The Woman Ruler of the Altan Clan

The Woman Ruler of the Altan Clan
Chapter 71 the Bataar Clan

Sofia appears in Samarkand when the sun has sunk behind the houses that line the west of the city, the color of the sky's shadow that reddened the shade touches the corners of the ground.

A smile was still visible on his lips at this moment. He laughed amusedly, recalling the face of Shanum's lover man earlier, whose expression grew increasingly cold, as he satirized her blatantly.

The man was handsome, but unfortunately had little expression. Except for one moment, when Shanum looks annoyed at him, because he does not reveal to him about the prophecy that has been known by the entire clan for hundreds of years.

Only then did Sofia gasp, with the man's expression of his heart against Shanum. Although still, the cold expression did not seem to match her sweet words. His words will be the dream of every woman, who has a heart.

Sofia steps towards a building that is her family's town house. Go inside the house and walk to the stairs that will take him to the room.

On the way to the room, he had a chance to cross paths with Elan, the Chief Servant in the house. Sofia asks him to prepare dinner faster in the dining room for her. His stomach had been rumbling since he was hungry. But still, he needs to cleanse the body first before filling the stomach.

Before entering the portal he had already ordered his group members to return to their respective homes. They all needed to rest, restoring the stamina that had been drained in the fight earlier.

He postponed the report of his task to be tomorrow because he also needed to rest. Although Shanum had already healed his wounds, his body still felt tired from taking out too much magic in the fight.

Sofia rushed to the bathroom. He missed soaking in the bathtub for thirty minutes to release the fatigue he felt.

After finishing soaking and cleaning up, Sofia headed for the dining room. At the dining table there are various menus of his favorite food. While he was trying to move one of the foods into his plate, someone greeted him.

"You're back, Sofia." The woman heard a voice belonging to Cenaiya, her half-sister beside her. Sofia glanced at him and replied, "Yes, I'm back." He dropped himself onto the chair while Kara sat on one of the chairs.

"How's your job this time? Did you manage to kill the girl?" cenaiya asked in curiosity. Sofia frowned. She was surprised her sister found out about her assignment. It's not usual for Cenaiya to interfere about her duties.

"What do you know? And how do you know?" Sofia squinted her eyes. "Oh, I know from Shogei. He belongs to the right hand of the Great. So he must know," replied Cenaiya as she sipped her drink.

Sofia grunts. "Still you're in touch with that wishy-washy guy. It wasn't enough that he hung up your relationship, and hurt you."

"I can't, Brother. She's everything to me. I've loved her since I was a kid." Cenaiya smiled forcedly.

Sofia just looked at her sister with a look of pity. If loving someone will hurt themselves like that better he doesn't have to feel it.

"So, you haven't answered me about the girl. It worked?" His sister asked back. Her face still wished Sofia would tell him.

"No." Sofia returned to eating. He did not care about getting a dumbfounded reaction from his half-brother.

"You mean?" Cenaiya approached Sofia. He switched seats to get answers that astonished him. It is not usual that Sofia fails in the task.

When she realized her brother did not respond, she poked his shoulder to get his attention. "You mind if I find out?"

"Yes, this is a secret." Sofia took a glass of water, then wiped her lips with the napkin that had been prepared on the table. He got up from his seat, being watched closely by Cenaiya. The woman's face still looked curious, but she wasn't pushy.

He understood Sofia was indeed stingy information. It was better for Cenaiya to seek her answer later than Shogei, and usually the man would happily tell her.

Then Sofia walked through the door. But in the middle he stopped and said, "I hope you don't ask Shogei about this. I just don't want you involved, and all this is for your own safety."

Cenaiya sighed in defeat. "If Sofia had already said that she naturally would not have dared to look for further information. Because it's certainly dangerous and secret."

The next morning, while preparing the water for a soak, Sofia thought of a plan. Today he should immediately face the Great Bataar Clan. And all he thought about was how he had to face the anger of the Queen, the spouse of the Great One.

The woman was obsessed with killing the girl from the beginning. He doesn't want any mistakes or failures. Everything must be in accordance with his orders. And Sofia suspects the woman is obsessed over the past grudge issue between the Altan Clan and the Bataar Clan.

Who does not know the events of hundreds of years ago. When the beloved daughter of the Qacha-Sang Queen, must swallow a bitter pill expelled from the Altan Clan, experience the annulment of the engagement, and receive the punishment must not set foot back in the territory of the Altan Clan. After that she acted like a crazy woman to this day.

Yes, Zuunaa Sarangerel Sukhbataar never recovered from the inner wounds caused by the breakup of the engagement. The woman adored Khan Adrian so much that she was suddenly mute and unwilling to leave her room for hundreds of years.

After breakfast, Sofia prepared to go to the Great's residence. Just half way into the main hall, rushing towards the room where the clan leader used to sit down to do the tasks of the clan, when he heard a voice reprimanding him from behind. "You've returned Sofia."

His steps stopped and he froze, then looked back. Qacha Gan Sukhbataar-Sang Queen stood a few steps away from him. He was forced all over to stay calm. He said as polite as possible, "Yes, Your Majesty. I'm back."

His eyes narrowed at a glance, but he displayed an expression that seemed to intend to smile kindly. Maybe the woman thought Sofia had managed to kill the girl. "Come, we have to talk soon" he said enthusiastically.

