The Woman Ruler of the Altan Clan

The Woman Ruler of the Altan Clan
Chapter 3 Mother's Confession

Shanum tapped the tip of his foot as pop music rang out from the stereo set in the living room. Even from this kitchen, the sound of music sounded so soft. The singer in the song lends verses about syahdu-sounding love. Shanum cooked while humming slowly following the song.

"What cooking, honey?" Mother rebuked Shanum. He turned his head, his movement of stirring the seasoning in the frying pan came to a halt. "Fried rice cooker, ma'am." Mom smiled, putting down the dishes, and the dirty glass she was going to wash. "Hmm, Mom, what about the answer? Did Mom and Dad agree on Shanum's planned departure to Astrakhan?"

Mother took her breath. The washing movement stopped. He looked up, looking towards Shanum. The girl turned off the stove, and placed the finished fried rice onto the plate. Through the corner of his eyes Shanum saw mother still fixated on looking at him.

Shanum put the plate containing the fried rice next to the stove, and approached the mother. "Kok Mommy shut up, I still disagree?" Again, my mother took her breath. Mother looked at Shanum, her face looked doubtful. "What's wrong, ma'am? Just tell me, Shanum will try to accept Dad's decision."

Mother took out a plate containing fried rice, pulled Shanum's hand and took him to the dining room. "Sit down, son, eat first. After that, I'll say." Then mom went back to the kitchen and seemed to continue washing the delayed dishes earlier. Shanum was still riveted, but eventually took out a spoon and began to feed the fried rice into his mouth.

While eating Shanum wondered about the mother's words earlier. A speck of anxiety ambushed, but Shanum calmed down. Mom and dad would have finally agreed to her departure plan. Shanum is his only child. He's a long-expected son of his presence, the father becomes more strict guarding

Shanum in any case. Dad keeps a close eye on Shanum's activities, on the sidelines of his busy life leading a large company in the country. Although they were struggling with treasures, Shanum was still the most valuable treasure to them. They always taught him simplicity and responsibility. Therefore, she grew up to be a polite, independent and humble girl.

"Eat it not while daydreaming, later wrong enter it spoon. It should go to the mouth so it goes to the nose, "mom scolded. Then Mom pulled the bench, and sat down next to her. Shanum smiled as he chewed his food.

"Son, I'm actually still half-hearted to let you go that far." Shanum turned to look at the mother, then put down his spoon. His attention was entirely on mom, waiting for her sentence to continue. There was a long pause before he continued his sentence.

"Mom tried, son. Looks like you need to talk to me directly." Shanum smiled and held Mom's hand. "Yes Ma'am, it's okay, Shanum understands. Shanum will talk to Dad." Mom smiled and rubbed Shanum's head.

That night Shanum was planning to approach my father in his study. As usual after dinner, I'll be there. Mother saw Shanum standing glued in front of the door. "Shanon..."

Shanum turned his head, looking at the smiling mother while raising both of his thumbs in the air, a sign of encouraging her. Shanum replied with a nod of his head and a sweet smile.

Slowly Shanum knocked on the door of the room, "May Shanum come in. Dad." "Just enter Princess," replied Father from inside the room. Shanum opened the door, then went inside.

Dad was sitting behind a desk made of maple tree wood, has an elaborate brown carving pattern. The shape of the table is sturdy, has feet curved like claws, and with a matching work bench. Next to the work desk there is a glass-enclosed bookcase of the same color.

Shanum slowly walked towards the sofa on the right side of the father's desk. Under the sofa there is a carpet made of Saxony with a soft cream color. "Kok sitting on the couch, here sitting in front of Dad." He pointed to the bench in front of him. "Shanum just sit here Well, sitting there makes you nervous. So rich wants to face the fierce Big Boss," Shanum said grimacingly.

Dad chuckled, coming out from behind his desk, walking towards the sofa where Shanum was sitting. "Alright, then I'm sitting here." Dad sat down next to Shanum, looked at him, folded his hands in front of his chest and raised his eyebrows. "So..," Dad stopped, still smiling and showing the funny face. Kontan Shanum laughed amusedly.

