Lover Forced The Ruler

Lover Forced The Ruler
Chapter 29. A Taboo Hope

Ralph's smile was perfect. Lisle hadn't seen that smile in a long time. He used to admire her to the point of being carried away into a dream. Today that smile is still flawless. It's just that Lisle no longer dreamed of it.

“Can I sit?” ralph asked politely as the two girls looked still in a daze upon seeing him.

Celine never spoke to Ralph. They were in the same semester. Maybe because Celine is too busy with her work after college, so never waste her time just relaxing on campus. Once there was a little leisure time between college hours, he would use it to study. Celine rarely paid attention to her surroundings. He knew about Ralph who was so adored by the girls. That'sallthatis. The rest of him knew nothing and did not want to think about it.

Now this man came up to them and spoke to Lisle as if the two were very familiar with each other. Since when did the shy Lisle become friends with Ralph? This girl never told me. For a moment Celine felt a little upset. He plans to interrogate his best friend later.

To Lisle himself, this man's name the last two weeks had been like sinking. He was a little surprised to be not as happy as he used to be when he saw her again. And Ralph's Initiative coming to them in public like this surprised him. Didn't Ralph look indifferent every time he met her?

“”Eh Celine who answered. He glanced at Lisle who was still silent.

Ralph sat on a different side of the table. “I think I saw the wrong person. It turns out you were right. Where have you been all this time? You skipped college, huh?” He stared hard at Lisle.

Celine is astonished by Ralph's concern for his best friend. He looked back at Lisle questioningly. What's going on between you and this guy?

“I went to visit my ailing aunt..” Lisle looked back at Celine. His eyes were like saying, I don't know him very well. He's a nobody.

“Hm, I deserve to never see you in the library. Usually every day you stop by there.” Ralph spoke without noticing the astonished gazes of the two girls.

Everyday? Ralph sees me in the library every day? I didn't even know this man had been to the library, Lisle's inner confusion.

Lisle again found the view accusing Celine. You never told me you were close to this prince!

Ralph was staring at Lisle. He only realized the loss when he never saw this girl again anywhere on campus. Some times their accidental encounters are so ordinary. But somehow the memory of togetherness that moment can not be lost.

Unfortunately, he had not had a chance to get close to Lisle. The girl named Shopia just kept on following him wherever he went. Ralph does not want one day their closeness to make Shopia hurt Lisle, so he is looking for a way to escape from the jealous girl.

“Ehem Lisle cleared her throat trying to attract the attention of Ralph who seemed to be drowning in daydreaming. “You're looking for me, is there something that...” .... would you like to talk about? Lisle wanted to ask like that. But as close as they were to anything that needed to be seriously discussed, to the point that the man looked for her every day as long as she was gone.

“What do I mean?” Lisle's throat was suddenly dry. She was ashamed to have expected more at once to be sad because in fact she should no longer wish that way, hoping that Ralph would really care for her one day. That hope now had become a taboo to Lisle.

“There's something I want to talk to you about.” Ralph didn't know what else to say. Shopia was still hard to avoid, but she couldn't help but look at this girl for a day. Maybe if they were really dating, Shopia would give up.

Celine stopped her movement drinking the juice. He realized there was something. Lisle looked at Ralph but then looked down at his coffee cup.

“I think I should find Eleanor. Last night he borrowed my notes and hasn't been returned. You guys talk first.” Celine suddenly interjected. He grabbed the bag and got up from his seat. But before moving on he said to Lisle. “Wait for me to come home later. There's still a lot you haven't told me.”

“Celine...” Lisle was about to prevent Celine from leaving but saw the girl blink one eye as a sign that she understood something.

Lisle furrowed her brows. Celine's departure makes her feel awkward with Ralph. Eleanor's? Who'sis that? I never heard that name! Lisle grumbled in her heart.

“Do you have time tonight?” ralph asked not to comment on Celine's departure. “I'd like to take you out to dinner so much as I can talk about.”

Lisle closed her eyes. It's too sudden. Ralph take her to dinner? Even though it was just an ordinary dinner, Lisle still could not believe it.

“I can't.” Lisle remembered Shopia. The girl would have gone berserk if she knew Ralph was taking her to dinner. But it wasn't really what made him unable to fulfill Ralph's invitation. Mr. Kent would definitely disagree if he had dinner with a boyfriend. “I...my girlfriend will definitely get angry...”.

“Pacar? Do you have a boyfriend? Wh who? I've never seen you with any man.” Ralph's question came in a row. The man looked very surprised by Lisle's statement. His pupils narrowed and his eyebrows looked almost linked.

“He's not the guy here. You may never see it.” Lisle's voice sounded doubtful. I don't know how Mr. Kent's reaction was to hear his confession.

He avoided looking at Ralph. Actually he knew exactly what kind of relationship he had with Mr. Kent, a relationship that was embarrassing to uncover. But the relationship still demands a loyalty.

“Lisle, don't try to lie to me.” Ralph spoke in a low voice but made Lisle tremble slightly.

“I'm not lying...” Lisle rushed over. Most of them are lies. Mr. Kent is not his girlfriend. But the charming guy getting angry is the truth. The girl complained to herself, lately she has become good at lying.

“But what if we can't have dinner? You can say now.” Lisle suddenly remembered that dinner and talk were two things that need not be connected.

Ralph looked upset. He was not interested in continuing the conversation. Something is not right with this girl. Although it was rare to meet in person but Ralph always made sure to be able to watch this girl from afar. Lisle seemed awkward interacting with the opposite sex. He was almost always alone. Only Celine was with him often. Ralph never even saw a man come to take him or pick him up for college.

Has Lisle lied to avoid it? Butwhy?

“Trust next time only.” Ralph got up from his seat with a new thought. I have to investigate!
