The Woman Ruler of the Altan Clan

The Woman Ruler of the Altan Clan
Chapter 83 Barrier Wall

Shanum smiled at his two best friends. They had come into his room guiltily, thinking Shanum was offended by their words. He just wanted to go to the bathroom. The call of nature was impossible to hold. And because his two friends were busy arguing, he felt it would be useless to interrupt them.

"Pardon us yes, Sha," Diva said grimacingly. While Farah gave a gesture of 'peace' while smiling widely.

"I'm okay. How's debate? Who won?" tanya Shanum raised his eyebrows.

Both menacing. "Hum, there's no losing-win anyway. Just a word of agreement," said Diva.

"Basic, you guys are! If you don't mess around with each other. It never changes, and never until old will be so," Shanum said again with his head shaking.

"But you are often comforted by us, Sha," Farah said with a smile.

Shanum looked at Farah, returning his smile. "Yes, without you my life is lonely. But sometimes you get dizzy too." The three then looked at each other. The first reaction starts from the Diva that looks tickled, then followed by both. Laughter was heard in the room.

They seem to forget for a moment each other's problems. Shanum with Khan's affairs suddenly forgot about him. Diva with the loss of Sergei like swallowed by the earth and Farah with her love that never welcome.

They encourage each other, and comfort each other. Through all the happiness and difficulties together. The friendship that all three have is like a sibling bond. And Shanum hoped it would never end for the rest of their lives.

"So, now what do we want to do?" ask Farah. "Yes, Sha. Are you going back to Khan's nursery?" Diva joined Farah's question.

Shanum sighed. "I think I'd like to be in my room today. I was drained enough to heal him. And my heart still hurts to feel his abandonment. Although I know, he is so because he does not remember me," Shanum replied with a sad expression.

Farah growling. "Whoever heard what you said just now, I became even more annoyed at the Ice Beams. Really men don't know... Ah, come on-" Farah looks upset.

"His name is Khan Adrian, Farah. Not ice blocks, ice cubes, a running refrigerator, and whatever else you call it for him. He also behaved so because his memories of Shanum vanished from his mind." Diva looks grunting while rolling her eyeballs.

Farah nodded. "Yes, I know. But still I don't like to see it make my best friend sad. And the nickname I gave him was indeed in keeping with his extremely cold and stiff expression."

"Keep, what's the difference with Jullian?" The Diva sentence is more mocking than asking.

And now Shanum who sounded giggled. "Gosh damn right. Jullian also had an expression similar to Khan."

Farah immediately grumbled. "It's still different! Jullian was different, he was-" Farah was speechless she looked confused herself.

"Come the difference where? You alone can't answer it right," said Diva again with a big grin.

"Huh, yes you're right. They're the same." Farah finally admitted it. "But still my Jullian isn't as creepy as Khan. Shanum's lover was more arrogant and rigid with manners, "elak Farah.

"Of course he behaved so Farah, the man was a clan leader and was of noble blood. It must be different from your Jullian who is just an ordinary bodyguard" ledek Diva.

"That's enough. You will fight." Shanum tried to stop the debate between his two best friends. He felt the situation back heating up.

"It's up to you, Diva." Farah got up from her seat on the bed. He twisted his body, and stepped out of the room with his face bent. No more words could be heard from his mouth.

"No, he's angry. You guys are really yes! Forgive me! You should apologize to him, Diva." Shanum reminded his best friend.

"Let's go, Sha. It's good soon too. He is so." Diva answered while slipping her shoulder.

"I'm going to the kitchen first yeah, looking for a snack. You just rest" he said again. Diva came out of the room according to her desire to go to the kitchen.

Shanum who saw the behavior of his two best friends could only sigh tiredly. It seemed like the situation was draining the mind and heart he was going through, co-influencing their actions as well. I hope this bad thing passes quickly.

Then Shanum began to lay down his body, he recalled the events earlier. A lot of things came to his mind. If Khan forgets him, what about their bond?

He closed his eyes, trying to trace their bond. Seeing with his inner eyes. The girl felt that the bond was still there, felt from the warmth that welcomed her arrival.

Shanum went deeper and froze. There was an ice wall so high before him, so sturdy that it blocked him from approaching. The wall was not there.

He should be able to step straight into a room without a door, with a view that looks extraordinary. A beam resembling an infrared ray was plastered around an object of golden light. He found her accidentally at the very beginning of their separation. Feeling lonely and longing for the man, he often communicates through their bonds. And while focusing on his subconscious, he found the room.