"Damn...What the hell dad, Shanum wants to talk seriously too." Father still did not make a sound, now it's his second ear's turn to wiggle up and down. "Haa.haa, Oh my God, Dad! Already!" Shanum laughed louder, looking breathless, holding his stomach. The last one smothered his mouth, although occasionally it still let out a sound like people were suffocating from holding back laughter.

"Alright Princess, take a deep breath, let out. Take a deep breath once more, let it out" said the father. Shanum was still holding back his laughter, his eyebrows were furrowing, his eyes were narrowing, his face was starting to turn red. "Why do you sit so tilted, want to fart?" Dad squeezed his nose.

Shanum couldn't stand it anymore, his hand smacking his father's shoulder, laughing out loud. Dad laughed as he pretended to scream in pain and begged Shanum for forgiveness. Finally the laughter died down. Shanum wiped away the tears in the corners of his eyes. She smiled sweetly.

"Thank you Dad, you removed Shanum's awkwardness and nervousness earlier." Shanum hugged his father tightly, and was avenged by Dimas. Dimas embraces his only princess. The daughter he loved.

The princess always felt sadness and confusion. Dimas knew his daughter was haunted by dreams from a young age. He's already taken her to a psychiatrist. How many therapy sessions had been undertaken by his steadfast daughter. But eventually all of that was in vain, the dream remained present without being eliminated.

Dimas has also tried to find information in various kinds of literature, leading figures to smart people. The result is still zero. No one can cure his daughter, all of them raise their hands in surrender.

Once there was one incident that always imprinted his memory, the words of one of the smart people he met up to the Dayak Land. The smart man said that this was the fate of his daughter.

His daughter could not resist and ran away. It will continue to follow it, until one day all the screens will open, and the characters behind the scenes will be revealed. His daughter had to prepare physically and mentally to deal with this, as her path of fate was extremely steep and thorny.

Dimas could only pensively hear the clever man's words. Then he returned home with a limp, a frenzy, a sense of defeat, and a whack of sadness in the chest. "Dad, Shanum wants to talk seriously." Shanum broke Dimas' daydream, he took off his embrace.

"Yes Princess, you can talk to two rius, too" replied Dimas. "Shanum seriously, Dad, don't joke around, it's about Shanum's planned departure to Astrakhan. Hmm, you let it go, right?" Shanum looked at his father timidly. Dimas sighed, his face turned murky, then rose to his feet from the sofa, walking towards the sliding door towards the balcony.

His little heart seemed to know, something bad was waiting for his daughter there. But is this just a father's worry? Or is it a real bad feeling. It felt like Dimas was taking his daughter away, to forget all these problems. But Dimas couldn't, as the clever man said, his daughter couldn't dodge. So Dimas had to be strong, for the sake of his daughter, and also his wife.

"Dad..." Shanum called back to him. Dimas turned his head, saw Shanum trying to get up, and wanted to approach. "No Princess, sit down. I'll answer your question." The sound of the door opening sounded in the room. Dimas and Shanum turned towards the door.

"Mas!" Suddenly she called out, she was already standing at the door. Wanting in but hesitant, afraid of interrupting the ongoing conversation. "Just enter Ra" said Dimas with a smile.

Raisa stepped inside, closed the door again and stepped towards her husband. "Sorry Mas, I was curious, had heard the laughter of Shanum and you. Is there a word for consensus?" She asked with a smile and wanted to know. Dad raised his eyebrows then chuckled.

He approached her, took her by the hand, and took her to sit on the sofa right next to Shanum. Then he sat on the other bench next to his mother. "We haven't gotten to the topic yet, Ma'am, Shanum just asked and Mas will explain." "Oh so, wow...So I interrupted your conversation dong ya. Sorry yes!" Mom laughed a little while grimacing.

He smiled as he shook his head, "It's okay. Hmm, alright, I just continue. Poor little Princess we're beautiful, the more curious she will be." Shanum blushed embarrassedly, his father was well aware of the shock in his heart at this moment.

Dad looked at Shanum, his face looked serious. "Princess, I let you, but..., for a minute, don't cut your words!" Shanum was just about to open his mouth, instantly clenching him back to hearing father's words.

