Celine was disappointed. He wanted to be angry but felt helpless.
Mr. Eaton one of the richest people in the city has long wanted their home. Not because the house is so good. The Celine family home is a two-story old house. Not too big. It is the legacy of their grandfather. So the building had been around since before Celine and her sister were born. The first time it was built, the house was in a quiet place adjacent to a small forest. Today, the house lies haughty at the intersection of the city's main streets. The development around it has made the house a target of many entrepreneurs
But ever since his father was alive, they never had any intention of selling the heritage house. Although the family life is mediocre not even though his father tried to take advantage of the soaring price. Today, Mr. Eaton was bidding at a bargain price just because they knew Celine needed the money right now for her mother's care.
"No. I'm going to find the money without having to sell the house" Celine said later.
"But how? You know, uncles and aunts can't help much either." Her aunt is talking. The woman who was younger than her mother spoke in a sad tone.
Celine did not answer her aunt's questions. He leaned against the wall of the room while closing his eyes. Lisle can help him, should. Doesn't Lisle have Mr. Kent. It was impossible for his friend to ignore his request. He could make the house a guarantee and would pay for it one day.
Her best friend is somewhere far away for her honeymoon. He felt too anxious to disturb. Although Lisle once advised to contact Mr. Steve if there was a problem, but it was also not an easy thing for Celine to do. He didn't feel familiar enough with the person to be able to just call her.
It was just that the current situation made Celine seem to have to ignore a few things. He couldn't possibly let his mother out just because of a feeling of unease.
Celine hesitantly picks up the phone from inside the bag and searches the contact list. Mr. Steve. He pressed the call icon and started listening.
Does the person want to receive a call from a foreign number? Or even ignore it? What if he's busy?
I heard a long waiting. A one-time. Twice. Celine was nervous. On the third sound, the phone is connected. The girl took a breath trying to overcome her nervousness.
"Hallo?" Steve's voice was full of question marks. Very rarely did a foreign number contact him.
"Tu... Mr Steve?" Celine nodded at the sound. To him it sounded stiff and made him even more reluctant. "I'm Celine, Lisle's friend. Can you convey my message to him? I want to ask for his help."
Celine gulped, trying to wet her suddenly dry throat. He found a curious look from his uncle and aunt.
"I can't promise, Miss. Miss knows they're on their honeymoon. Mr. Kent himself has advised not to disturb him for any non-essential matter." Steve's words shattered half Celine's expectations.
For Mr. Kent, Celine's problems are certainly not important. The scary man would definitely be very angry if bullied for any unrelated affairs at all with him.
"Oh, this may not be important to Mr. Kent. But Lisle said I could reach her through Master…." Celine tried to give an excuse. "I have a little problem here. I think Lisle can help. At least, I beg you, sir can deliver it first."
For some time there was no word from across there.
Come on, just deliver. Be generous to me! You have nothing to lose.
"Sir…."
"Try saying what's the problem? Who knew I could help" Steve suddenly said.
"Eh? It's…." Celine was embarrassed to tell a story. However, this is about money in small amounts.
"Is this too personal for Miss to mind telling her?"
"Ah, it's not so." Celine shook her head as well even though Steve hadn't seen her. "Look. My mother is now in the hospital. He must be transferred to Black Mountain immediately to undergo surgery, while our insurance has not been paid for a long time…."
"I understand the problem." Steve instantly cut Celine's sentence as soon as he caught the root of the problem. "Just bring Miss's mother here. I recommend Diamond Saved Hospital . I'll call the people there."
"But sir, the hospital…." Celine wants to say that even a regular hospital is fine as long as it has the surgical capabilities that its mother needs. He wanted to say that most likely they would not be able to afford the maintenance costs at Saved Diamond. But Celine was confused as to how to say it.
"Don't worry about the cost. I'll take care of it for Miss." Steve said soothingly.
Celine finally gave up. The best treatment was good for her mother. He didn't want to think about anything else for now.
"alright. We'll be ready soon."
"Call me when Miss gets here." Steve reminded.
Then the connection ends.
Celine stared at the screen of her phone that displayed the length of the conversation and the destination number. He still can't believe that Mr. Steve will help him.
"How's it?"
"Is he a friend?"
Almost simultaneously the question was raised by his uncle and aunt. From the piecemeal conversation, they were able to catch that Celine had managed to get the expected help.
"Friends of friends. Actually, I don't really know him. But he's willing to help…." Celine explained briefly.
Mr. Sam and his wife looked at each other for some time.
"You sure it doesn't matter?" ask Mr. Sam.
Celine shook her head. "I don't know. But I don't want to think about it for now.
Within hours Celine's mother was in the care of the Diamond Saved doctors. Steve got there a few minutes after Celine called him back. The girl felt very awkward when meeting in person. Although this was not the first time they had met, Steve's formal attitude towards her made Celine very uncomfortable.
"I've taken care of everything. Miss doesn't have to think about the cost. If anything else is needed, Miss can contact me." Steve was polite.
Celine remembers Steve's attitude towards his best friend Lisle. Is it possible because of her friendship with Lisle that she got this special treatment?
"I'm going first. There's some business I need to get done." Steve said goodbye while nodding respectfully.
No. gabe. It's really very awkward. Celine doesn't deserve to be treated this well.
"Master," call Celine to block Steve's departure.
The man stopped when he reached the door of the room. He turned around and looked at the girl who immediately shrunk under that gaze.
"Anu. Call me Celine. That sounds better." Celine stuttered.
Those brown eyes seemed to imply shock. "If Miss keeps calling me master, I won't stop calling Miss."
