Humanity Return
Ch. 55 – Thunder in Daylight Bolong

“Hoamz..”

A fierce battle was being shown by the couples who were above the four stone arenas. Weapons met weapons, Beasts against Beasts, the extremely hot scene between humans and their Contracted Beasts who fought with all their might.

The spectators who saw that could feel themselves becoming excited, affected by the fighting spirit of all the new disciples.

But there was one person who did not feel the same way while there.

“Hoaaamz..”

The young man yawned for the umpteenth time while leaning on his seat, he was none other than Leinn who was seen trying to resist his drowsiness.

After his first fight was over and he got off the arena, it had already nearly two hours passed.

He is seen sitting on a long chair with Clear beside him, alone.

“Hah..”.

A strange sight when he saw 20 more people standing and leaving when he saw him walking closer to the long chair.

After that incident, Leinn just sat down and saw fighter after fighter up and down every five minutes in the four arenas.

“Zzz..”

He was already aware of the difference in strength between his group and Roland's group.

Most of the group of 40 people who met the group of 100 people ended up losing. The newly built compactness for a few days was not enough to defeat those who had possessed Contracted Beasts for much longer.

“Zzz-“

“Hah!”

Booms

There are exceptions, of course.

Leinn opened his eyes once more and saw the big man who was in one of the arenas in front of him, a familiar face.

Brick who had swung his axe and managed to hit his opponent's Beast, made his opponent admit defeat when he saw his Beast was seriously injured and gave victory to Brick.

“Hm..”

He jumped down and turned his head towards her, then their gaze met for a moment until when Brick turned his attention elsewhere.

Leinn returned his attention and recalled some familiar faces, who had been fighting for those two hours.

The three followers of Brick also showed unusual appearances as well, and managed to win their fight without the help of their Contracted Beasts.

Leinn placed her hand on Clear beside her.

“Reply wake up..”.

He also recalled the group that was trapped in the Giant Tarantula's nest earlier it was fighting.

They all met opponents from a group of 100 people and ended in defeat, but their opponents needed to render them unconscious after seeing them not give up until the end.

Four interesting fights.

After that there was no more interesting fight and he grew tired of waiting, coupled with the bright and cloudless afternoon it did not help him to hold back consciousness

Crackle- Boom...!

The sound of thunder followed by a large explosion could be heard, coming from outside the stadium.

Everyone there felt a loud tremor from their seats and became extremely shocked.

They were pretty sure the explosion came from within this academy.

Amidst the panicked crowd, Leinn was seen looking up at the sky to confirm the clear weather.

He recognized that voice.

“Hahahaha!”

Some people immediately turned their heads towards the young man who suddenly laughed in confusion.

Some teachers were also seen looking for information about the situation.

Seeing that the emergency alarm did not turn on, there should be no extraterrestrials forcing their way into the academy.

Leinn seemed to lose his sleep and just sat there with a smile on his face.

...

Eight people stood in pairs above the four arenas, with different types of Contracted Beasts beside them. The tense atmosphere can be felt from all of them, as well as the strange atmosphere.

The six of them did not even pay attention to their opponents, but simply turned their heads and looked towards the one arena beside them, precisely to a young man.

“Four second wave first fight will start in a few moments, all fighters prepare yourselves”

The young man's opponent looked almost crying.

He had not expected to come face to face with the monster in front of him this early.

The expression opposite to him could be seen from one of the few people who were in the waiting seats outside the arena, the three others who won four fights at the start of the tournament were like Leinn.

The one who was supposed to be Leinn's opponent in that fight if the battle sequence wasn't randomized once more.

“Breet..”.

When the last pair of the first wave finishes their fight, the fighter sequence is instantly scrambled, resulting in a different pair and not letting them prepare themselves.

And coincidentally, the black-haired young man was inside those first four fights of the second wave.

And coincidentally again it turned out that the young man was in front of him, and he could only grip his weapon firmly and prepare himself.

“Start!”

Everyone there began to sit at the end of their seats and not taking their eyes off that one arena, the other six fighters were seen reaching an agreement and also watching the arena.

“A-ampun..”.

Leinn narrowed his eyes looking at the young man in front of him and pulled the cloth on his shoulders, tightening the Clear that was bound on his back.

The young man began to slowly step forward with the sword in his hand that looked slightly shorter than an ordinary sword.

“B-let me give you the first attack!”

The audience at the stadium showed a strange expression looking at his efforts, then became even stranger when his opponent nodded his head.

“Okay, go ahead”

“B-well”

Leinn had already nearly entered into the range of his opponent's attack, but still looked relaxed.

He only stood with his right hand still on his waist, not intending to pull the sword in his left hand.

The young man finally stopped two meters in front of him.

“A-I'm coming!”

The young man kicked the stone floor firmly and swung the short sword in his left hand.

Leinn welcomed that by extending his right hand behind him.

Clang

His short sword stopped a few centimeters from the black-haired young man's face, like it was crashing into an invisible wall.

The attention of the surrounding audience was divided from the sword that failed to reach its target and the creature that was trapped in the grasp of the black-haired youth.

“Psssht...!”

“Haha, excited once”
