When Shanum woke up the next day, it was already noon. Bright sunlight shone down from between the curtains of his room. He had just slept well past midnight yesterday, having to discuss with the men, discussing the next strategy.
Both have changed clothes that can be used by men and women, namely denim pants, shirts and hoodies. Sergei said wearing his women's clothes was done. And Khan could sigh in relief. The man does not like to disguise himself as something that goes against his nature.
As for Sergei, he was also actually just that time disguised as a woman. However, he is still a pure man who is also uncomfortable playing such an extreme role. However, both of them still have to wear clothes that cover their original form as men, in order to help Shanum.
Because their image in the eyes of the enemy still must not change. If they were men, the enemy would be more vigilant. And if the enemy turned wary, it would be difficult to let them off guard and trap him.
According to Sergei their fishing rod at the beginning was successful, because they had been followed since leaving the apartment. And do not rule out the current possibility of the enemy is also already on this land.
Jullian and Abdan had also teleported to the villa last night. They appear suddenly while Shanum is having dinner in the dining room. The men also wore denim and hoodie like the other two men.
And since Shanum has already comforted Mr. Maman and his family, the dinner dishes must be made by himself with the help of Sergei and Khan.
The girl indeed did not want anyone in this villa other than her and the four men. He did not want if there would be casualties from ordinary humans who did not have magic power.
Half awake, Shanum lifted his body and rested on one of the elbows he observed his surroundings sleepily, and realized that his stomach was rumbling to be filled. The girl slowly stood up and stretched out casually, taking the time to take a quick shower.
Then he came out of the room, towards the dining room. Shanum did not find Khan sitting there chatting with Sergei.
"You're awake, Shasha. Let's sit here. We still have breakfast for you. Do you want to warm up the breakfast again or do you want to eat something cold?" Khan patted the bench next to him while smiling at him.
"What are you cooking, Adri?" tanyakanya.
"It wasn't me who cooked, it was Abdan who made meat loaves and omelets."
"Or you want to make something else. I'll make it. What do you want?" khan said as he moved to get up from his seat.
"No need, Adri. I don't want to trouble you. Anyway, I want to appreciate the food that Abdan has made, baby if it's wasted." Shanum shook his head while holding Khan to stay on his stool, and the girl sat down next to him. Khan then sat back down with a faint smile.
"How do you sleep, is it good?" ask Shanum. The girl began to pick up the sandwiches available at the table. He put it in his mouth and chewed it greedily.
"Very good," Sergei said. "Here the weather is a little similar in Astrakhan in autumn" he continued.
"You want juice or coffee, Shanum?" Abdan interrupted their conversation and asked Shanum.
"I want some juice. Thank you, Abdan." Shanum smiled towards the man. And Abdan answered him with a nod.
"Yes, here the weather is cooler and humid. You might prefer the weather here, because it reminds you of your home country."
"If I'd like it wherever you are, Shasha." Khan smiled gently towards Shanum. And the girl rolled her eyes. It could be that the man let out his sheepish seduction in front of others.
"Seriously, I'm still amazed to see you turn so drastically into this romantic guy." Sergei smiled amusedly looking towards Khan.
And Khan did not comment hearing Sergei's words, he just stared at the man with a sharp look and his feet. Sergei sniffed his shoulders while looking back at the tablet in his hand. He realized Khan didn't like to hear his comments just now.
After Shanum finished eating, they began to run the first stage of their plan. Shanum invites Khan and Sergei to walk down the organic vegetable garden that is in the land. Whereas Abdan and Jullian were just watching from a distance.
In addition to having a resting house, the land around the villa is also used to grow crops. Shanum walked aside the green house with a pleased look.
"What is planted here?" asked Sergei with a curious face. The man stuck out his body and took a close look at the plant inside one of the pots.
"They grow peppers, broccoli, tomatoes and other plants" Shanum replied. His father did not want to waste the land by leaving it empty. Besides being useful for them, it is also useful for local residents, which can open jobs for them.
"If you let them go, who's in charge of this plant?" khan asked as he looked around him warily. The man felt that someone was observing their movements. It seems Sergei's words were true. The enemy has begun to fall.
"Oh, I do not comfort those who care for this garden. All I have is workers living in the villa" Shanum replied.
