Lover Forced The Ruler
Chapter 53. Meet Mr. David

“Lisle?” A voice reprimanded Lisle from behind him. The girl paused for a moment from her job mopping the floor in front of a store. He turned his body.

A handsome young man walked over. He was wearing an expensive-looking suit. Lisle recognizes him as David, a friend of Mr. Kent. The girl suddenly recalled their meeting on the boat. And the holidays that he once considered ridiculous, today become memories that resemble dreams. It was beautiful but not real to him.

“Mr David...” Lisle nodded a little. His heart felt sad without explanation. Seeing this man reminded her of someone else.

“What are you doing here?” David suddenly became furious at Lisle's pitiful appearance. The girl still looked beautiful and gentle as usual, still arousing passion and affection. But in the cleanliness uniform she wore, Lisle looked unhappy. No, it wasn't the uniform that made David feel sorry. The fact that there was someone at the top there who actually liked this girl, but had been so arrogant as to not care about her anymore made David feel heartbroken and upset simultaneously. It felt like he was dragging Kennard here to show the haughty master the appearance of the girl who had once been very special to him. David could not believe that his friend would not lose his heart.

“I work here, Mr.” Lisle smiled a little. He was not ashamed to admit it in front of this young master.

“What Ken knows?” David tried to fish.

Lisle. “This has nothing to do with Mr. Kent, sir. We no longer have any relationship..” The girl avoided David's eyes. He observed the end of the mop in his grasp.

“Ehm, so what I heard was true, you're not staying in Palm Garden anymore.” David looked around the mall which was not too crowded. “How about we find a place to talk. Probably in the cafe there.” David pointed at a place not too far away.

“Now it's time for business hours, sir. I can't.” Lisle tried to explain that she could not carelessly leave her job.

David remained silent. Actually he could have said that it was fine for him to leave work for a while. David can take care of it. But because he did not want to argue with Lisle, he finally promised to wait for the girl after work hours.

They met at a cafe not far from the mall. Lisle was actually reluctant to meet again with anyone around Mr. Kent.  But since David asked her politely, Lisle was not at all good at rejecting her.

“Sorry, the other day I ignored you. I thought you guys were gonna say hello to each other. Turns out Ken could be that young.” David ordered two cups of coffee and cake at the cafe waiter.

“It's okay,” Lisle said while trying to smile. She felt awkward being in the crowd with David with her. Ever since they entered, this young master had instantly become the center of attention. Was this man not shy about walking side by side with him who was wearing a mall janitor's uniform? Lisle wondered to herself. However since between them there was no relationship whatsoever, Lisle relaxed a little.

“Have you forgotten what I said?” David looked at the dreamy looking Lisle.

The girl lifted her gaze from the coffee cup in front of her. “Which words?” He did want to forget anything related to Mr. Kent even though it was actually even more unable to.

“If one day you break up, you can look for me.” David reminds Lisle of something he once said on vacation.

“For what?” Lisle seemed to think. Does he have to report to this young master?

David complained in his heart. This girl's mind is too simple. Didn't Lisle know that the words meant to imply a sign that she was interested in the girl? That if Ken doesn't want it anymore, David could be his other place to depend. However accepting Lisle's innocent gaze, David did not say that.

“As a friend, I can help when you're in trouble. For example, I can give you a more decent job at my company..”.

“Thank you, Mr. David. I already have a job. I don't want to work relying on a.” connection anyway Lisle cut fast. Do I look so pathetic in this uniform? Think Lisle. He lifted his cup of coffee and drank it a little.

“Ah yes, you have a job..” David was confused as to what else to say. “Who knows you'll have another problem, I can help you. I can also do what Ken did for you. You know, he's not the only one who has everything.”.

David was desperate to hear it. It's just right that Mr. Kent is sulking. This innocent-looking Lisle was not an easy-looking girl. Even when she clearly offered everything, Lisle seemed uninterested.

“I'll take you.” David got up from his seat.

“Not necessary. I'll take a taxi,” refuse Lisle.

David was not forced. He helped find a taxi for Lisle, paying his fare at the beginning. Don't forget he put a business card into the girl's hand with a message, “Contact me if you need help.  Ah, naw. You can also call me anytime. No need for any reason.”

But on the way home, Lisle passes David's business card through the car window, letting him get carried away by the wind, disappearing into the pitch-black night. He didn't want to have any kind of relationship with the people around Mr. Kent, people who would just keep reminding him of the man.

“You look uninspired.” Celine reprimanded Lisle who had just arrived at the apartment.

Lisle smiled slightly, not responding to Celine's words. He put his bag on the table and went to the bathroom. A moment later he had returned to the room, put on his nightgown and immediately turned his back to Celine who was working on something at the study table.

“What's the problem?” Celine looked at Lisle's back which looked trembling. It seems that girl is crying.

Lisle shook her head in her almost silent sobbing.

Celine took a breath. “Then why cry?” There was no way the girl was sad for no reason, Celine thought.

“I also don't know.” Lisle suddenly rose from her lying down, wiping her tears at a glance. “I met Mr. David today..”.

“Mr David?” Celine tried to remember someone by that name she might have known.

“He's a friend of Mr. Kent...” Lisle.

“David Garren?” celine asked doubtfully.

Lisle nodded.

The Garren family was very famous, so of course Celine had heard of it. He was amazed that Lisle could know so many famous people. Excitedly, Celine fixed her seat. “Then?”

“We only talk for a moment. That's it,” Lisle said.

“You met Mr. Kent's friend, talked to him for a while and then came home sad. Must have said something that made you sad.” Celine could not believe that there was no reason for the girl to cry.

“Nothing matters. He just asked me about my relationship with Mr. Kent and I said it was over..”.

“That's it!” Celine suddenly exclaimed. “He made you think of Mr. Kent so you're sad. Lisle, you're in love with Mr. Kent. Didn't you realize it?”