The Queen then lightly stepped in front of Sofia. A smile rose on his lips. Sofia who saw that swallowed her saliva. He did not dare to predict the reaction he would get when explaining the outcome of his task.

"Welcome back, Sofia," said the Great Bataar-Batukhan Sukhbataar Clan. Sofia tried to hide her tense shoulders, trying to smile a little. "Thank you, Great One." The woman lowered her head and saluted by crossing one hand on the chest.

"How's it?" insist on the Queen. Sofia. "It looks like the girl is not the girl in the prophecy Your Majesty," Sofia said with a nervous smile.

Qacha squinted his eyes. He stared at Sofia sharply. "What do you mean it's Sofia, explain?!

Sofia did not answer. He tried to set his words in order not to backfire on himself. "The girl was not the lover of the Great Khan Adrian, Your Majesty. She already has a lover, and I have met her lover" Sofia said with a firm expression.

"You said her lover wasn't Khan Adrian" Batukhan said. "How did you make sure?" The question went straight to the point, without further ado from the Great Bataar Clan.

Sofia gulps. They know Sofia has never had a boyfriend. His life was lived only for duty and devotion. So it's not wrong if they doubt their expertise in detecting romance problems. But Sofia is wrong, the fool also knows from attitude, and the man's words that he is Shanum's lover.

"I'm sorry if it's presumptuous." Sofia said solemnly, her facial expression looking solemn. "I see with my own eyes their attitude when interacting and also their words. Even the man was willing to die by the sword thrust into the heart of the girl. Until he got hurt replacing the girl."

The Queen shakes her head. He growled furiously and said, "You're such a fool. That man could be his bodyguard. Or someone close to her."

"But I can't be wrong" Sofia said. The woman felt a creeping tremor in her spine, she still believed she couldn't possibly misinterpret their relationship.

"I told you to tell me from the beginning, everything!" urge Batukhan with a stiff tone of voice. Sofia felt her blood heating up, slowly the whole room was boiling like it was inside a volcanic crater.

Sofia tried to swallow, but her throat closed. He gasped for breath and directed his gaze at the leader, and said, "Great One, I can't tell you if you strangle me with your hot power."

As Sofia finished expressing her objection to the clan leader, the heat dissipated outside the room, the cool air began to feel again. Sofia took a lot of breath. Then he started telling stories.

The two ruling couples of the Bataar Clan looked at each other. Coughing. "I didn't think we could get people wrong. If not her, who's the girl Khan loved that damn Adrian?"

The Queen was silent, pondering. "I smell something's wrong here. And I want you to keep investigating Sofia." The woman stared intently at Sofia, while occasionally pacing back and forth in the room. The Queen still could not seem to accept the information the woman had brought. He clenched his hands, with a face holding in anger.

Somehow Sofia's mouth dared to issue her opinion back. Of all the things that could be said, he railed, "I don't want to go back to the girl's place. Because I think it's a wasted job. It is possible that the girl in the prophecy did not happen in the present, but in other times in the future. Because the prophecy also didn't mention the exact number the girl would turn up."

The Queen was seen glaring towards Sofia. "Oh so you've started to go against our orders." He clenched both hands on his sides.

"Sorry, Your Majesty. I will not refuse the task given to me, provided that it is important. Not just to satisfy your grudges against the Great Khan Adrian. Remember we cannot start the seeds of war against them, for we will die foolishly against them. Since they embargoed us hundreds of years ago, they have banned other clans from helping us. We're still down, Your Majesty. Many of our people eventually moved to other clans because they could not survive." Sofia stared intently at them.

"While things have started to improve, do you want to act rashly, and start looking for trouble again? With his stead of tormenting the inhabitants of our clan. If you want to die silly yourself, go ahead! But don't take me and the people of the Bataar Clan!" Sofia then saluted and excused her from the room.

His head felt throbbing and began to heat up against the two people who should have been used as role models. Not even acting selfishly selfish.

If his daughter went crazy because of Khan Adrian, then why? It was clear the woman was guilty of complicity in the murder of her father Khan Adrian, leader of the Altan Clan at the time. Although not intentional. The woman foolishly did not realize she had been taken advantage of by the real criminal. Fortunately, his daughter was not executed. Even though being crazy is the same, it is equally sad.

Sofia still remembered Shanum's remarks the other day about being fair not to kill innocent people just because of the demands of duty. He doesn't want to do that. In fact he was also getting sick of having to engage with endless grudges that were clearly harming many of those people.

The Bataar clan actually experienced a slump when the event of the cancellation of the engagement. They became isolated, poor, evil was rampant everywhere, and they could not buy and sell with other clans. All the clan inhabitants were miserable. For hundreds of years they have tried to do it themselves. Planting foodstuffs, making the industry simple to the needs within the clan, and rising slowly from that crunch.

After two hundred years had passed, the new Khan Adrian softened and slowly lifted his embargo. They had already started to be able to trade with other clans. And now both pairs want to return them to zero. Don't expect Sofia to be quiet, and resigned. He'll fight to the point of the blood's ending, because he loves his clan. And did not want the bitter experience of the past in the Bataar Clan to happen again.
