The moment Lisle arrived at the back gate of the campus, she felt an awkward atmosphere. There are different things that make it uncomfortable.
A person sometimes unwittingly has some kind of alarm system of danger signs in his brain. Some kind of warning of bad things happening. Lisle felt it but was not sensitive enough. He ignored that feeling and continued his footsteps under the gaze of dozens of pairs of eyes.
Just walking a few meters, Lisle was already greeted by the anxious look of Celine, her best friend. The girl hurriedly came to him and dragged Lisle to a place that was somewhat hidden behind a large tree that was growing lined up along the side of the barrier wall.
"Celine, what's wrong?" Lisle gasped for breath after they stopped. His breathing felt almost severed after stepping so fast.
Celine caught her breath before saying blame. "Why go to college today. Aren't you just married? Didn't you guys go on your honeymoon?"
The whole question made Lisle who thought that something was wrong suddenly become upset. "I'm just bored at home. We are planning to travel this weekend. But I think these two days I can go to college first…."
"Stupid girl! Why not just stay home. Just two days. After that you can have fun without being distracted by the mess here…." Celine said in a high tone.
Lisle looked at her best friend with a confused look. "What chaos?"
Celine had not yet answered that question, a voice interjected. "So this is that cheap girl?"
The two friendly girls turned to a group of female students who were suddenly already around them.
It was a girl who was pouting who spoke. Lisle did not know her and did not understand why the word 'cheap girl' was addressed to her.
"What do you mean?" Lisle looked puzzledly at the dozens of people who were starting to take an interest in the crowd. "Celine, here…." The look asked for an explanation to Celine in her eyes.
"Something's spreading rumors that you…." Celine felt unbearable to say it straight and was looking for more subtle words to explain.
"Didn't you sell yourself to rich old men? That's not a rumor. The proof is enough. Today everyone saw for themselves. A poor girl like you could probably come to college by changing into a fancy car." The scowl spoke again which was justified with a nod and a voluptuous comment in the morning air.
Celine complained unconsciously. Basic people with shrimp brains. Their minds were too shallow, drawing conclusions from an uncertain matter. But the girl also had trouble explaining. Although actually by saying something like that Lisle has a very rich boyfriend or all by opening up the truth that Lisle is the wife of the most powerful man in this city, the problem will be solved quickly.
But will anyone believe it too? Were they not even laughed at?
Turning to Lisle and trying to guess what the girl would say as an explanation for the people who felt her most holy to believe, Celine instead found Lisle's confused look.
"I. I. I have a fairly rich relative." Lisle spoke stammeringly. "Sometimes I stay at their place…."
Celine almost vomited blood hearing him. Who would believe that explanation? Lisle's way of speaking was very unconvincing.
There was a mocking snort around.
"Yes, it looks like you do have a lot of rich relatives." A voice sounded disgusted as he said it. "But why did they let you live in that shabby apartment?"
Everyone looked at the newly arrived director. Shopia stepped among the crowd in the graceful style of a princess. His figure did stand out among many female students.
"Then how do you explain your relationship with Sally that was put out months ago? Even though the college covered it up, everyone knows the case." Sally arrived in front of Lisle and Celine. His hands were swaggeringly folded in front of his chest. His look was condescending on the two companions especially on Lisle. His figure was higher than both.
"Sally was expelled from college for engaging in the trafficking of girls. Didn't he sell you that night? You're a victim of constant making easy money by selling bodies…."
Plaque!
"Fucking girl! How dare you…." Shopia screamed hysterically while holding next to her flushed face. He had not expected the girl he often called the village to dare to slap him in public.
Plaque!
Another slap landed on Shopia's other cheek. This time harder than before. The girl almost fell to the side.
Shopia roared in wrath. "You…!" He pointed at Lisle's face with trembling hands. "I'll make sure you get kicked off this campus and rot in jail. Just look at it later!"
Lisle's beautiful eyeballs turned red and there was a puddle there. But she refrained from crying. Anger is sometimes magical, making it look haughty.
"We'll see who gets kicked out of here" Lisle said coldly. Remembered by her the cynical gaze of Mr. Kent on anyone he disliked. He imagined. If you can imitate it. Now she knows she can do anything with her husband's help if she wants.
Previously Lisle had never thought of taking advantage of her relationship with the strongest person in Black Mountain. Today he changed his mind. Shopia's accusation to him is so serious. His good name is on campus. Then what's the point of him working hard all this time if he can get money easily? Kennard's black card in his wallet never even swiped it.
"You dare threaten me?!" Shopia's white face was red. Aside from Lisle's former slap just now, anger also added a sense of heat to her skin.
"You threatened me first" Lisle said, not losing.
Shopia spoke no more. With a stomp of his feet he turned around to leave the place accompanied by two girls of his friend.
Lisle looked around, at the people who looked shocked by the incident. "And all of you, I'll make sure whoever spreads those rumors, whoever he is. He will be expelled from the college. Remember this well!"
Lisle's whole life, she never threatened anyone. And throughout their friendship, Celine had only this time seen the other side of Lisle. Is this the dominating influence of Mr Kent? Until the wife who was once sweet like a fairy, now incarnate as a small demon who dared to bully his opponents.
But that's pretty cool! celine thought upon seeing that the effects of the other side were quite influential. The group of people, although there was also a buzz of discontent from some of them, finally dispersed in haste afterwards.
For a moment Lisle looked at the spot where she had originally stood, staring blankly at the group of people who had left. His hands clenched trying not to tremble. The girl couldn't believe that she had just hit people.
"Lisle?" call Celine hesitating.
Lisle looked more in shock than Shopia who had gotten an attack.
"You okay?"
