Lover Forced The Ruler

Lover Forced The Ruler
Chapter 9. The conspiracy in Glassville

Small town Glassville

Annie woke up bad luck today. He throws his blanket to look at the wall clock that points at eight. Last night he came home late because he was curious about his card game that never won. Her friends who might have agreed to finish her off in the game were getting ready to go home when Annie urged for one more session. The defeat came back. Annie's mad. And rampaging.

He was drunk anyway.

After making trouble at Dwayne's place, he staggered back to his home half an hour away. Bert's only son is out of nowhere. The boy didn't pick up the phone call. Though Annie already missed her warm room, but Bert this time forgot to pick her up.

Annie hurriedly knocked on Bert's bedroom door.

“Bert, are you awake?”

There is no lawfulness.

The door to his room was unlocked. Annie pushed and found her son still lazily wrapped in his bed. Room's messy. He's clucking pissed.

“Bert, wake. We're misfortune. Customers will not want to wait for a seller who still snores at his house!”

Annie shook her son's body. But the twenty-six-year-old was still asleep like a dead man.

Upset, Annie pulled the thick blanket away with all her might. The blanket, apparently wrapped around Bert's entire body, slipped off and brought Bert to the floor. The sound of falling and the groans of Bert's pain coincided with the pounding on the front door.

“Mrs Annie!” A voice called out loudly.

Dug - Dug - Dug

The door was knocked again. Firmer.

Annie suddenly turned pale. His face that was beginning to be decorated with wrinkles was getting older.

Bert who had woken up and was about to continue his sleep also looked nervous.

“Mr Aaron...” Annie's heart is pounding. He looks scared.

“Company mom out!” Annie pulled Bert's hand out of the room towards the living room. He gripped firmly so that the lazy child did not run away leaving him.

After all, they were only two. Bert's father died ten years ago. And ever since Lisle, her ungrateful niece left, she was overwhelmed taking care of the store. Bert is unreliable. He only knows asking for money and going out for fun. Even when Annie was cornered by the mounting debt problem, this child blamed her instead. Now when Aaron comes charging a payment due, at least Bert accompanies his mother to deal with it.

The little money that remains has vanished at the gambling table last night. Though Annie really hoped to win and pay off at least a little of the debt.

Brak!

Aaron kicked the table in annoyance.

“No money and the guarantee girl ran away?!” Aaron spoke slowly but with anger. His teeth were grinding withholding emotions.

Annie and her son just sat in a giggle of fear.

All the residents of the southern part of Glassville know Aaron and his ruthless right-hand man Bay. They are never friendly when it comes to unpaid debts. In addition to owning a coffee plantation and several hunting equipment businesses, Aaron also often offers financial assistance with guarantees. Of course the flowers are very high. With so many guarantees that move into his hands if the debts are not also paid.

“Then what are you going to pay those debts with?!” Aaron stared intently at the child in front of him.

“I will be working on it in the near future, Sir. Might.... Maybe I can sell this house...”.

Suddenly the short fat man laughed. His voice was blaring and sounded ugly.

Bert clutched in his chair. He knew Aaron had a beautiful daughter, but he doubted it was really the flesh and blood of this man. Aaron's wife is beautiful, but will be able to defeat this man's rottenness in terms of offspring.

“How can you ensure this house can sell quickly? If it is sold, the price will not be enough so only half.”

Annie fell silent. He no longer knew what kind of offer to make. If he also sells his shop that is not how much it is, not necessarily all of his debt can be repaid. Aaron used to be willing to lend on the bail of Lisle, his beautiful niece. If the loan cannot be paid within the agreed time, Lisle will be handed over to Aaron to become his mistress.

“Look, I'll order my men to find your nephew. In the meantime you can start emptying this house. I'll take it as collateral while the girl hasn't been found.”

Aaron got up from his seat. While adding, “Just make sure that you accidentally hid it from me.”

“No, Sir. Where we dare to hide the girl. Maybe he already knew about the guarantee so blur suddenly.” Annie tried to explain. It occurred to him what about them if this house should be confiscated. Where will they live?

Remembering the woman, a month ago she found Lisle nowhere when she came home from Dwayne's cafe. Although somewhat suspicious because Lisle almost never went far, he did not think that the girl was reckless to leave the house. Tomorrow he who often woke up late still thought Lisle had gone to the store early in the morning.  But after slowly finishing her morning meal, she knew that she had already lost the girl.

“A friend of his said that someone saw him in Black Mountain, Mr.” Annie hopes the information can debunk Aaron's prejudice on her.

Bella, Lisle's college friend who Annie asked about her niece's whereabouts, told her. It was not in vain that he drove around from house to house looking for information.

The half-aged man stopped his steps, who was about to move to the door. He turned to Annie. Seemed interested.

“You sure?” tanyakanya.

“I will make sure of it again. Once I get the information, I will tell Mr.” Annie felt like she had the wind. He had to give the impression of taking sides with Aaron.

Aaron seemed to think for a moment. He nodded in agreement.

“Good. Call me as soon as possible. Ah, naw. I don't like to wait long. I have to get it tonight. So tomorrow morning my people can already go to Black Mountain.”

After saying that Aaron soon passed accompanied by Bay who did not say a word since his arrival to the house.

Annie was about to say that the time given was too narrow. That if it took longer, he could gather more information. But he soon harbors that desire once he finds Bay's terrifying sharp glances. Unknowingly gripped Bert's arm from earlier just listening to their conversation.

The woman shuddered. Last year the area was shocked by the death of a married couple who died by hanging themselves. But there are rumors that their deaths are not what they seem. Some see a person as Bay leaving the house shortly before they are found. A police investigation later produced nothing. The case was closed after it was confirmed that it was a suicide-induced death.

“You heard. You better get ready. We'll probably be driving around all day.” Annie let go of her son's arm and got up leaving.
