Shanum heard the sound of people running. He opened his eyes and blinked. Shanum frowned, looking confused, seeing some people dressed as medics, going back and forth into a room.
His head is in pain. He touched the temple, his thoughts and feelings roaring inside the head. None of this made sense to him. Everything feels somersaulted. The busyness of the people who went back and forth was immediately forgotten.
Shanum regulated his breathing. Trying to reduce the pain that banged on his head. Slowly the pain began to decrease, and only realized that he was already in a room like a waiting room.
He circulated a glance, and found Jullian standing stiffly staring at him with a doubtful and slightly anxious face.
Seeing his face, Shanum remembered that he had teleported with the man. Have they reached where Khan is being treated?
"We have arrived. You better sit down and have a drink. Your face is as pale as paper." Jullian thrust a bottle of bottled water in front of him. "Your head must be very dizzy. Is your stomach nauseous and your body feeling weak?" ask the man.
"Just dizzy" he answered briefly. Then Shanum picked up the water bottle and threw his buttocks on the sofa beside him.
"Where are we Jullian? This place doesn't look like a hospital treatment room."
"We're in a special hospice for the Altan Clan. Because our metabolic conditions are different from those of humans in general, we cannot be hospitalized for ordinary humans."
Then Shanum saw a woman coming out of a door not far from them. The woman looked sad. Then he looked towards Shanum, and stopped stepping.
"Shanum.." he said.
Shanum nodded his head. "Yes, Eej," he replied with a faint smile. The girl immediately got up from her seat and stood up straight.
Khan's mother approached Shanum and hugged him tightly. "Thank God you're here. You okay, Shanum? Howwasyourjourney?"
"I'm good, Eej. The teleportation went well. I just feel a little dizzy."
The woman held her shoulder down and looked at her with a smile. Shanum felt warmth in his heart, and calmness while at the woman's side. Khan's mother was a gentle woman, similar to her own mother.
"You didn't get on a plane?" ask the woman in a surprised tone.
"No Eej, who was on the plane were just my best friends. Em... Is it okay for them to come?"
She smiled again, "It's okay. I know, you three are hard to separate."
Shanum smiled broadly. "Thank you, Eej," he replied.
"Em... How's it going?" shanum asked softly.
The woman breathed her breath. His face became cloudy. He limply sat down on the sofa followed by Shanum.
"Since that event his condition has gone up and down. It just got worse, but now it's stabilized."
"Can he be visited, Eej?" ask Shanum.
"Of course I can. You sure are strong enough to see it. After teleporting so far away I'm afraid you're still tired."
"The pain in my head has diminished, Eej. I want to see his condition immediately." Shanum showed a face pleading with him.
"alright. But don't be surprised to see it, Shanum. My present son is not as handsome as he once was. If you can't, tell me right away" said the woman with a smile on her lips. Shanum nodded his head.
Then Eej got up and stepped towards the door nearby, followed by Shanum behind him. Before turning the doorknob Eej looked back, and looked at Shanum. "You ready, Shanum?" ask again to make sure. The girl smiled as she nodded back.
The woman turned the doorknob, opened it and stepped aside to the side. Give Shanum room to see Khan.
Shanum. It was like experiencing Deja vu. Khan was in front of him wrapped in bandages. The sound of heart rate gauges and blood pressure sounds soft. Makes her remember when the man was also injured and treated to help her.
What is different now is, the man's face is also covered in bandages, leaving only the mouth, nose and eyes. The rest of the body is covered with a thin blanket. He had to pick it up if he wanted to know how extensive the burns were on Khan's body.
Eej approached Khan's bed and flicked the blanket over. Shanum choked, he smothered his mouth. Now he knows that the burns hit ninety percent of Khan's body. The girl was still glued to where she stood. He stared at Eej, as if to say something, but undo the intention, knowing that he could not possibly be allowed to ask for it.
"You're gonna want to see how bad the burn is, right, Shanum?" Suddenly Eej brought up what was raging in his mind. The girl looked surprised, then nodded quickly. If allowed he would take that chance without hesitation.