"So those workers live in this land as well?" ask Sergei to know.
"No, they did not live in a village not far from the gate. This land is in the west, the north and south sides are forests. The eastern side is a clear river that flows westward" Shanum explained. "If you want to go to the river tomorrow we can leave early" he said again.
They then surrounded the green house on foot. Look at various plants while observing their surroundings.
"How exactly is the land of your family, Shanum?" ask Sergei suddenly. "It's about a thousand acres" replied the girl. Sergei immediately whistled in astonishment when he heard the number Shanum spoke.
"Is it the forest that surrounds it?" khan asked curiously. "Yes, with the forest surrounding this villa." Shanum smiled as he looked at Khan. The man nodded with a reply smile that always made the girl's heart beat fast.
"That means your girl is not a random person, the Great One," Sergei said with an amused smile. "No, she's my queen candidate. So of course, he can't be underestimated." Khan replied with a warm smile towards Shanum. The girl immediately blushed at the meaningless words of Khan.
After quite a long time surrounding the spacious green house, they stepped back towards the villa. Shanum went to his room to rest. Because it is quite tiring also surround the green house earlier.
The next day, in the morning they were getting ready to go to the forest, and came to the river on the east side of this villa. The road to the river must be passed by following the path that has been made by Shanum's father's men.
"Don't forget to bring a change of clothes, if you want to swim." Shanum reminded the four men. All four were ready without having to be told to go back. It seemed like they did not want to miss the opportunity to swim in the river.
"Our supplies are they complete, Jullian?" khan asked the man. "Here, the Great. I carry supplies in my backpack. While the rest are held by Abdan," replied Jullian. Khan then nodded his head hearing the man's reply.
"Okay, let's get going" Shanum said. The girl then began to lead in front stepping towards the forest. It was followed by Khan on the right and Sergei on the left. As for the two men of Khan's bodyguards, they stepped leisurely behind him.
This morning the sky was clearly visible among the trees, a bright blue color that was not even blocked by the thinnest cloud clumps. The sun was so warm and bright, it shone brightly through scattered trees to illuminate the surroundings.
They had only stepped a few hundred meters when Khan gestured for silence, looking back and forth, like looking for something in the air.
"Rubber!" suddenly shouted. "Some one lit a fire in the woods!" Khan tightened his jaw. "I feel the fire of magic."
"I don't smell any smoke" Shanum replied as he sniffed the air. "It looks like I'm starting to get annoyed with this magical fire smelling thing. Yesterday my house was burned, now my forest." Shanum grumbled to himself.
"You haven't been trained to know about magic. And I'm also sure like the Great One, this fire must be a magic fire" Sergei said. He turned to Abdan, Khan's bodyguard. "Can you trace the origin of the fire, Abdan?"
Abdan darted up the tree, and disappeared from sight. "Wow he can fly," Shanum said in awe.
"He mastered the wind element, of course he can fly" Sergei said.
"You should also be able to fly, Shasha. You have the wind element too. You've forgotten, when you flew Chinua and his army, and ravaged them. We were infiltrating their camp and getting caught." Khan grinned as he recalled the incident, staring at Shanum.
"Seriously you did that, Shanum. It's amazing then. And my advice is that you have to hone your magic power a lot" Sergei said.
Shanum rolled his eyeballs. "How can I practice in the apartment. Making a little commotion can be at the protests of other residents. Moreover, I bring up the wind in front of the balcony, they might die standing looking at it." Shanum chuckles amusedly.
"You can train here, Shanum," after Sergei again. "Yes, but after the rioters were bent. And also after my script is done. There's no way I'm going back and forth from the villa to the campus, it's too far away" the girl replied.
"Order the fire from several places at once, the Great One. And now it's all around us. Only the way there is no fire" Abdan said, pointing at the road ahead of them.
The man suddenly appeared before them without a sound. Shanum was surprised to see the sighting of the man who appeared suddenly like a ghost.
If it was as great as the strength of the wind element, he was eager to master it more deeply. It must be amazing to be able to fly fast and fly like Abdan.
"If that were true, then this forest would burn in a matter of minutes!" Sergei looked at Khan with an anxious look. "Is there another route out of here?" khan asked Shanum. "Nothing, Adri. Only one path." Shanum replied while shaking.
