Ch. 42 – Helpful

“Leinn!”

The silhouetted hand stopped in midair, then at Leinn behind him turned towards the call and found Aura.

He clasped his staff firmly and was seen standing there with a strange expression.

‘Why does he look so... sad?’

Leinn did not understand the reason for Aura's expression and started walking away from the group's leader, who finally escaped from his check and fell unconscious.

His steps stopped in front of Aura who was still staring at him with the same expression.

“Aura..”.

“Stop... it's enough isn't it.?”

He saw Leinn's actions clearly.

After healing Basalt's wounds, he saw Leinn attack the group without holding himself back at all.

His movements were much faster and sharp compared to when he fought against Basalt in the forest before.

The purple mana that Leinn had emitted on the two youths who had run away leaving their group also appeared and was seen increasing his strength by leaps and bounds.

“Stop..”.

But Aura only felt an uneasy feeling when she saw the cold expression on Leinn's face.

Leinn looked at the ten unconscious bodies and sighed, then the purple Mana in his body began to slowly disappear.

Aura also showed a relieved expression after seeing that.

“Leinn-”

Aura felt a look on her. He turned his head and realized the silhouette behind Leinn was still hovering and was seen looking at him.

The silhouette floated to Leinn's side and followed him as he walked to Aura's front.

The silhouette of his long hair floated in the air, unaffected by gravity.

‘Women?’

Before he could see it more clearly, the silhouette was visibly aware of Aura's gaze and instantly turned into purple mist then returned to Leinn's body.

“What's up?” leinn asked with who was aware of Aura's shocked expression.

“No..”

Aura could not find the silhouette anymore and shook her head, thinking she was wrong to see it. He turned his head towards the ten unconscious people and showed a worried expression.

Aura tried to walk towards the group, but was stopped by Leinn's left hand which blocked his path.

A cold look could be seen in his eyes.

“Aura”

And Aura understood the meaning of Leinn's gaze.

They had almost killed Clear and had injured Basalt, this was in contrast to the previous fight with the ferocious beasts following their instincts, or the Bartolomeo group fighting fairly.

But Aura still shook her head at Leinn.

Leinn saw it staring at the girl in front of him for a while, then lowered her hand back and let Aura who had already started chanting her short magic.

[Box]

A white fireball appeared at the end of his wand, which Leinn realized only had half the size of the fireball he had seen the night before.

Aura swung her staff and the fireball floated into a pile of five unconscious bodies nearby.

Bwoosh

The fire started and went out within a few seconds.

Aura had realized the condition of the five people who received Leinn's first attack was quite critical, so she couldn't just let them die.

The small fireballs that were split for the five of them were only enough to stabilize their condition for a while, not healing the entire damage they received.

Leinn just looked towards the camp without saying anything, his gaze looking very calm.

He turned to Basalt who was looking at him anxiously and pointed at the ten bodies and pointed towards the camp.

“Hoh...? Hoh!”

Basalt seemed to think for a moment and realized Leinn's intentions. He began to gather the ten men and shouldered them with his two big arms and began to walk to the camp.

Aura saw the gorilla walking away and Leinn who entered her tent without saying anything to her.

“...”

Aura looked at the grass she was on and began to feel regret, she healed the wounds of the group of people who had intended to kill Clear and had already injured Basalt.

Is what he did the right thing?

“Leinn..”.

The small voice that came out of his mouth did not get any answer, only the night wind and the sound from the campground not far from him could be heard.

...

“...”

Aura stood in front of Leinn's tent which had not opened since the night before. The sun had risen for quite a while and the Aura who could not sleep that night did not see any movement from the tent in front of him.

Basalt was seen doing push-ups not far from there, with Clear just widening beside him while watching the gorilla train.

Rufus lay down and only showed his head from inside the Aura tent.

“Leinn..”.

Negative feelings began to appear again and she began to clasp hard on her dress. He stood there for a moment without saying anything until he heard something.

“...z..”

“..Zz...”

Aura started to approach the tent and without him noticing, he had already stretched his head inside the tent.

In front of him was Leinn who was lying with his eyes closed, motionless. A small voice could be heard from him.

“Zzz...”.

‘Dia... sleep?’

Aura felt confused for a while and she suddenly realized something, that Leinn was still an ordinary human who needed to sleep.

He began to approach the young man then sat down beside him and looked at his sleeping face.

Leinn seemed to be sleeping very peacefully.

“...”

As soon as she noticed it, Aura had already used her finger to touch her sleeping face. More precisely he poked Leinn's cheek with his index finger.

Seeing the lack of reaction, he started to do it repeatedly.

“Hehe..”.

Finding this thing quite amusing, Aura continued to do it again. The pause between the stabs got shorter and after a while he stopped.

After staring at the sleeping face in front of him for a while longer, Aura suddenly realized something...

Leinn's sleeping breath had changed.

“...Leinn... have you woken up..?” whispered Aura very slowly.

The one who answered the question was eyes that instantly opened and looked at him.

Aura was so shocked that the sound of her screams could not come out.

Leinn just stared at the girl in front of him for a moment without saying anything.

“Yo”

“...!”

The aura still could not make any sound, until Leinn got up and walked out of the tent.

Realizing that, Aura immediately turned around and caught up with him coming out of the tent as well. In front of him was Leinn who was stretching.

Aura began to walk up to him and with difficulty, tried to convey the thing she had been worried about since the night before.

“What-“

“You've eaten?”

Leinn turned around and looked into Aura's eyes, the smile on her face looking very gentle.

Aura saw that and realized Leinn's intent, after a while she just shook her head.

“Good..”.

Leinn grabbed into his pocket and pulled out a fully-filled transparent glass box.

He opened the small lid of the box and took out two small white pills and closed them back, then passed the glass box over to Aura.

“Hap!” said Aura while raising her hand.

Aura managed to catch it with her right hand and smiled, feeling pleased after successfully obtaining the item without panicking.

He then looked at the glass box in his hand, then at Leinn who had just finished swallowing the two white pills in his hand.

Aura realized the identity of the thing in her hand and was a little surprised.

“Pil meal?”

There were at least 100 pills inside that glass box, and each of these food pills could eliminate hunger like it was done with one regular meal.

The price of one food pill alone was already very high because of the ease of carrying it in carrying out missions far from the city or village, then a full glass box in his hand was impossible to be cheap.

The strange feeling of seeing the young man in front of him could still make him surprised after repeatedly surprising him for three days they knew each other.

Leinn who saw that gaze misjudged his thoughts.

“I don't like the taste, dried meat tastier”

Aura took out 3 pills from inside that glass, 1 for her and 2 for Rufus. He then intended to return the glass box but Leinn had already walked towards the camp.

Aura did not give up and started running after him.

“This! Take back!” said Aura who ran with all her might while holding out the glass box in her right hand.

Leinn pulled out two identical glass boxes from the same pocket and displayed them on Aura.

After Aura was surprised to see him, Leinn returned the two glass boxes into her pocket.

With a smile on his face, Leinn looked at Aura.

“Gift. Thank you for overnight”

His footsteps were stopped by it, while Leinn continued walking towards the campground.

His guilt was greatly reduced replaced by another strange feeling, although still not understanding what he had just felt, Aura began to catch up with Leinn.

“Leinn!”

Leinn turned to her side and saw Aura who called out to her.

“How about your bag...?”