The woman beckoned him to approach the side of the bed next to her. And Shanum according to, he stepped in as hinted by the woman.
Shanum saw Eej open with a heart-day bandage that was on his face. Shanum slowly looked at the flushed, blistered, swollen skin, and there were some parts that were peeling it. Shanum could no longer recognize Khan.
He felt nauseous, and resisted the strong urge to vomit. His heart was also painful, extremely painful. The man not only lay in a coma, but also looked terrible. His face, it made Shanum feel the pain.
Without a second thought, he gripped tightly on the edge of the bed made of iron, trying to support his limp body. His face paled, and his eyes glazed over.
"Shanum, you need to calm down" Eej said softly. The woman was suddenly at his side, grabbed his hand, then hugged his back, pulling him closer before his knees bent.
"Let's sit down" said Eej, guiding Shanum to sit on the only bench in the room. Shanum broke out in a cold sweat, and even worse, was very sad. He must have been trembling, for Eej had covered him with a thin knitted blanket.
"This is my blanket, I wear it when I feel cold in this room" said Eej.
Shanum buried his face in the blanket, ashamed of being shaken. The blanket is sweet and soft. The woman's scent.
"Sorry," Shanum said quickly. Oh my God, what was he thinking? He sat down while looking sorry to feel nauseous seeing Khan's face. "I shouldn't. I mean I should..." He felt guilty.
The woman then walked towards the window. His position was turned to Shanum. "My son had third-degree burns, the medical staff who treated him said. If he were an ordinary man, he might have already experienced death. You've probably been told by Jullian about black magic meddling here." The woman then turned her body back towards Shanum.
"I don't know who did the forbidden act. But I will find out and destroy it, down to its roots!" The woman looks angry. His eyes glinted sharply and savagely, there was a terrible death that would be accepted by the black magic owner if found.
Shanum shuddered in horror, seeing that. She was told by Khan that her mother was a sadistic woman behind her soft packaging. Her magic was also quite high, and no one dared to look for her because of her, unless they wanted to pick her up sooner.
But he was also always fair and wise, not willing to act cruelly unless someone challenged him. Then Eej re-expressed her gentle, motherly expression, and said, "you must rest Shanum. Today has drained enough of your energy. Later Jullian will take you to one of the rooms on the top floor of this nursing home."
"Home room for visiting guests?" tanyanya's confused. He just heard there are health facilities that serve it.
"Yes, this nursing home is mine, I provide five floors for the waiter who wants to stay overnight. And the top floor was reserved exclusively for my family" he replied with a faint smile.
Eej, approach Khan and return the bandage on his face as before. Shanum noticed the process with a grim face. Once done Shanum asked permission with a gesture to approach Khan closer, and he was allowed to. The man looked like a mummy, his whole body was full of bandages, he was like he was roasted alive during the fire. And it's really creepy, imagining the pain he's going through.
Shanum held the weight of his body at the end of the bed and then brought his lips closer to the man's ear which was covered in bandages as well. "You have to fight, honey. And believe that you are strong. I'll always be here, looking after you, and I won't leave you. So you have to try to fight the black magic to recover" Shanum whispered with tears dripping from the corner of his eyes, and directly rubbed it.
Then he approached the man's forehead, looked at him for a moment, and gently dyed the bandage that was there. For a long time he put his lips together. The girl tries to provide warmth in the bond that unites their souls. I wish there was a reaction in the bond. But he was too hopeful, there was no reaction. The silence was still felt, as if there was a certain power that was fortifying within the bond.
After that, he lifted his face. He ran the tip of his fingers into the man's face, down onto his shoulders and into his arm, which was covered in bandages while wiping it very carefully. Throughout the activity, tears were constantly dripping from both of his eyes. His breathing choked, he felt an overwhelming tightness within his chest.
"Shanum, let's get out" Eej sidelines as he gently pats her on the shoulder. He led Shanum out of the room. Shanum looked back at Khan, feeling heavy to leave him. They returned to the waiting room, greeted by Jullian with his flat face, instantly moving with half a respectful bow towards the two.