Surprisingly Khan couldn't see it. Shanum told him the next day, the man fell silent and showed an expression as if he doubted his words. Shanum convinced him, and Khan tried, but after repeated attempts, he did not find the room.

Shanum shook his head, after his mind wandered everywhere, he tried to concentrate his mind again. He forcefully breaks down the ice wall by sending psychic energy towards it.

Shanum.

The energy pounded violently, then shattered into pieces forming colorful sparks, spreading out like fireworks shot into the air. It looks beautiful, but it's stifling for her.

Shanum fluttered like the cold wall before him, his eyes wide open.

The ice wall was not broken.

With a painful surge of adrenaline that made his heart beat too fast, Shanum spun slowly. Faintly, his mind was fixated on the fact that the cold was just around the wall. If it goes further back, the air will feel drier and warmer.

Shanum glanced back at the wall, then his face looked cloudy. He was frustrated and a little desperate. Was it the wall that made the man forget? If so, what made the wall suddenly appear?

At the same time, somewhere else. A man wakes up from his sleep, his lungs seeming to be starved of oxygen. He clutched his throat, patted his chest with his fist and took a painful breath.

His hand was trying to grab a glass of water by his bedside, he tried several times before finally being able to actually grab the glass well. Shaking, Khan downed his drink and wiped his mouth with the back of his hand.

He's sweating. Feeling shivering and fever at the same time. He also frowned feeling the pain that was pounding hard on his head. He was sure he had a bad dream. He felt something terrible as if he was trying to suck his body towards somewhere.

Before that he also felt that there were faint shadows haunting him in the corner of the eye. The shadow was always rebellious, and along with that, he felt his chest ache. It was as if someone was trying to pull his heart out of place. Did anyone try to kill him in a dream? He's not gonna let this happen.

Khan activated his psychic energy and still felt those shadows in his body, even though he had fully awakened. Feeling wrathful, he held back the shadows violently, issuing a rage to destroy them without trying to find out more clearly what they were.

Khan focused his mind, searching for the shadow of the intruder, encompassing it with his will, and with great effort forced him to come out of hiding.

Then suddenly he smelled the scent of a woman. His image is blurred, but he can feel it, even he can smell the smell of his skin. The rush of longing filled him, almost breaking his resolve to look for the figure of the intruder.

Then the picture became clearer. Strangely, he could only see his eyes and body. His face was still faint, as if the woman was wearing a mask that could only reveal her eyes. He was glued for a moment, feeling he had seen those eyes.

Who's the lady? It was clear it was not Sainting, he knew the eyes were not his.

Then he remembered having to go back to looking for the shadow that infiltrated it. Khan doesn't feel it anymore. The intruder was as if it had evaporated just like that, along with the disappearance of the figure of the woman.

Is that woman the intruder? Who tried to hurt him and even kill him?But he's not sure anymore. The woman's eyes only describe a deep pain, not to hurt.

His heart rumbled and he felt as if he had just felt the most bitter confusion he had ever felt in his life. It was as if something had crept into his body and tried to claim him.

Khan shook with trembling, he immediately rose to a sitting position while leaning on the back of the bed. He stared long at the wall before him, slowly took a deep breath, and tried to regain his composure.

The man turned to the door, when he saw that his mother had closed the door and walked up to him. "You awake, son? Why does your face look pale? Did you feel the pain again?"

Many questions were asked by his mother and he only answered with a weak shudder. Khan did not want to make his mother feel any more worried. He already knew what hit him. And she was so grateful to still be given the chance to live.

His mother also told him about her goddess of salvation. The other one was the girl who was in this room. He was not very nice to the girl. Because Khan feels he's a stranger. He always behaves like that to people he just met.

Eej didn't tell me much anymore, because he said he was already very sleepy. Maybe it was because his body was still recovering, he demanded more rest.

"Em, I have something to tell you, son. And I hope you'll take it well." Eej looked agitated, and pensive on his own. Khan suspected much of what his mother was thinking at this time.

"Is there still something you haven't said Eej," asked Khan with a face looking down at his mother. She did not want her mother to keep a lot of weight on her head. Especially if the burden is directly related to him.

"Oh, no. It's just about the girl who saved you. She's..." Eej stopped his words, he seemed hesitant to continue.

"What are you trying to say, Eej? Say, I'll try to listen to it well, even if it's a bad thing" Khan said with a gentle smile at his mother.

"No. It's not a bad thing. I just want you to be accompanied by that girl Shanum and her two best friends while I'm gone" he said quickly.

