink the size of the big Beast”

“...ooooOOOH!”

Aura's eyes started to shine. A bag of dried meat was already lying on the grass, and he just stared at the short, red cloth in his hand with glowing eyes.

Leinn grabbed a piece of dried meat from the pouch beside him and continued his explanation.

“The side effect of the Compress is the reduced physical strength of the Beast using it, but it will not reduce the potential of the Mana Beast using it”

He put the meat in his mouth.

“...so they can still fight with smaller size. That size also makes it easy for them to walk in the middle of the city.”.

Aura instantly realized the potential of Runed Gear ‘Compress’ in her hands.

Leinn got up and started walking to the Gorilla Beast who was sitting daydreaming not far from their tent.

Aura also got up and walked following Leinn.

“Not all creatures can use Compress, Beasts that are too small or humans who wear them will only feel their physique weakened in the absence of a difference in size”

“Oooh..”.

Leinn had the Gorilla Beast come closer and tied the cloth to his wrist.

After he finished he took two steps back and drained the Mana into his left palm.

“Mana Stream. That” Leinn showed her palm that glowed light blue.

“Hoh?”

Leinn pointed to the cloth on the Gorilla Beast's right arm, which after a while followed the instructions.

The gorilla drained the Mana on his left index finger and then touched it to the cloth on his right wrist.

Runes began to flow out of the cloth it spread throughout his body.

A bright light started to shine and startled Aura.

“HOOH..!”

After 20 seconds, the light finally began to dim and the changes that occurred in the Beast's body could be clearly seen.

The Gorilla Beast now had a height of no more than 80 centimeters.
