“Can I borrow your phone for a minute?” Lisle was still unable to close her eyes even though the night was already very late. He remembered the guy named Kennard who he wanted to find his information on. It was embarrassing to ask Celine directly. “I want to find information about something,” added Lisle.
Celine who was lying next to him only gestured with her index finger towards the table where her phone was placed. The girl seemed to be very sleepy.
Lisle felt her throat dry. He read a lot of information about Kennard who was commonly called by Mr. Kent. Not many pictures of him. Just a few indistinct photos but enough to make Lisle recognize him. Indeed he!
How'this? Lisle's heart was pounding thinking of many things. It seemed like he was already involved with someone very powerful. Fear overwhelmed him. Worried Kennard won't let go. The man with priceless assets of wealth is said to have a great influence in government. Their families have inherited wealth from various hereditary businesses and stand behind many political occurrences.
With a tremble Lisle deleted the search history. Didn't want Celine to find any traces of him surfing. Now he again felt dizzy because of his discovery just now.
If Kennard is a rich man who can get anything, why did he make Lisle a target? Aren't there many women who would willingly surrender themselves to him? Many were more beautiful and attractive than the poor Lisle. Butwhy? Why her? Was Kennard curious about his rejection?
Lisle curled up behind the blanket trying to close her eyes, expelling the bad thoughts that filled her head, even the shadow of the man that now flashed.

“You know the beauty contest that our campus holds every year?” Celine placed the tray with the sandwich piece in front of Lisle. The girl was daydreaming. He only heard half of Celine's sentence.
“Beauty contest?” Lisle looked dazed. And not interested. His eyes twitched like something had entered them.
Celine shook her hand. “Already. It's nothing.” His words because he saw his best friend seemed not to pay attention. He picked up two glasses of juice he had just made, handed one to Lisle and sat down in front of him.
“What's up? You still thinking about your aunt?” Celine looked at Lisle as she chewed her breakfast.
“Do you know of the man called Mr Kent?” ask Lisle suddenly. She was afraid of her aunt. But it seems like this Mr. Kent is not a person he can deal with. At least her aunt was far away from Black Mountain. But Kennard is the owner of this town. Where could he hide?
Celine chokes. Lisle just looked at her best friend who coughed until she shed tears.
“Why did you suddenly ask the most feared person in this city?” Celine looked suspiciously.
“Eh, I just want to know. I've heard his name a few times called.” Lisle. It was impossible for him to say that he had met the man twice. The things that happened between them might not even be trusted by Celine.
“Muda, handsome, rich, powerful, arrogant.” Celine pressed her shoulders. “That's a short description. He's even more influential than mayor Evans. The girls adore her and dream of becoming her lover even if it is only one night. But I heard Mr. Kent is very picky.”
Lisle held the edge of the table tensely. “Is there ever anyone who opposes him or may reject his wishes? How's their fate? I mean is he gonna act rude?”
“Yes, God. What am I supposed to do?” Lisle. His body feels weak. His face was thrown to the dining table. Why does he always get into trouble when he has to concentrate on his studies and work?
“Lisle, what's up? Don't tell me you're in trouble with that guy?” Celine looked suspicious as well as anxious.
“No!” Lisle suddenly replied quickly. He woke up stiffly to his back. “Where might I get involved with such a person!”
Celine looked into Lisle's eyes which were twitching anxiously but found no reason for her suspicion. This innocent girl, it felt very unlikely to come into contact with the man. Mr. Kent was not an easy person to find walking around in the crowd so the careless Lisle suddenly bumped into him.
“Already. Don't be so serious. I'm just guessing the origin. Because you're usually not interested in public figures and today you're asking me. I of course so think a no-no.”

After that day, Lisle's days became unsettled. Within a week, nothing disturbing happened. His college went perfectly and his job at the cafe became increasingly busy. The brochures they spread out brought good results. They only have a little time to sit sweetly on the sidelines serving visitors who continue to arrive. Daisy thinks of adding another employee when they start to get overwhelmed.
Of course the girl had no idea that within a week Kennard was on his way abroad. Kennard, who gets information about Lisle down to the smallest detail, orders his men to keep up and follow without the girl's knowledge. He won't let Lisle fall into someone else's hands. He wanted. Knowing there are people who also want it makes Kennard more passionate.
But at the end of the week Lisle gets a surprise from Bert, his cousin who called. I don't know where Bert got it. But Lisle was shocked to hear the sound coming from Glassville.
“Mother hurts.” Bert at the end there told me.
Lisle. He doesn't know what to say. The fact that the woman was trying to sell him to Mr. Aaron made her unsympathetic.
“Lisle, mom is seriously ill. Kidney problems. Maybe it should be lifted. I know we're guilty of you. But...” Bert's voice stopped. “Mr Aaron has already taken our store and home because they did not manage to find you. We now live in the home of a distant relative. But my mom got sick and now we're at Glassville Hospital. What-what don't you want to see him. He always says your name.”
“How can you know my number?” Lisle's question was completely unrelated. But his feelings are uncomfortable. Something feels wrong.
“I got it from a friend of yours. Ah, Lisil. Why are you asking this unimportant question? If you don't believe me, you can come straight to the hospital. Disease section in room number three.”
The call from Bert interrupted his busy life at the cafe yesterday night. The whole day tomorrow he was very unsettled thinking about it. However Aunt Annie had taken care of him, giving him shelter and food for several years. Lisle had a chance to argue with Celine who was suspicious if all that was just the ruse of her aunt and cousin. But today he was already on the bus that took him to Glassville.
After a grueling half-day trip, Lisle arrived at the city she had lived in for more than four years. He called Bert who told him to go straight to the hospital. Passing through several long hallways, Lisle arrived in front of the room where her aunt Annie was in. But there a surprise was waiting for him.
