Humanity Return
Ch. 83 – Their Past Both

Aura nodded her head at Adeline's question.

Yes, Leinn's explanation to Tenma that should have been dispelled by Silence Dome had managed to achieve it.

The reason for that was that transparent lump on his lap that suddenly started to emit the voice of the young man, channeling it from his body that was on top of his big bag.

Adeline was apparently unaffected by the story, as she could not understand her point. He only finds out that something happened to him in the past, making him who he is now.

The flat expression of Roland beside her became even more... flat? He did not show any reaction after hearing that, like this was not the first time he had heard of it.

The most affected among them was Aura who stopped talking altogether afterwards, deep in thought. He could not be sure if he recognized Leinn more or even more after hearing that.

Realizing she could not get any answers by thinking to herself, Aura set her sights on the girl beside her.

“Adeline, do you recognize Leinn?”

“Huh? A-ah, Leinn yes..”

Adeline looked quite disturbed by Aura's question, it was evident from her body expression that instantly changed drastically.

He began to avoid eye contact and even began to try to move on.

“A-ah! Have you tried the Ice River Water? I brought some..”

“...”

Seeing the girl in front of him not budging, Adeline put the cold water bottle in her hand back into her pocket and started talking without facing her.

“Yes, I recognize the young man”

Aura could only see half of the girl's face but was quite exhausted that Adeline was not too happy to answer her question. He began to feel unsure and intended to stop her, but his desire for answers did not let him.

Adeline then looked at the girl beside her with a stern look.

“But I never met him”

“...Huh?”

Of course Aura showed a confused expression and Adeline could understand the origin of that feeling. He signaled for Aura to keep listening to the whole story.

“This happened some time after the incident that made Roland famous throughout the continent.”.

Aura looked at the face of the girl who started to blush and realized the incident she meant, the reason for Roland's fame.

“The two of us were sitting together and I couldn't help my curiosity, so I asked her what happened to her over the years we didn't meet.”.

Aura listened to that seriously while nodding her head and Adeline told that with a bit of excitement.

“He began to tell what he was doing after he returned to his clan, what he went through to be recognized by all the members of the clan and its chairman. Then the training he went through on the mountain that could only be entered by the next clan head candidate, then..”.

Adeline was seen lowering her head and starting to frown, she also started swinging her right hand and both legs.

“She began to tell of her experiences after she escaped from her clan six years ago, how she finally managed to get the strength that her family recognized.”.

“...escape? Meeting?”

“Yes! How he was saved when lost without direction and their encounter with. black-haired boy”.

Aura had guessed a little that Leinn and Roland knew each other, but she did not expect them to have a past to that extent.

He saw that Adeline's right hand had been clasped tightly and both eyebrows were furrowed until they almost met.

Adeline turned her head and saw Aura showing a worried face.

Seeing that, Adeline relaxed her right hand and let out a long sigh.

“Haaah. I never saw him smile at anyone else when he was with me, and everyone around him never saw him smile either. It makes me feel a little... special?”

Adeline tried to cover her extremely red face with her little hands without success.

Some time passed and he finally managed to calm himself down, although his face was still slightly red.

“...until the moment he told me about it. You wouldn't believe how devastated I was when Roland saw her smile as he told her about what he was doing with the black-haired boy. He looked so serious when telling stories that I almost thought he had forgotten my whereabouts, if it wasn't for his hand grasping my hand back then.”.

Adeline's voice almost turned into a whisper at the end of her sentence, barely audible. Her face was reddened when she recalled her experience.

Aura was seen showing a serious expression that was like not hearing her last sentence, although her red face could not hide her feelings.

He was embarrassed to see the girl in front of him who kept tucking in the evidence of their relationship.

“E-ehem! So I didn't like the boy because I felt defeated by him and I managed to relate his identity to Leinn from his traits and the abilities he showed. Roland's laughter yesterday was actually the biggest proof”

“...”

“But I still don't know how he can recognize me..”.

Six years ago, Roland met Leinn for the first time. Based on the previous information, they should also be taught by the same person.

But it seemed that Roland met her after something had already happened to Leinn.

“I also have not finished preparing myself to meet the monster girl...how is this!”.

Adeline twirled her hair in annoyance and looked very disturbed.

The aura beside him was still compiling the information he got and was not making up

“Girl monster...?”

Aura turned to her side and looked at Adeline.

“What do you mean?”

“Hm? Leinn hasn't told you about the creature-“

WHOAAH!

Cheers the audience around them cut out Adeline's sentence.

The two of them started to look around them in search of excuses that made the audience cheer that strongly and of course...

Two young men had just emerged from two gates on two different sides of the stadium simultaneously.
