Lover Forced The Ruler
Chapter 78. Deal

Lisle felt a comfortable darkness for a while.

His eyes frowned as he began to wake up. A dark shadow blocked his view on the ceiling of the room. Kennards. Lisle turned her face avoiding the man's gaze. Fainting does not remove his frustration.

"You're sober?" hard Kennard soft. There was a feeling of guilt when he saw the girl fall unconscious.

Lisle did not answer. He closed his eyes again. Means of not responding to the mercy that flashed in the man's eyes. Where was that feeling when he told her to run around the track under the heat of the sun?

"Drink first." Kennard offered a bottle of cold water. He purposely touched it slightly to his wife's sulking cheek. The man knew, Lisle was annoyed at him.

Lisle was actually very thirsty. When he tried to swallow, his throat even hurt. And the shadow of the cold water crossing his throat was very tempting.

"Wakeup. I know you're upset. But it's for your own good, too. Besides, weren't you the one who asked? What you've started must be finished." Kennard now put the cold bottle on his wife's neck until she wriggled between the tingly and the cold.

Lisle finally tried to wake up. But his whole body hurts. Especially calves. It can hardly be moved.

Kennard helped his wife get up and put a pile of pillows on her back. He opened the sealed bottle and gave it to his wife.

Although she looked reluctant, Lisle also welcomed the bottle that her husband had extended. He drank it greedily until it choked. It was like walking all day in the desert.

"You can drink as much. But slow down." Kennard reprimanded his wife's reckless attitude.

"It's so thirsty." Lisle muttered while giving back the empty bottle, making Kennard shake his head.

"You're very stubborn when you're angry. You should also be stubborn enough to continue the practice. So, is my stupid wife going to give up when she's just starting out" Kennard said, straightening his back against the bed rest.

"Who said I gave up? But you told me to practice when we just arrived. I am so tired and want to rest for a while. The weather is very hot anyway…." Lisle bent her lips. "I need to adjust."

"The weather will always be hot. That can't be an excuse. Don't complain about the same thing. If you want to rest, you can rest until tomorrow morning. After that you have to work hard. We haven't been here long." Kennard refrained from lethargy to hear his wife's whining. He'll just give you a little leeway.

Lisle was silent for a moment before nodding. "good. I won't complain after this. But you can't interrupt my break tonight either." He emphasized on the word 'disruptive'.

It could have been that the man seemed to generously give her some time off but kept her awake all night. Based on his experience so far, Kennard is very sneaky in negotiating.

Kennard's eyes narrowed. A moment later his evil smile was seen. "Agreed."

Celine was awake by the sound of her phone. He had a glance at the numbers in the notification bar. It's too early. The sky outside was not even bright.

The screen displays the name of the caller. Reynard's sister. The girl's heart suddenly thumped hard. It was not usual for the younger brother who was still sitting in SMU to contact him this early. Something must be wrong. Is her mother's health deteriorating?

"Rey? What's up?" Celine could not hide the panic in her voice.

"Celines. Can you come home this morning? Mother's got another attack. We're in the hospital now." The young man spoke with a trembling voice. He was obviously trying not to cry.

"Oh my God, Rey. Sure do. Of course I'll be home soon. I'll get ready now. But how's mom doing?" Celine's hand holding the phone was already shaking. His mother had her first stroke. If you get the next attack, it will be fatal.

"Rey. Be calm. Mom's gonna be fine. I'll be there soon." Celine tried to calm down and then cut the connection.

With Celine hurrying to take a shower and get dressed. He even intended to have breakfast on the way.

Celine arrived at the hospital just before lunch. His sister Rey greeted him with a matted face. Her aunt and uncle, who helped care for her mother, were also in the room.

Ever since her mother was attacked a few months ago, Celine has been reluctant to leave them. But aunt convinced him to finish his studies. Her mother's sister lives close to them. So in the end despite the weight, Celine strengthened her heart to continue going to college.

"How's mom doing?" celine asked Rey. He held the arm of his mother who was lying still on the bed. The arm was drooping.

"The doctor said surgery should be done immediately. There's a problem with the blood vessels in his head. And the operation can't be done here." Rey tells.

Celine's heart is shaken. The operation? Can't be done in this hospital? Where then? How much does it cost him for all that?

"What hospital?"

"Health Paradise's. In Black Mountain." Rey said it with a heavy heart. He knows the difficulties they are facing. They have not paid for their insurance for a long time. Since their father died a year ago, their mother has worked as a babysitter in a wealthy family. The salary is not much. Although coupled with Celine's remittance money, it still did not meet their expenses.

Now all hospital costs must be borne by themselves. Rey could see the panic in her sister's eyes.

Celine tried to catch her breath as slow as possible. He had a hard time keeping his lungs filled with oxygen.

"Then we have to take him immediately." Celine convinces her sister that they will have her mother operated on to save her life.

"What about the cost?" ask Rey carefully.

"I'll find a way to get it." Although actually he has not found a shadow as a solution to their problems, but Celine does not want her sister to be anxious. He'll get his way out.

"Celine." The uncle who had just been listening to their conversation, suddenly called out. "Something we want to talk to you about."

The man, who was often called master Sam in their small town, gestured for Celine to leave the room.

Celine got up from her seat, walking after her uncle. Her aunt also joined.

Outside, on a deserted passageway, the three stopped.

"Uncle, what's wrong?" Celine felt like she was going to hear something bad.

His uncle stared for a moment at his nephew. He breathed heavily before speaking. "This may be the solution to your problem. But I thought you'd mind."

"Tell me. I wonder how this could be the solution to our problem." Celine tried to guess.

"Mr Eaton made an offer for your home. But this time the price is lower than before. It seems like he's trying to take advantage of the situation." Sam's complaining to himself.
