The nightmare about torture returned that night. Shanum should have known that he would not be able to escape from the dream that had controlled his life. The nightmare drew him to the bloody rubble so quickly that he could not resist it.
"No, no, no." Shanum closed his eyes with resistance. But the dream forced him to open his eyes. What he saw made his body freeze, his pulse throbbing so fast that his panic was behind his throat.
This time something was different. There was no stiff body of Sintai after being subjected to torture like before. Shanum saw blood. Wherever he looked, there was blood. More blood than he had ever seen.
It was at that moment that he realized that he was no longer in the place where Sintai was subjected to torture. He was in the kitchen of the mansion. Shiny pots hung over a long stone bench, while a large refrigerator hummed softly in the corner. The stove was a large tool made of shiny steel that always amazed him.
However, tonight the steel seemed to be full of blood, making him nauseous, making him quickly take his eyes off. To knives. The knives were everywhere. On the floor, on the counter, on the wall. Everything was dripping with a thick dark red liquid. "No, no, no." Shanum hugged himself, then cast his gaze around the terrifying room in search of a safe place.
His blood, his knives gone. The kitchen was clean again. And cold. Real cold. Changes in dreams, he was mistaken, he thought. This place is not very clean. There was a man's shoe lying on a clean white tile. Then he saw a shadow on the wall, swinging about. "No!"
"Hey." A hand gripped his upper arm tightly, the smell of the forest after the clear and clean rain entered his mind. "Shaa." The call interrupted the continuation of his dream, taking it back to the present. "I'm doing fine. I'm fine." The words were spoken with gasps, disjointed.
Khan pulled Shanum into his arms as Shanum was about to jump down from the bed. For what, Shanum did not know, but sleep was never easy for him after the dreams attacked him brutally. "I should..."
Khan shifted until Shanum was closer. "Sttt, Shasha." Khan's body felt warm clinging tightly to Shanum's body. The girl was embarrassed, she hid her face on the man's chest. Shanum has never slept in a man's arms except for his father on the bed.
As Khan bowed his head and whispered slower, affectionate words in Mongolian. ". ." Shanum was blown away, hearing the gentle rhythm flowing from the man's lips.
"Tell me what it means" the girl asked. Khan smiled faintly. "Secret" replied the man. Shanum pouted hearing Khan's words. But then he had a brilliant idea. "Try to repeat" he asked again. Khan repeated his words. And Shanum tried to memorize it in his heart. Khan was not aware that the girl had an extraordinary memory. He had a plan to ask Khan's words earlier with Taban. I hope he helps her translate it.
Shanum then raised his hand and wrapped it around Khan's neck, trying to pull the man in. Trying to drown in Khan. The man tightened his arms and supported him with one hand so he could look at him. "Tell me."
Shanum understood, Khan wanted him to tell him about the dream. The girl gulped her saliva, she needed time to tell him. "If you still can't tell me it's okay, Shasha."
"No, I can do it" Shanum said in the end, his voice hoarse as if screaming. "I saw the dream as usual. Dream about torture Sintai." Khan straightened his jaw and Shanum saw it. A hint of disappointment controlled Shanum's heart. "Continue" Khan ordered. Even now the man returned to his usual cold tone. Shanum can't continue this.
Then Shanum shook his head. He inched back from the man's embrace. Khan raised his eyebrows. "What's wrong?" tanyakanya. "Em. I think I changed my mind. I can't tell you that." Shanum lowered his face, not wanting Khan to see a sad face as he looked at her.
"Say, did I say something wrong?" Khan pulled Shanum's chin and tried to pull Shanum back into his arms. The man was very sensitive, he felt that something was wrong. They looked at me in silence. Shanum exhaled. Finally he spread his hands across Khan's chest, listening to Khan's heart pounding, strong, and steady.
"There's nothing wrong, I'm just not ready yet." Saying those words made him feel like a traitor, for he had dared to tell a lie. Though he felt jealous of Khan's reaction when he heard the name Sarnai. But Shanum covers up his feelings, he doesn't want Khan to know.
"The dreams will stop haunting you." Confidence is implied in Khan's tone of voice. Shanum smiled faintly at the man. "Sleep back, I'll take care of you. I promise."