Khan hesitated at a glance, then gestured to continue the journey back on that path, the path that Abdan indicated was safe for them to go through.
Their steps grew even faster as they had to rush out of the fire trap that started to surround them. The burning hot air began to be felt by them. Shanum felt a sweat begin to flood him.
And the three men's long steps forced Shanum to run so as not to miss. Abdan shouted something to Khan in the middle of the road and the Khan man and Jullian retreated into the forest and disappeared. Abdan said he and Jullian would try to dispel the flames closest to them.
Khan turned his head towards Shanum, the man only realized that Shanum was far behind. He walked up to her and clasped her hand.
"I'm sorry I didn't realize I was leaving you" he said. Shanum tightened his grip and replied, "It's okay. My legs are indeed shorter than yours, so it will definitely be left behind."
Khan smiled then he told them all to run faster. Thick clumps of smoke began to pierce through between the series of tree trunks like mist, blurring the path ahead and making it harder for them to breathe.
There was still no sign of the true existence of the flames. Meaning the existence of the fire was not strong enough to creep through the intertwined branches and cut their way. Abdan and Jullian seemed to have managed to hinder the rate of the flames.
Although the fire was invisible, the smoke continued to spread to all directions within minutes, The three of them coughed in each breath, their eyes starting to get spicy by the heatstroke and irritation.
Suddenly Khan asked them to stop. Reluctantly they stopped and waited for the order to continue on the way, but it seemed that the man was looking back looking for something, his face looked solemn and stiff. Shortly after, two body figures reappeared from the forest behind them, tightly wrapped in the long jacket they were wearing.
"You're right, those who burned this forest are behind us" Abdan told gasping for breath. "They deliberately burned the whole forest behind us. It's like a trap that leads us somewhere."
"I'll get us somewhere safe." Sergei beckoned them to follow him, and they stepped swiftly in the same direction, trying to see and breathe amidst the suffocating smoke.
Then suddenly the sound of water gurgling rang out between the smoke and the trees, and Sergei signaled them to head there. A few moments later, while fumbling the road that has been covered in dense fog, white like a cloud. In Khan's arms protecting him from being separated from the man, Shanum can breathe a sigh of relief.
They saw a field outside the burning trees. In front of them lay a river with large rocks. The sound of the water flow was like a beautiful melody in their ears. Sergei went straight to the riverbank and washed his face with the clear water.
"This is the river I was referring to earlier" Shanum said as he sat on a rock beside the river. Khan sat next to him on the same stone. "Finally we get to the original destination," Shanum sighed still with a heavy breath.
Jullian immediately dispensed bottled mineral water to be distributed to those who were there. And the five people immediately chugged at him enthusiastically. The water immediately alleviated the feeling of suffocation due to the heat that had attacked them.
"They try to force us to choose between dying charred in the forest or walking towards this river" Sergei said, looking around with caution.
"Yes, they're not stupid. Something must have been planned for them." Khan confirmed Sergei's assumption. "And I can't read this tactic they're doing."
"So how now? Anybody have any ideas to get out of here?" shanum asked while frowning.
"Oh, just for information, this forest will end up in a deep ravine on the north and south sides. Our current position is in the east. If we want to go back to the villa it means we have to walk west" he added.
Sergei curled his brows, seemingly thinking about Shanum's words. The man then placed his palm on the ground in front of him and saw a blue light absorbing into it, he studied it carefully. Then he moved along the riverbank.
Finally Sergei returned where they had gathered, with a deep frown.
"There were footprints, but there was no sign of any life around it" Sergei reported.
"It looks like they've been here before, and we're now trapped in this place. If it were true as Shanum said if we crossed the river there would only be a gulf stretching out."
"That's fine. I've been through it with my dad. There is a gaping gorge that is hundreds of meters deep. And there's no other way around it. There's no other way out of here except through that burning forest again." Shanum pointed towards the path leading into the forest.
"They don't even have to chase us. They can wait for us to starve to death." Khan growled in annoyance. They all knew that they had been fooled by allowing themselves to get into such a simple yet effective trap. They should be the ones who trap the enemy, not the ones who are trapped.
