Chapter 25. Back to Work

They arrived at Black Mountain in the early morning. A car has been waiting to deliver to Palm Garden. Lisle was surprised when Kennard didn't get in the car.

“Go home first. I have a little business. Once done I will catch up.” Kennard tells when he finds the girl wondering.

The girl just nodded in response. Actually he was disappointed because he finally could not get to campus today. But he was determined to come to Cloud's cafe later that afternoon.

Lisle had seen Steve open the door of another car for Kennard before finally the car he was riding moved to leave the port. He frowned because he felt a little dizzy. Daisy will definitely have a lot of questions filling her head. Not to mention when I meet Celine. He must have a convincing answer.

After taking a shower and breakfast, Lisle took a short break in her room. He felt strange about his presence in this house. It is in stark contrast to his previous life which was difficult. Even just for breakfast he must hold it so that his finances are sufficient for one month.

Ahead of lunch, Lisle asks the driver to drive her to Cloud's cafe. The car stops at the end of the block because it doesn't want Daisy to get off a fancy car. A little excited, Lisle stepped down the sidewalk towards the Cloud cafe not too far away.

Cafe Cloud at lunch that day was very different from the previous days. More crowded. Lisle entered hurriedly and found Daisy who was busy preparing some menus. Upon seeing his arrival, the cafe owner girl immediately stopped her activities.

“Lisle!” Excited excited. She almost hugged the girl when Lisle rejected her.

“Do not overdo it. I didn't leave for a week. Don't welcome me like I haven't seen for years.” Lisle laughed as soon as she saw Daisy scowl. “Thy next time only. Many customers. We serve them first.” Lisle rushed to the break room, kept the bag and put on an apron.

Daisy introduces Lisle to her new employees. Two guys. Lisle furrowed her brows. Do I need this many people? Her thought. The cafe does look more crowded than usual, but it does not require two more employees. Three people plus Lisle.

In between the rush of delivering orders to several tables, Daisy occasionally glanced at Lisle. She felt the girl's appearance was a bit different after a few days of not seeing each other.

“Your body is good.” Daisy commented on the simple cream canal Lisle was wearing. She's a fashion fan. Although the calculations are also if you want to buy, but he does not miss the latest fashion information. The dress was eventually recognized by Daisy as a limited edition brand name and just released this season. In his heart he began to guess.

Lisle was a little surprised by Daisy's comment. “ Oh, thank you.” He continues his job of washing dishes while worrying that Daisy will prolong the business of this shirt. She knows Daisy knows all about clothing brands. Her friend often opens several fashion sites. It is possible that he recognized the clothes he was wearing.

Whereas at Kennard's house, in the room, he had ruffled the contents of all the cabinets, looking for the simplest dress so as not to attract attention. But the expensive price can not be seen only from the model, the material of the clothes used is very soft and comfortable, the seams are very neat and although simple but have been designed by professional people.

It's just that Lisle's hopes were not fulfilled. After the cafe visitors began to decrease and they can already be more free to talk, Daisy again brought up the problem of clothes she wore.

“Isn't this the Sunny brand from Mr fashion house. Louis? If it's not wrong they only make it five. How did you get it?” Daisy even pulled the neck of the shirt Lisle was wearing and found her guess was not wrong. The brand in question is graceful there.

Lisle complained inwardly. He can no longer squirm. Before she answered, Daisy had already looked at him suspiciously.

“A. And she's not my girlfriend. This shirt is a relative of mine who gave. I just met them while visiting aunty at Glassville.” Lisle. She can't let Daisy think that Kennard is her boyfriend. No, he was just a toy to the man. Although Kennard often refers to him as his girlfriend, lover, woman, but the essence of their relationship is actually money and power. Lisle needs money for her aunt's recovery and Kennard's power to take refuge from Aaron's master's cunning.

“Kerabat? You said the only relatives you had were your aunt and cousin. How can there be another relative?”

“Only distant relatives but then we became quite close. They even live in this city. I. I now live with them. I don't live in an apartment just yet.” All of a sudden the idea flashed smoothly in Lisle's head. Daisy was seen who initially seemed excited to connect the clothes worn by Lisle and Kennard. The girl seemed to be silent in thought. His brows frowned as if realizing that he had been lied to.

“You sure they're your relatives?”

“He uh.” Lisle nodded strongly until her neck hurt.

Daisy finally gave up. He left Lisle without asking any more.

They rest for a while while preparing for dinner. Lisle gets acquainted with Daisy's two new employees. Cindy is a student like Lisle too. She lives with her mother and her little sister. He tells Lisle that he is very lucky to finally have a job. Laura is a high school dropout. She lives in a parlor and decides to work to reduce depending on the compassion of the parlor owner who has already raised her. He said one day he also wanted to study at the Diamond Ritz like Lisle.

Initially Lisle was about to ask Daisy's decision to accept two more workers and say that it was really unnecessary. He and Daisy are enough to serve customers because only at certain hours are crowded.  But then he canceled his intention. Cindy and Laura seem to be in desperate need of this job.

It is remembered by Lisle that Daisy once said that they only work temporarily in place of him who is not allowed to enter work. So, will they be dismissed after Lisle returns to work? One thing she knows from Daisy's nature, she's too kind-hearted. Receiving Cindy and Laura work is also probably not just for the reason that she needs people to help her in the cafe, but rather because Daisy pityes both of them. Lisle, as Kennard said, doesn't really need to work.

They were busy after dinner. Cafe Cloud apparently became famous along that road. Lisle spent her working hours feeling uneasy. His presence here somehow became alien. He was about to do something a few times, but it always preceded Cindy or Laura. Both looked diligent and deft. Daisy, who realizes that she is laughing, pats her shoulder and says that the two girls do not like to look idle. But for Lisle all it seemed as an effort both of them in order to continue working.

As soon as the last visitor paid for his order and the working hours ended, Lisle who could not stand it anymore with an uncomfortable working atmosphere, paid off first. After finishing the table and feeling no longer know what to do as the deft Cindy and Laura seemed to have taken over all the work, Lisle took off the apron and took her bag.

“Daisy, I feel less well. I'm going home first, huh?” He told Daisy who was counting the day's earnings at the cashier's desk.

“Oh, okay. Happy resting. If you still feel bad tomorrow, you should not have to work first.” Daisy waved at a glance and again lowered her face to the papers on the table.

The deg! Daisy's words somehow made Lisle's feelings even more uncomfortable. Though she knew Daisy said that with good intentions but to Lisle the sentence seemed to state that they did not need her in the cafe.

Lisle lethargicly stepped along the sidewalk towards where he had been taken down this afternoon. The driver promised to pick her up when the cafe closed at the place. From a distance he saw a car was waiting, the car that drove him earlier this afternoon. The driver opened the back door. Lisle immediately walked in and sat down, then was surprised by the presence of someone else there.