"Shanum, I have a condition, and this condition is not negotiable. First, I want you to go with your friends, Second, all the arranged father's accommodations, hotels, Tour Guides, and others. Third, I ask for a list of places you will visit, Fourth, I want to be there, every day you have to Vicall Father or Mother, Fifth, not to go out at night, Dad, except for urgent matters, Sixth, do not go to nightclubs or other dangerous activities, Seventh, if there is anything suspicious immediately contact Father.

Understand, Princess!" Dad looked at Shanum fixedly. Shanum looked flabbergasted, then shook his head. Not believing in his father's overprotective terms.

How will he say so many conditions to his friends. After that, get ready to heat the ears into a plumbing material. Shanum rubbed his face, appearing to take a deep breath.

Then Shanum looked at the faces of his father and mother with a clear look. Mother looked smiling and father still with that look he did not want to deny. "Alright Dad, Shanum will obey. Just a little asking for relief, yes, please..." Shanum still showed a pleading face.

Dad shook his head, his gaze looking firm. "Mom, at least yes Shanum is not every day Vicall. Shame on Shanum with Farah and Diva." Shanum looked at Mom with eyes begging for help. Raisa could not bear to hear her daughter's plea. Finally she turned her head towards her husband, held his hand and nodded her head while smilingly pleading for her wisdom.

Father exhaled, "Well, if you're ashamed, I'm the one who Vicall you. That's if you or Mom just miss it." Hearing his father's words slowly, Shanum's face gradually brightened, a smile rising on his lips. Then he hugged the two, thanked them and promised to take care of himself while there.

Shanum returned to his room. But his steps were arrested by his mother. I invited Shanum to sit down. "Son, there's one more thing I need to tell you. This is what happened after your birth. Mother looked towards Shanum, waiting for her reaction. Shanum watched with a frown, but still seriously listened to Mother's every utterance.

"That day, she was forced to give birth in an area far from the hospital. Mom accompanied Dad to review the project site located in one of the areas in Kalimantan. At that time, your estimated birth should still be two months away.

But it turns out, I had to give birth to you when I was seven months old. Mom fell when she came out of the bathroom. At that time Dad was very panicked, because Mom's water also broke." I looked at my father with a gentle look.

"Mothers were forced to be taken to child shamans who used to help with the birth of babies in the region.

Still I remember, when you came out of Mom's womb, you cried loudly and your body shone brightly. It's like there's a protective circle of light around you.

The child shaman who helped your birth process was immediately shocked. Fortunately, he did not drop you. He handed you over to Dad. As if afraid of holding you for longer. Then with a scared face he left, even receiving payment from us he did not want to." Mom looked amusedly smiling.

"At that time I was still limp, unable to carry you directly. Fortunately Dad was unusually calm, he cleaned you still covered in blood. Put on clothes, and cover you." Mom told me while looking ahead. It was as if the event was real in his eyes.

"Father to tears moved to see you when the Princess, you are the light of our lives. You're so shining, so pretty." I was stunned to hear Mom and Dad's story. "I mean Mom and Dad, when I was born there was such light in my body. How can? Dad and Mom aren't scared?" I tell my astonishment.

Raisa and Dimas looked at her, and laughed together. Shanum was more confused to see the behavior of his parents.

"Maybe that moment that's on our minds is more gratitude you were born safely, even though prematurely. Not too concerned about the light that appears. What was on our minds at that time, only immediately took you to the nearest hospital for a doctor's examination. I'm worried because you were born prematurely, Princess," I explained further.

"When was the light in my body?" Shanum is increasingly curious about the continuation of the story of Raisa and Dimas. "Okay, I'll continue. So after Mom suckled you the light miraculously disappeared. I also don't know the cause and the reason the light stopped glowing. Maybe it's because you're not crying, or for some other reason. All we know is that after that light doesn't shine from your body anymore. We can see a unique birthmark on your palm."

Shanum smiled as he rubbed the birthmark on his right palm, located just below his ring finger. "This sign is unique, its shape is similar to a flower petal" said Shanum lirih. "So you already know the secret of your birth, Princess. Mom and Dad told me. For us, as with anything you were born into the world, you are still our son. We'll always love you, and protect you." Raisa and Dimas stared affectionately at Shanum. Shanum's eyes glazed over, feeling overwhelmed at the words of his parents. Then he hugged the two tightly.
