Chapters 30. Second Young Master
Aland Caldwel watched his younger brother Ralph Caldwel speak on his cell phone seriously. The young man spoke while pacing back and forth in Aland's study restlessly. Sometimes he clenched his free hand and his expression looked grim. It was not usual for his quiet sister to be this chaotic.
Ralph went home to the family home this afternoon without prior notice. Suddenly he had already knocked on Aland's study door and entered with an unpleasant face. He said he was investigating someone.
Aland didn't think that the person under investigation was a girl. Since when does Ralph need to serepot it? Mr. .second young Caldwel is not so bad as to have to chase a girl. Aland even heard that his brother was adored by almost all the girls at Diamond Ritz university. Unfortunately Ralph did not seem interested in any of the girls. Aland is looking forward to the girl who will be Ralph's girlfriend later.
“She's just a plain girl. I don't understand how he got involved with that horrible person.” Ralph muttered weakly as he threw himself on the sofa. He threw his phone on the marble table, causing a breaking sound.
Aland couldn't stand the curiosity.
“Who is the girl you mean? A friend?” Aland straightened his back to the back of the work chair. He had not left there, but he had stopped doing his job.
A waiter came in and brought them a drink, put it on the table without making a sound and left.
“Girls I like. He's only been in college for a month and hasn't been in for more than a week but is already involved with Mr. Kent.” Ralph nodded his head which felt pulsating. “My man found evidence of their relationship within a week. There are some photos of their togetherness..” Ralph explained. His eyes stared blankly at the cup of coffee served in front of him.
“Do not disturb that person. Enough to get here you investigate. He'll know if someone follows him.” Aland felt compelled to warn his sister even though they both knew that the person in question was indeed dangerous.
“I know. I also didn't think that it was Lisle who looked innocent until she had a relationship with that person. How can?” Ralph looked confused.
“Maybe he's not as innocent as you think.” Aland tried to give his brother a new look.
“No. He is as he seems. It's just that there's something hidden that makes him look sad yesterday.” Ralph was not affected by Aland's words. He could see the sadness that flashed across that little face yesterday. Lisle also seemed to hesitate when mentioning about ‘pacar’ to him. Who would dare to acknowledge Mr. Kent as a girlfriend? The girls that were with him were just a toy that brought about a fleeting pleasure.
“I have to investigate until it is finished,” continued Ralph full of determination.
“Ralph, I warn you once again, stop! You don't know what Mr. Kent might do if he feels disturbed. One more thing, you better forget that girl. Mr. Kent does have a great attraction for girls especially for girls that innocent. It's not that hard for Mr. Kent to get it.” Aland is worried. If something bad happens to his sister, the Caldwel family will be dragged.
“I can't let it. I've been thinking about that girl for a long time. It's just that there are things that make me delay to approach him. I'll call Ray. He can definitely do this job cleanly.” Ralph looks stubborn. Ray is a former spy turned private detective. He thinks Ray can definitely clear up this matter without leaving a trace.
Aland clucked in annoyance. Ralph for some sentimental reason became stubborn and forgot the fact that Mr. Kent was not an easily annoyed man. Ralph's actions not only harmed himself but could also drag Caldwin's family into deep trouble.
“Mr Kent will not let anyone who tries to touch his woman. Why not wait until he gets bored? I heard no girl lasted more than a week with him.” Aland tries to block Aland's reckless actions. What a good thing he thinks is a girl someone else has touched. The girl was no longer as innocent as Ralph had expected.
Ralph's Rae looked dark with anger. Imagining Lisle with someone like Mr. Kent is like seeing a rabbit in the dragon's clutches. What Aland said was true, no girl will be by Mr. Kent's side for more than a week.
“Aland, it's been over a week. The girl now even lives in the Palm Garden. Everyone also knew it was a sacred place for Mr. Kent. I think, that guy doesn't mean to let go of the girl anytime soon.” Ralph looked hopeless for a moment.
Aland looked slightly furrowed his brows. He also knew that not just anyone was allowed to enter the Palm Garden. If it was true that the girl had not only entered Mr. Kent's residence but also lived there, she felt that the girl must have been very special. “You sure?”
“I followed him today to Palm Garden,” Ralph said.
“You're crazy!” Aland scolded her for not thinking that her sister could go that far, following the lady of lord Kent to her nest. Suddenly he was afraid to think about it.
“Do not worry. I'm not that stupid. I mean I just followed him until the turn of the road leading to Palm Garden.” Ralph understood his brother's concerns. He's also not so stupid as to drive right behind the luxury car that took Lisle through a special road to the only place called Palm Garden. There's a lot of CCTV along the way. He today simply steers his car straight as the car carrying the girl turns at an intersection, acting like any other driver who happens to pass by.
“Stay it's crazy.” Aland complained. Now his head hurts to think about his sister's behavior.
The Caldwel family were five of the most influential families in Black Mountain. As the successor to a family with several powerful business networks, not much could scare Aland to this day. Ralph has brought big trouble for them because of a little thing, woman.
“I'll contact Ray to talk about this.” Ralph got up from his seat suddenly.
“Go away just like that? You were so generous giving me something I could think of all night.” Aland. Ralph rarely came home. He lives in an apartment in the middle of the city. Aland lives with his wife and children in their extended family home. “At least stay until dinner. Maybe I can find a solution to your problem. Don't act rashly.”
Ralph smiled wryly. She knew her brother was not only worried about her but Caldwel's family as well. Mr. Kent is a cruel figure. He never acts half-heartedly against those who are considered to be against him. “Do not worry too much. The Caldwel family will be fine.”
On the way back to the apartment, Ralph dialed a number and spoke to someone across the street.
“Ray, I have a task for you. I want you to handle it carefully. If not, if you let your guard down a little, not only your life is a bet but also the lives of the entire Caldwel family.”