"Where are you going, Eej?" ask Khan.

"There's important business that I need to finish. So are you ready, son?" reset Eej. The woman was still worried about leaving Khan with no other supervisors besides Jullian and Abdan.

"Why don't Dario or Taban just accompany me here, Eej?" ask again. Khan felt uncomfortable if accompanied by people he did not know. Because all this time he was a typical introverted man who never cared to get along widely.

"Can't! Dario and Taban are busy taking care of your company and also helping me find information about the perpetrators who tried to harm you."

Eej then took a deep breath. "Not to mention that I have to report back your condition to the elders, and ask for a delay in the second stage selection that should start next month" he added.

"Selections?" asked the man while frowning. He felt he could not remember ever asking for a Selection. For hundreds of years, he tried to avoid it in many ways and reasons.

"You don't remember that either?" Eej asked back. If his son does not remember, then his last memory is really before he met Shanum. Ah, it seems that there will be more and more that he will have to explain to that son.

"No. I don't remember it. Abort, Eej. I don't want that ridiculous thing to be done" Khan said, tightening his jaw and holding back his anger.

"But..."

Khan saw the bewildered and doubtful radiance of his mother.

"Cancel! Just reject! I have no interest in taking part in the classly packed circus parade" Khan said again, this time no longer holding back his displeasure.

"I thought," said Eej carefully, "We can't just undo it, son. The selection is already running, and what I will delay is the Stage two Selection. We already have the results of the first stage Selection."

Khan's eyes are getting cold. "Not really!" push it with a stiff face. A man will not be willing to experience again an absurd matchmaking that robs him of his freedom to will.

Eej took a deep breath. The woman was puzzled as to how she explained later to the elders and the noble council. Could it be that giving up the memory loss that befell his son could make them understand, and could grant his request? The woman thought it seemed like it was the best excuse for now.

"Well, I will try to resist it" replied Khan's mother in the end. "But you have to accept my request. Must be accompanied by Shanum," he urged with a pushy expression.

Khan squinted his eyes, piercing his mother with a serious look. "You're not playing a role in setting me up with her, are you, Eej?" tanyanya. "I don't want to successfully evade the Selection, instead falling into the same event because of you."

The woman raised her eyebrows next to her. "Oh, you'd be stunned if your memory had returned, and remembered everything about that girl, son." Eej looks smiling wryly.

Khan looked at his mother for a moment, his eyes narrowed. "Is there something you deliberately missed in your previous explanation, Eej?"

When the woman did not move to deny it, Khan snorted. "Oh, well, don't tell me a really funny joke, that that girl was the girl who was chosen in the first Selection, because I chose her."

"Er. I'm sure the right word is. Not for the first, but yes for the second. And it's not a joke I made to make you laugh either, it's a definite reality." Somehow Khan got confused hearing his mother's answer.

"Have you lost your mind, Eej?" tukas Khan's. The deep wrinkle was clearly imprinted on his forehead. He became even more astonished by her mother's enigmatic answer.

Eej. "Em, you love her, son. And he was your lover from before the Selection," said Eej in a cautious tone of voice again. It was as if Khan was made of porcelain, which broke easily.

"I'm sorry I didn't say it in the first place. I just don't want to make you more confused and force your wounded head to remember. And about the girl, be nice to her, son. He's been suffering enough since he heard you were hurt."

Khan gaped and clenched his mouth again. He felt his ears might have misheard his mother's words. There's no way he loves another girl other than his Sarnai. Khan couldn't have just believed it, if it wasn't his own mother who revealed it.

"No. You must be kidding." Khan was shocked to hear his mother's words.

His mother shook her head, a smile on her lips. "I've told you the truth that I know," he said, "but there are limits that I may not be able to answer. Only you and that girl know. Hmm. That must have been you before. And if you want to know about your relationship with that girl, you better ask her directly, son."

Eej then grabbed his son's hand and patted him, Khan feeling something funny in his behavior. The last time she was treated like this was when she was a child. And it was hundreds of years ago. But he was quite happy, at least the woman's affection was conveyed to him.

Eej held Khan's hand for a while, his eyes narrowed, his facial expression pensive. Khan felt a clear but uncertain sensation that his mother was trying to assess his reaction.

"All right, son," said the woman. "I have to go. Remember, don't be rude to the girl!" continue while smiling.

Khan sighed, then he nodded. He half-heartedly accepted his mother's request. If he could refuse it, he would immediately do so. But unfortunately, he could not reason. Although he was not interested in meeting the girl who he said was his lover.