"Take Shanum to our penthouse Jullian," Eej said giving the order to the man. "Okay, Your Majesty," he replied as he nodded respectfully.
Then Shanum followed the man towards the elevator which was at the end of the hallway with shaky steps. They enter the elevator and Jullian puts his fingerprints on a screen. And surprisingly beside the screen appeared the number twenty-six button, and the man directly pressed it.
It seems that the number button should not be carelessly known by others. Because the people who enter the elevator can only find the button up to the number twenty-five only. The twenty-sixth number keys are protected with layered security.
Shanum was not surprised to see that. Because before he had also seen more sophisticated in the Khan mansion.
The elevator stopped on the twenty-sixth floor, the elevator doors opened automatically, and they came out of the steel box.
Being outside, he found a hallway, similar to the appearance of a five-star hotel hallway, with luxurious decorations on the walls, and a thick carpet that felt tender if stepped on. The lights above their heads were turned on automatically along with their steps towards the door that was at the end of the hall.
Jullian reattached his fingerprint on the rectangular plane at the corner of the door. Then the lights above the door light up and sound 'clack' door lock sign is open.
"Everyone wears fingerprints, what if I have to come back here every day? There's no way I'm counting on you, Jullian." Shanum's voice broke the silence in the room.
"Of course I'll register your fingerprints Shanum" the man replied.
"When will that be?" his insistence.
"After you rest" said Jullian.
"What if I ask him now? So that I don't keep bothering you" urged the girl again.
Jullian was speechless, he seemed to think for a moment of Shanum's insistence. "Okay, if you ask now. We'll start the process. But it's me and Abdan who will escort you as long as you're here Shanum."
"Why do you keep me under control? Do you not believe me?" I asked with a disappointed face.
"It's not like that. We were given orders to take care of you and your two best friends while we were here, for fear that the bad guys who harmed the Great will come after you, Shanum."
Shanum exhaled. "I'm sorry, I forgot about that. But if the situation is still dangerous, why would you allow my two best friends to come here."
"That order comes from Your Majesty, the Great Mother herself. I also don't know what special consideration he's thinking."
Shanum nodded his head in understanding with all of Jullian's answers. "Okay, then we can start scanning her fingerprints," the girl said.
Then Jullian put his fingerprints back on a small rectangular screen near the door. And he pressed the red button next to the screen, and on the screen appeared a row of numbers that somehow function as what. The man pressed a few numbers, then a fingerprint image appeared there.
Shanum was asked to stick his thumb in the field to record his fingerprints. The process repeated three times. Then they tried to open the door, and all worked out well.
"What about the elevator? Do we have to go back there to record my fingerprints?"
"no need. This access already includes an elevator" the man replied. Shanum nodded in reaction and opened the door knob to enter the penthouse.
After he was inside the penthouse room, Jullian called out to him. "Oh yes Shanum, at the dinner table there is food for you. So enjoy it." Then the man closed the penthouse door again, leaving Shanum alone in the room.
The girl looked at the entire contents of the extremely luxurious and comfortable penthouse. He circulated his gaze around and began to look at the contents deeper.
After opening each room, he decided to choose one of the empty rooms that were not filled with belongings of someone, from the five rooms that were there.
Two rooms were already filled by someone, in one of them Shanum found female equipment, which must have belonged to Eej. And one more he estimates as a room belonging to Khan, because it looks the belongings of the man in the room. He even had to cry sobbing on the edge of the bed when he saw the man's mobile phone.
After taking a shower, he headed to the dining table, seeing what food he could enjoy. But after a few mouthfuls with his chosen food, he lost his taste buds. But he had to fill his stomach, and tried to swallow the food again by force. Until finally he could not take it anymore, the plate was removed to the side.
The girl entered the room, then climbed into the bed. Trying to close his eyes, and rest his body muscles that scream pain. He needs to sleep in order to bring out his healing power for Khan tomorrow.
Slowly he began to feel calm, his breathing sounded regular, before how long the girl began to fall asleep. Unaware that the door was open, Khan's smiling mother stared at him.
