Lisle and Steve went back to the room. Steve wasn't there long. He was just saying goodbye to everyone. Kennard looked not glancing at all. He only cared about Lisle whose emotions looked in contrast to before in the bathroom. Traces of his tears were even erased completely. Various preconceptions filled his head. He looked suspiciously at Lisle.
"What did you tell him?" Kennard's voice sounded indifferent. It goes against the real feeling. He cares a lot.
"I'm just sorry for her." Lisle gulped down a bit of mineral water from the bottle. His throat feels dry.
"It wasn't your fault."
"It's not his fault either." Lisle doesn't want to lose.
They spoke in a soft voice until barely heard by the others.
"You're stubborn" Kennard said, staring coldly at a girl who looked curious at their conversation and repeatedly glanced at the two.
"You're not making any sense" Lisle replied.
"What?" Kennard turned to Lisle with a look of disbelief. No one ever said it like that.
"You, you don't make any sense" repeated Lisle kalem. He smiled at David who offered him a snack and then shook his head. "You told Steve to go. Then who will take care of everything? Isn't the party just a month away?"
"You worried about the party? There are many people who can take care of it. You don't have to worry." Kennard stroked his wife's hair, sniffing with opium.
"I want my brother at our wedding." Lisle let her husband's fingers play in her hair. A little shy when the guy tried to kiss her.
"OKAY. Doesn't matter. But he had to go again after."
"Ken."
"Darling, you think I don't know what your beloved brother's head is. Right now he must be busy getting ready to enjoy his vacation. Of course he'll meet the girl. Cih, she thought I didn't know their relationship." Kennard laughed cynically.
"So you know Steve's relationship with that girl?" Lisle looked up at her husband. He even made everything there look at him.
"Ehm, are you guys gossiping?" Nathan looked curious about the contents of the conversation husband and wife. Since then he had noticed the two like they were talking about something exciting.
"We're gossiping about you and the new artist. I heard you kneel at his feet. Absolutely disgraceful!" Kennard said something that had absolutely nothing to do with his conversation just now.
Nathan's face flushed. The incident that made it look ridiculous was recorded on a paparazzi camera. But it's not what people think it is. But the news exploded. The artist became very popular afterwards. After that day, Nathan never saw the girl again.
"I know that's not what you're talking about" Nathan grumbled back to his card game. He regretted being curious.
"So, who's that girl? Steve said I knew him." Lisle excitedly hugged her husband's arm. Hope Kennard completes his curiosity.
"Steve didn't tell you?"
Lisle shook her head quickly. "He's very stingy."
"Hm, Steve's right. This information is valuable. I think we should make the exchange because the deal was off the other day." Kennard grinned wickedly.
"Per...exchange?" Lisle immediately remembered their deal as she asked Kennard to find the missing Celine. Unfortunately, the exchange was canceled because Lislah first found Celine. Kennard constantly expressed regret as to why he was not the first to find the girl. Now Lisle hesitates if there is any regret because Kennard feels he has failed to protect his wife or simply because the ridiculous exchange is void.
"I don't think I want to know." Lisle removed her husband's arm and shifted her seat slightly away. "Just keep the information. I don't think that's important. Steve will introduce it later too."
***
In a luxury apartment in the city center.
Steve woke up later than usual. She had actually been awake before but had closed her eyes once she remembered that she did not need to go to the office today. It turns out that a little lazy is pretty fun.
After a late shower and breakfast, Steve picks up his phone and walks by the window.
Steve dialed a number and made a call abroad. After waiting for a while, a sweet voice greeted him, making the man's feeling like spring.
They have not met for a long time. Only occasionally does Steve steal a chance to see him when he happens to be taking care of something without Mr. Kent.
"I booked a flight today to your place" said Steve trying to suppress his outpouring of heart.
There's a stifled cry across there. "You... Did your master tell you to do something here?" From her voice, the girl sounded incredulous.
"Master gave me a leave of absence."
"really?"
Steve just muttered.
"He didn't fire you, did he?" the girl was still doubtful. To his knowledge, Mr. Kent never gave Steve an official holiday.
Steve laughed heartily. Everyone knows he never got a real day off. "He won't be able to fire me."
"You're too confident. Is there anything I don't know?" The girl was smart enough to guess that there was something Steve could be sure of.
"I'll tell you later. Just tell me where I can meet you?"
The girl at the end of the connection mentioned the name of a place. "Call me as soon as you arrive" he added.
Then the connection is cut off.
Steve was still in his place, listening to the silence that was caused when their conversation ended. Then he got ready for a long flight.
For the next seven hours Steve spent feeling bored. He only fell asleep for another hour during the flight because he had previously slept for quite a while. His phone's been switched off since the last call he made. He hurriedly deactivated the thing as soon as some messages from Lisle entered. Otherwise, the girl would definitely call and search for him with a lot of things that he might not be able to bear.
Yardley is in early winter.
Steve did not ask the girl to wait for him at the airport, but the man found the girl standing among the waiting crowd hugging herself. He did not carry a large piece of paper with the name of the person he was waiting for. He was sure Steve would be able to see it right away. And instead he also knew he would be able to instantly recognize the man. Steve is not a man.
They hugged for a moment. The girl was not actually a shy person, but she blushed as Steve looked at her with longing-laden eyes.
"You're getting prettier" said Steve, touching the girl's face. He doesn't know what to say. Before that, there were many things he wanted to talk about.
"Hm." The girl muttered indistinctly covering up her happy feelings. "I've booked you a room at the best hotel in town."
The girl took Steve by the hand and turned around, leading the man to the parking lot. But Steve held back the beautiful hand. The girl looked at Steve in confusion.
"What's wrong? You forget something? Be prompt. Outside the snow began to fall. I'm afraid we'll have trouble driving."
They stand facing. Steve grabbed something from his coat pocket, took out a small black box and stretched it out to the girl in front of him.
"What's this?" The girl received the thing given to her. His heart fluttered as he opened. He could only guess the contents.
Justright. A ring!
The girl looked up at the man in front of her asking for an explanation. He's been through a lot of things that trigger adrenaline. But looking at the beautiful thing in his hand, his voice became trembling. Even his hands were trembling.
"Let's get married" Steve said solemnly.