That night, Shanum let Khan hug her for the rest of the night. Shanum slept well. The man's embrace made him feel a sense of calmness. And the dream did not come back to him.
Dawn sucked her golden and pink fingers into the room as she fell asleep. But peace only lasts for a blink of an eye. "Shaa." Still sleepy, Shanum opened his eyes and saw Khan was neatly standing by the bed. "What's up, Adri?" tanyakanya. "Something has happened that requires your healing skills."
Shanum's senses were so excited, his mental muscles seemed to burst with the same pain and pleasure as his physical muscles as he raised his hands and stretched. "Who's hurt?" tanyakanya. "Taban and two guards. They were attacked while on patrol." Shanum lowered his hands, his stomach was heavy. "Is it because of the Queen?" Khan nodded his head.
Fear splits his veins and collects in the stomach. Shanum shouldn't be surprised, he should know. Sooner or later the queen will attack them. "Is there any way to stop it without bloodshed?" whispered Shanum. Silent. A hopeful silence and a wait. "I don't know. Are you scared, Shasha?" tanyakanya.
"All I want is no quarrel. I wanted it so much that I had no room for fear. The worst is yet to happen, and I hope it never does. It feels like finishing it in peace is not a bad thing" Shanum replied.
"There will be no way of peace, Shasha. That woman is so full of revenge. If there is, I don't see a way." Khan patted the girl on the shoulder. "Well, now we have to hurry. You still have to have breakfast. Someone needs your healing powers, remember." Shanum then patted his forehead and ran towards the bathroom.
After breakfast they headed to Taban's room. Dario and one of the bodyguards rushed to greet the two at the door. "How is he doing?" ask Khan. "He had a stab wound in his stomach. The wound was not fatal, but it was enough to render him unconscious because it was spitting out a lot of blood" Dario replied.
Shanum approached Taban's bed. The man looked peaceful in his unconsciousness. The upper part of his body appeared to be open, with a bandage wrapped around his stomach. Shanum turned his head towards Khan, the girl seemed hesitant to touch the man. Khan then smiled as he advanced to Shanum's side.
He guided Shanum's hand to be taped to Taban's stomach. "Now concentrate, then channel that healing energy. You've done it to me before, and it worked out well" Khan said softly.
Shanum focused his mind and imagined a cure for Taban. Then a beam of light appeared from his palm. The light seeped into Taban's skin. It caused a golden spark throughout his body.
Taban flinched, then his body went back. Shanum waited, his heartbeat irregular. Shanum turned towards Khan. "It doesn't seem to work," Shanum sighed. "Wait." Khan took the scissors from the table next to him. Shanum. "What are you gonna do with those scissors?" Khan did not answer the girl's question. He approached Taban, held his bandage and began to cut off one side of the bandage. Shanum furrowed his brows, he did not understand.
Dario gulped loudly. "Sorry," he said slowly. "Now we're heading to two more people you're going to heal." Khan pulled Shanum's hand and led him out of the room. While walking Shanum tilted his head, "What should we do after this?" Khan stopped his steps hearing Shanum's question. Khan's face was covered in a cold mask. "We'll lure them into a trap."
A goosebumps flowed into Shanum's spine. Not because of his cold face, but... "The woman will accept her destiny, which is to die." Shanum mumbled, his shoulders held high. "Okay, thanks for the information. Let's move on to the next patient."
The next two men were also already cured by Shanum. Then Shanum said he needed a break. Healing three dying people was quite draining of his energy. "I can't accompany you to the room. I have to lead a meeting with the others" Khan said. "Is this related to the trap you said earlier?" ask Shanum. Khan nodded his head.
"OK, I can go back to my room myself" he said. "Be careful, Shasha. Don't let your guard down, anyone can hurt you right now." Shanum smiled as he lifted his thumb. Then he rushed to the room. Shanum slept, in the end.
He fell asleep when he touched the pillow. Khan smiled gently as he returned from the meeting and checked on the girl. Feeling that the girl was fine, Khan closed the door slowly. Not wanting to wake Shanum up with his arrival. The girl needs enough rest to recover her energy back. He needs it because they're going to war.
A hand squeezed Shanum's face so hard that the creaking of his bones jumped up. "Look at what we found," the lazy and cold voice of a woman.
