Kennard listened to the sound at the end of the connection.
“True. I'm alone.” He said in a flat voice, then listened again.
His face was cold when someone said something. His eyes looked grimly at everything in front of him. It was just a one-way conversation because Kennard said nothing else afterwards. When the connection is cut off, the man puts the phone back into place.
Steve left the room because he felt he was no longer needed. As his steps were about to reach the door, he heard a strange laugh that made his hair stand on end. Steve turned around and found the president grinning with eyes filled with black flashes.
Kennard laughed in a horrifying look. Steve had seen it when his master once killed dozens of people who betrayed him. The man laughed like a demon before shooting at the poor people without blinking.
“There can I do for Tuan?” ask Steve. He was sure, his master had heard something ominous.
“No. No, Steve. There's nothing you need to do.” The corner of Kennard's lips seemed raised leaving a tingly feeling, but his eyes were glistening evilly. “I'm just feeling surprised. Someone called me and told me that my girl was in his power. He asked for a large sum of money and threatened to hurt him if I didn't fulfill their request immediately. Besides being weird, doesn't that sound funny?”
Steve was stunned to hear Mr. Kent's explanation. It did sound strange because all this time no one had dared to threaten his master, let alone with such old tricks of kidnapping someone and asking for a ransom.
One of the things that made his master so strong with his current position was the fact that the man had no one left. His entire family was wiped out in an attack by traitors one winter day six years ago. Mr. Kent then went crazy in his solitude. He made Black Mountain within his grasp and destroyed his enemies within just a year. The man had no weakness called family. And threatening her on behalf of a girl does sound ridiculous.
Steve doesn't feel funny at all. Someone kidnaps Miss Lisle and asks her master for ransom when their relationship is over. He imagined the bad thing that would befall the girl if her master refused to fulfill the requests of those fools.
Did his master really find this all funny and would let the kidnappers carry out his threat? In the name of a past togetherness, would not his master be generous? It wasn't too difficult for this man to save Miss Lisle.
Steve tried to find the little hope left from his master's eyes. He glanced at Mr. Kent but hurriedly lowered his head and turned out of the room when Kennard gestured telling him to leave. Shown in Steve's mind was the face begging Celine, Lisle's best friend. The girl would definitely be very disappointed if she saw how Mr. Kent would react at this moment.

Old warehouse, west of Black Mountain town.
Lisle did not recognize the man in his forties in front of her, but seeing the disgusting grin on his face made the girl's stomach suddenly nauseous. Today he started to be good at marking one's bad intentions just from his smile that looked different. This man even made him shiver in fear just from the way he looked at Lisle from head to toe.
“You don't recognize me, Beautiful?” The man in the black leather jacket approached and sat on the edge of the bed near Lisle's toe. “Tak what. I recognised you. I still remember you even though I only got a glimpse of you.”
“You know, because of a small sin ‘four saw you’, lord Kent ruined my whole life. While you? I saw you guys start having fun. Though like me, you guys are just two people who just know each other.” The man looked bitterly smiling.
Lisle moved her face to the right left trying to remove the hand from her face, but the grip was getting stronger until the girl felt like her face was going to crumble in one hand.
“Si... who are you,” asked Lisle softly in despair. He felt that he did not recognize this person despite trying to remember him.
“You forgot a night at the club? We're almost having fun if you don't run away and meet that demon guy.” The man leaned on Lisle, feeling tempted by the tiny lips.
“Mr Adolf?” Lisle turned her head in horror. He remembered. The name he had only heard without ever knowing what the person was like and Lisle also did not want to know. Successfully escaping that night was indeed a great fortune for Lisle. That very night he met Mr. Kent for the first time.
Is he able to return today to escape the evil intentions of this master Adolf? Lisle became unsure. He was in a strange place hidden and alone shackled by hands and feet. How could he hope to escape?
Mr. Adolf smirked happily. “You remember me. I'm very happy. Maybe I'll be kind by treating you more gently. Of course if you want to work together too. Serve me well.”
“No. Sir, please stay away. Me...” Lisle tried to push Adolf's master's body with two hands bound but to no avail.
Adolf squeezed the girl with his body and lowered his head intending to kiss the voluptuous-looking mouth when someone opened the room door.
“Master, my men do not see any movement from Mr. Kent. You sure, if this girl is valuable?” A large tall man with a rough look stood in the doorway. He stood slightly lowered as the top of his head almost touched the top of the frame.
Adolf pulled himself away from Lisle while releasing his grip on the girl's face. Lisle looked pale but also relieved. Just a moment ago he thought it was better to die than to feel Master Adolf's touch on his lips.
“I followed him for months before going out of the country and meeting you. This girl is special. He even lives in Palm Garden, a place that no girls have ever been with Mr. Kent.” Adolf spoke in an annoyed tone at having been doubted by his colleague.
“I already have no relationship whatsoever with lord Kent!” Lisle suddenly interrupted. He had pity on himself and the two people in front of him. While the two hope to take advantage of Lisle, the girl imagines Mr. Kent's reaction when these kidnappers contact the man. Right now, maybe Mr. Kent is laughing at their silliness.
“She won't come, believe me...” Lisle looked down at her bound arm. The water returned unstoppable.
