Humanity Return
Ch. 106 – Night and Morning

The night ended without anything interesting happening.

Aura becomes aware that Leinn will be spending the next morning on the training field with Roland, while she and Adeline have promised to attend Magic Class at the same time.

Aura was planning to visit Adeline before returning to her room to rest, but Leinn stopped her.

“She'll be happier if you don't visit her this time”

Leinn left the sentence with his smile and disappeared in the hallway towards his own room.

Aura thought for a moment and then finally chose to go straight back to her room, realizing Leinn knew something she did not know.

“Oh, Rufus”

The first one he saw when he opened the door was his Contracted Beast, Rufus who was lying on the floor while closing his eyes.

Rufus opened his eyes for a moment to look at Aura who was closing the door of his room before closing her eyes again, this time completely to sleep.

“Haha..”.

After doing a few things and changing her clothes, Aura finally lay down under her blanket and closed her eyes.

Having a few moments of calm before getting to sleep, Aura involuntarily began to think about what Leinn's last words meant.

Logic chains began to form on his half-asleep head.

If Aura were to visit Adeline now, she wouldn't be happy.

Adeline wouldn't be happy if Aura visited her, meaning something would be disrupted if anyone came to her.

Means Adeline is doing something that can only be done if Aura isn't there.

And the last time Aura was in that room was Adeline who was covering her head with a blanket on her bed.

The only thing that changes with the time Aura leaves Adeline's room is-

“-Ah”

...

A slash! A slash! Slash...!”

The sound of the air being cut off could be clearly heard, which was produced by the continuous swing of the sword of the black-haired youth who was in the middle of the open training field, which was like not realizing the dozens of pairs of eyes that were watching him practicing.

Morning sunlight can be seen bouncing on his skin that has been soaked by his own sweat, the result of his training since a few hours ago without stopping.

His black jersey also became wet and stuck to his skin, showing his previously barely visible body muscles due to his clothes.

Slashh...! Slashwas...

He suddenly stopped his sword swing and looked in one direction, shocking all of his spectators. They immediately grabbed the nearest training tool and pretended to concentrate in their own practice.

“Finally you came too, what's-hm?”

And it turned out that the young man was looking towards a blond young man who was walking towards him.

The black-haired young man, Leinn suddenly stopped talking and raised one eyebrow, instantly realizing something.

“You... not sleeping?”

The blond-haired youth, Roland finally got to the front of him and looked a little surprised after hearing that. He did not expect the young man before him to be able to realize that so easily.

Leinn himself could only realize it was not due to fatigue or dark bags, considering Roland and himself had a body that had been trained to be able to move without sleep for several days.

He realized it was because... The feeling he was seeing.

“Huh..”.

After staring at Roland for a while, Leinn seemed to lose interest and again swung the wooden sword in his hand.

Roland only looked at the young man before him for a moment before picking up a single wooden sword that was bigger than Leinn's and starting to swing it beside him.

Slashh...! Slashh...! Slashh...!

Now in the middle of the field were two young men wearing black and white shirts who were swinging wooden swords in a fixed style, who were, like following a rhythm that cannot be heard by everyone else around them.

All the spectators there saw the very simple exercise again, but they were stunned.

A slash! A slash! A slash!

And they could see the gap between each slash was starting to shorten even more...

“Huh..?”

Some of the people there were also aware of the strange thing about the two young men.

They had already seen Leinn train for several hours and his swinging speed was always constant from start to finish, unlike now.

Looks like they're both...

“Haha...!”

“...haha!”

Two short laughs came out from the mouths of the two young men who were already smiling little, then both of their hands turned blurry and caused a strong wind that swept across the entire training field.

Slaaash...!

The sound from the swing of the sword became one long sound without stopping and the resulting wind made the audience around them difficult to open their eyes.

“”Hahaha..!””

...

The sun was already moving higher and higher, shining on the two young men lying in the middle of the training field with two wooden sword handles beside them.

Now the two of them stayed on the training ground, after the wind produced their swords had driven all the previous spectators from there.

Finally they had only stopped doing that after the wooden sword in their hands had finally been unable to withstand the force of their swing and broke simultaneously.

“Hah..”.

“...”

The two of them were lying there in sweat that had soaked their entire bodies, unable to move at all.

They should have been able to increase the speed of their stamina return with the help of Mana, but the current state of their bodies did not allow that.

So they could only replenish their energy naturally.

“Hah... this is really stupid”

“...ya”

Leinn chuckled when she realized what they had just done, something they used to do while still training together.

Roland also smiled when he heard that and started to remember the same thing, while they would compete until they ran out of steam like this.

The other end was Hinata who saw their competition and chose to come along as well, ending with the two of them being unable to move until the next day.

“...huh”

“...yup”

Finally having the time to think after their immovable bodies, the two young men immediately recalled the girl's face.

Girls who are now much stronger than they were three years ago, to a level that exceeds their expectations.

Actually they already had some plans when they met him again, but it all flew out of the window just like that when they saw his smile in the hall that day.

They instantly realized they were not the girl's opponent, and this was not due to their current state of body.

That enlightenment made them feel a complex feeling.

“Welp, we just need to be stronger right?”

“Ya”

Leinn said that while raising his right hand that had energy again, although it was still shaking quite strongly. Roland did the same thing and at the same time, they clasped the hand together, like trying to catch something that was out of their reach.

“Oh!”

Leinn lowered his hand and moved his head in one direction, finding the two girls who were walking towards them while carrying some sheets of paper in their hands.