Shanum recognized the face, his shiny black hair, his blue net, his mocking smile. Well, she's Chinua, the goddamn queen. Shanum looked around the room, he did not recognize the faces of the other two men in this room, while Roman, the doorkeeper of Shanum's room growled locked in their clasps.
"I'm pretty upset, Granny. You have dropped my pride" said the woman, holding a knife to her neck. Wake." With the knife still stuck to Shanum's neck, he let the woman pull him up, two others dragging Roman before he could stand on his own.
Shanum uses his surroundings well. His eyes caught Roman's gaze. And he saw sweat droplets on his forehead, above his lips, while his blood bubbled. A small nod of his chin is the only sign that he understands.
"You're the road ahead" Chinua said slowly, eventually lowering his knife. He pushed Shanum a step. He's been waiting. Balance, as his martial arts coach taught him, is essential to winning the fight. And Chinua's position became unbalanced as he pushed Shanum, so he turned and stepped on him.
Spinning so fast that he could not see her taking chances and attacking, the girl swung her elbow at the queen's nose. Chinua staggered backwards. The fire suddenly snatched the other two, and Roman ran off as they shouted and crashed into the wall.
Shanum unleashed every drop of golden fire within him, the wall between them and the three enemies. He locked them in the room.
"Run," Shanum said gasping, Roman was already beside him. This would not deter them for long, and Shanum actually sensed that there was a new power rising within him. Roman understood at the same time.
The sweat on his brows spread as a pounding of fire-plated power grabbed the doors and walls outside the room. The heat feels stinging. The sound of a fire alarm was loud, the mansion had sensors to detect flames. Water began to fall from the ceiling.
Shanum threw a drop of magic into his next attack, hoping that the magic fire could not be extinguished by ordinary water. When Chinua's wrathful face emerged from the net of fire that he had set up, lit up like a goddess from hell, Shanum and Roman retreated slowly and then turned to flee.
"Hurry towards the training room," Roman said with a huff, and Shanum did not waste his breath to express his agreement as they galloped. They did not stop once, for if they stopped, the queen of hell would succeed in pursuing them.
Shanum tried, over and over again, to speed up his run. They were still very far from the training room, the location of the space was indeed very separate from the mansion. It is in the farthest corner after the shooting field, archery field and riding field.
Shanum's muscles screamed at each step, his feet hurting from not wearing footwear. The clothes used are also sleeping clothes that have been washed many times. In his run, Shanum cursed the location of the training room very far away. He regretted why when Khan chose to gather there during an emergency he immediately agreed.
Roman, a step behind Shanum, looked stupefied. Shanum almost whimpered, the soles of his feet seemed to be blisters. I don't know what he stepped on while running. If he was a regular human, he might get Tetanus, or lose a toe.
Shanum looked back, and saw Chinua chasing with many people. It looks like it's his army. "Faster," cried Shanum. Chinua shot his blue light towards Shanum and Roman. "Damn, he's using his powers." "Zig-zag," Roman gasped.
"We should..." He pushed Shanum to the side, and the girl staggered, her hands twirling. Right at the moment an arrow shot towards the ground where it had stepped.
"Faster," Shanum snapped, and Roman did not hesitate anymore. They began to run as fast as possible, Roman and Shanum intermittently exchanged paths while Chinua's arrows and blue light attacked.
Shanum started shooting back his golden flames while running. He didn't care if the fire would kill the enemy. At least it was done to hinder their movement.
"A little more" cried Roman. Shanum exchanged paths with Roman again, his eyes wide open, and wanting to open his mouth, just as the queen from hell appeared. Not in the back, but in the front. He stood there grinning. The power of his blue light was ready to be shot towards Shanum.
Shanum slid to the side, rolling over. Less rapidly. The blue light grazed his shoulder, leaving a sense of pain. Roman yelled, but another blue ray headed for Shanum. This time he stabbed his right arm. The ground hit his face, and his hands. By the time he collapsed, his knees were gritting, his arms were screaming in pain from it.
Behind Shanum sounded the approaching steps. He bit his lips so hard that he dripped blood when he felt the flesh of his hand being torn off. The pain is immeasurable. Shanum was trying to channel his healing energy.
He felt that his arm muscles had started to tighten. He did not give Chinua the chance to read his movements. The girl took a sharp breath. A dazzling golden light emanated from him. Chinua growled, and he ran.
